Chicken and spinach enchiladas - yummmmm

This place takes Mexican food up a notch. gGreat experience from the moment we walked in through paying our tab. The ambiance was classy, food was an elevated menu - fresh takes on old standards and some new items to tempt, service was exceptional, and the sangria - hit the spot. Definitely , stopping there on our travels again!

Food made my stomach hurt. It looked and tasted disgusting. The only good thing was guacamole. The salsa had a pizza sauce like consistency and it was not worth the money. Portions on my fiancées carnitas was a bit ridiculous and I really didn't like how those refied beans looked like blended sweet potatoes. Lacked flavour and spice, not my jam. Servers were nice although we only saw OUR server like twice the whole time we were there had to have other servers come and refill our drinks and chips. The restaurant itself was nice, good atmosphere Again just not my type of place.

Chiles Poblanos Rellenos, I added chicken & queso. Waitress seemed off put I asked for chicken added tho. Lol

Smelled & looked promising upon walking in but was quickly met by all the staff seeming bothered by our presence and one talked so quiet we couldn't hear her & just smiled when I asked questions. It was awkward but she was the nicest there. Top Shelf margarita was sprite w/sweet and sour. It can't be called a margarita. It was gross. Cheese dip was good. Food was decent.

La Paloma never disappoints! The food and service is spectacular! They have an extended menu with lots of variety to choose from. I also enjoy the atmosphere as they decorate and celebrate holidays making it cheerful! In a nutshell-- the food, staff and atmosphere are all very creative and wonderful!

It's tough to rate Mexican restaurants due to the sheer quantity of them across the United States. A good rule of thumb is to look at chip and salsa quality and then obviously overall taste and value of your meal. You can make this even easier on yourself if you have a go-to order that you can compare across all restaurants. Now that we've gotten a quick lesson in, I will say that I found La Paloma to be sub-par up next to competing Mexican joints. The menu, overall, seemed a little bit overpriced but the lunch specials were fair. The chips and salsa were kind of what you would expect but nothing extraordinary. I don't eat meat, but do eat fish and was hoping to substitute out some meat tacos with fish but apparently this isn't possible at La Paloma and I had to change my order. I ordered a combo with chile relleno and a veggie enchilada. The food was drenched in sauce and the chile was fried, which may be the traditional way to make this dish (and that's okay) but I simply wasn't expecting it based upon the description. Overall we enjoyed the food but again, not enough to choose this spot above all others.

Veggie fajitas--no taste, no spice (and they had cauliflower in them). Not worth price! Won't return.

You pull up into a beautiful lot, the building is a work of art in its own right. I'm very particular with my Mexican food, I know what I like and I know what I don't. I judge the salsa, chips and queso. And I can say they were wonderful appetizers. They also sell Coke products which is a huge plus in my corner. The menu is colorful and plentiful. I had an authentic South American style cheese pupusa. The corn tortilla was crispy and delicious. I will make a point of coming back! And you should make a point of going in!

So let me clarify for all employees at Cesars and elsewhere who might read this. 1. Everyone knows what a taco is, you don't need to ask, we're not stupid. 2. Everyone expects chips and salsa after they order, you're not doing special favors here. 3. Keep your negative opinions about customers to yourself. You'd be surprised how many speak Spanish and understand what you're saying. 4. Tips are earned for pleasant service. Insult customers and the amount will be reduced accordingly. 5. Appreciate this country and stop insulting it. When you insult a people's home, you insult the people you expect to leave you money for their experience at your restaurant. We're not all vanilla and beneath you. 6. We have the power to spend our money at any of the other restaurants in town, we don't have to come back again.

Amazing service, quaint location as this is the original location…read more My husband's favorite so we always stop in when we happen to be in town. Went 1/12/26 after a family funeral. Sad reason to have to be in town but since this happened to be 2 days before his birthday we stopped in on our way home for his birthday celebration. He always orders the burrito enchilada style. If you haven't tried it, it's delicious and well worth the trip. Also can't beat their amazing chips and 3 types of sauce (he loves the hot sauce), don't forget the queso sauce. BTW, it was a Monday and the special on Monday is 1/2 price beers and margaritas.

Most tables were dirty and it was a challenge to seat ourselves as directed. We found a "clear" table. However the top was as sticky as a movie theater floor. Ordered a house marg on the rocks and no salt. It was overly sweet and tasted right from the Daily's mix bottle. (well it is a college town). We each ordered the 3 street tacos. Each a different protein and all 6 were good not great. The fresh onion and cilantro may have been the best part. Ohh almost for the chips and "salsa". Both the hot and mild salsas were more bbq sauce than salsa. The hot did bring the heat. Just not a purée of vegetables you would expect in a salsa. Service seemed understaffed. But all worked hard with orders, delivery and clean up. Not sure this is the place, though the appearance and history are intriguing the food, service, and cleanliness will have us seek other options.
