The place was crowded and there were no seats available when I arrived. There were many small groups congregated around tables and a few couples as well. It isn't obvious how to proceed once you come in the door so I probably stood there awkwardly for a few minutes near the door before making my way to the bar to what looked to be a vacant seat. A gentleman informed me that it belonged to his girlfriend so I was forced to now stand awkwardly next to the bar. Bar tender to the rescue explaining that if I waited he was pretty sure someone would leave soon and I could order a drink while I waited. I ordered a sangria and also inquired about food but was told that I need to have an actual seat in order to order food. After nursing my drink for about 20 mins when I was about to pay and head out to find somewhere else to eat, a spot finally opened up and I was treated to the most delicious steak and potatoes and zucchini tapas. This had to be one of the most delicious things I have eaten on this vacation. When I finally vacated my seat to save a pair of new arrivals, there was a line outside of people waiting for the opportunity to eat here. I might chance it again before I leave Seville. I highly recommend for the food and friendly waiters but wish there was a way to turn seats over more quickly. One guy kept insisting he was saving his girlfriend's seat but in the 90 mins I spent there she never showed up. Who knows if she ever existed. Some of our favorites were the mushrooms and chorizo, pork & cheese, smoked salmon, and pork cheek. Mushrooms were just a great pairing of textures and flavors. Pork with cheese was really salty and flavorful. They gave a very generous portion of salmon with dill sauce. The pork cheek was super tender although maybe a tad underseasoned. Overall the food was was very tasty. The place was extremely crowded; we got there relatively early for dinner and sat at the bar. The place was completely packed and there was a constant line so I'd recommend making a res if you're able.

It's still one of the best meals I can recall. The dessert was to die for. This place is super packed during peak dinner hours and there is barely any room to stand. As far as the service, it was our impression that our waiter was the only person serving the 30 or so tables in their dining room. Suffice it to say the service was not fast and not good. Inexplicably, every time we ordered a Coke we were asked if we wanted a Coke Zero. If I wanted a Coke Zero I would have said the words Coke Zero. Even when I asked for another Coke, he again asked "Coke Zero?" It took next to forever to get the check, and forever to get a cappuccino. At one point I took it upon myself to point the waiter to a table behind us that had been desperately attempting to get his attention. This was all not good. As to the food. First, our fault for not knowing what tataki meant. We did not expect to receive salmon that was seared on the outside and raw on the inside. So that one is on us, although we also think the meal came tepid at best. The lamb on couscous was dry and tough. The pork cheek stew was actually pretty good if a bit gluey. The calamari was good. The sushi as they called it was average. What they called the tiramisu was more like a pudding with some liqueur and chocolate on the top, and a little bit of breadish stuff in the bottom. Not my idea of tiramisu, and probably not yours either. So we could not get too excited about these various dishes. But what was particularly frustrating and bizarre was that two people sitting across from us ordered food that looked absolutely delicious. So we got to sit there wondering why we didn't order what they ordered. They ordered a large beef dish with potatoes which is on the menu, and we think they ordered a large octopus meal although we are not sure. Everything they had looked better than anything we had. So it may be that we somehow just picked the wrong items. So it was a strangely frustrating meal. This place has good reviews and we expected good tasting food. Unfortunately it did not work out that way, and the ambience and service were negative contributing factors. I can't entirely write this place off, only because the food other diners received actually looked very good. But I don't think I would go there again.

I knew nothing about it at the time, so I wasn't surprised later when I checked Yelp and saw how consistently praised it is. The restaurant sits directly across from the stunning Baroque San Luis de los Franceses (18th century). From the moment I walked in to ask about the menu and timing, the team was incredibly welcoming and patient, carefully explaining how everything works. We took a short walk to explore the neighborhood, got lost on the way back, and somehow found our way back just in time before the restaurant closing. Despite that, the staff remained warm and accommodating, especially when helping us navigate the wine and jerez selections. I was too tired and out of practice with my Spanish, so I reluctantly switched to English, and it was still completely fine. The food was outstanding, exactly as everyone says. There are no substitutions, and once you've eaten there, you understand why! Everything is intentional. They go out of their way to accommodate you within their philosophy and to make the whole "slow food" experience feel thoughtful, relaxed, and special.
