Heard from some friends that LaPizca has good Mexican food, so we popped in and game them a try. LaPizca had a very nice atmosphere going for it, was very clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I know you are going to be shocked, but we ordered some Margaritas, with our chips and sala/queso, relaxed and looked through the menu. The food here was really very good. We were impressed. I had simple Ground Beef Enchiladas which I really enjoyed and my wife had the Quesi Taco Birria: 3 Homemade corn tortillas stuff with Birra and Oaxaca Cheese, sprinkled with queso and cilantro that she absolutely loved. Everything I tried was tasty, however, going towards the end of the buffet time they weren't replenishing as much and some stuff had been sitting awhile. We had heard good things about La Pizca in town and we're excited to try the Conroe location. but Boy, were we disappointed. We went early and no one was in the place. My wife had chicken fajitas and I had chile rellenos. Neither was good. The charro beans were luke warm and had little seasoning. The green sauce, on the other hand, had so much heat, neither of us could eat it. The waitress said she hears that a lot. The "red" sauce wasn't a sauce at all - just thick cut vegetables in a broth - also with very little flavor. The worst part of the meal was the margarita. It was was undrinkable. An almost mustard color and a very strong fake mix flavor. The only redeeming factor was the waitress. She was very nice. read more

This is a great new restaurant in town! The food tastes great and the servers are fast and friendly. The salsa that comes with the chips is fresh and has great flavor. We also ordered the guacamole which was delicious. We ordered fajitas and pollo en mole. The fajitas rival the flavor of Lupe Tortilla. They're juicy and seasoned perfectly. The Pollo en Mole was juicy with a combination of flavors. It had pickled red onions and cotija cheese on top. It rested on a bed of sweet and spicy mole. The inside is decorated very upscale. I moved to Texas last April and have not found any Mexican food I truly enjoy. My mom managed a Mexican restaurant for over 20 years before she passed away, so I am a snob when it comes to food because I literally grew up eating Mexican food. My friends took me here yesterday for lunch and all I can say is WOW! The ambience of the restaurant is warm and cozy, not loud. Our server was Tammy. Tammy is a doll and you're lucky if you get her! We immediately were served chips and salsa. My friends warned me it was hot. I said to myself, being it on! Damn it was good! The perfect kick that hits your palate a few moments later. Nice chunky salsa but not too chunky. It was perfect. The chips were solid too! I ordered the tacos and they were out of this world. The cheese was perfectly crispy and the shell was dipped in just enough sauce. It's the flavors that had my taste buds moaning for more haha! The beans were of perfect consistency. The rice was fresh, warm, soft and flavorful. I was able to sample my friend's ceviche. Oh man, I can't wait to come back and have that dish during the summer ! YUM! And they give you so much! My other friend had the Chili Reno and he could not stop talking about how good it was. They've tried a few dishes there and have loved every item they've ordered. I finally found some authentic Mexican food in Conroe and this restaurant will 100 percent be my go to ! It's kind of off the beaten path so I don't think it gets the attention it truly deserves. Food and atmosphere was good. For a mexican cuisine restaurant they were a little pricier than average for food and beer.

We finally tried this newly opened Mexican restaurant for dinner. We we're seated right away since there's not much people there. Right away my glass of water has paper in it (we guessed probably the sticker from the lime). It was replaced when we asked the guy. I ordered the quessabirria tacos since I was craving for it. I read good reviews from it from a local group. As soon as I saw it I know it's not as good as I'm used to. The taco shells were mushy, the consume is bland (just tastes oily and looks too oily as well), there's little hard unknown pieces from the tacos as well. See pictures as attached. My son is not a fan too and we love birria tacos and this is not it. My husband had beef enchiladas, he said the taste is ok but the portion is too little. My daughter is probably the happiest one, she finished her chicken enchiladas. Overall we're not coming back and would prefer a food truck or other restaurants that's better. Other people's reviews are really not reliable at all, they don't know good Mexican food. read more

Absolutely love this new authentic Mexican restaurant! I had the kiwi margarita and it was delicious, strong, and you can taste the fresh chunks of kiwi in it. Also had the Jamaica Margarita, loved it. Tried the aguachiles and they were so delicious and spicy. For my entree I had the Steak Oaxaca. The Mole sauce was so delicious, you could taste a hint of chocolate but it was more savory than sweet with the spices and meat. The steak was tender and delicious and the fried plantains were perfect! For dessert tried the tres leches and Chipotle chocolate cake which were both so yummy. Just finished dining here with my wife. Atmosphere is very nice. The place has a good vibe. Service was lacking. It is a Friday night, and if I'm guessing, it's because there were not enough servers to cover the restaurant - or it could also be a lack of experience. We sat without drinks for most of our meal. Drinks were refilled only once during the meal. Chips and salsa didn't arrive at the table until we asked. Personal opinion - the salsa was too hot for our personal taste...but that's not a knock against the restaurant. Biggest disappointment was the lack of attention to service. We had a sweet young girl as our server. She seemed to work hard...but perhaps she wasn't familiar with the menu. I ordered the Flautas. They were very good. My wife ordered the tacos Al carbone...they were ok. Not a lot of flavor, but the tortillas were homemade and very good. I truly hope they succeed. I've been noticing how many people brag about this place on a local social group. I finally got to go and let me tell you, the food is really delicious. We had beef fajitas, the flavor is comparable to Pappasito's except better! I can't wait to go back and try one of the great mixed drinks and more delicious food. The service was on spot. Came here for Mother's Day brunch new spot for Mexican food they have some Tex mex dishes and traditional Mexican menu options place is clean and lots of parking, service was perfect since we were one of the first guests there, server was pleasant and I asked for "spicier " salsa tell me why the cook made a fresh batch of habanero sauce just for me was not expecting that at all such a great perk ! Got my go-to dish, cheese enchiladas, because if you nail that, I'll likely come back and try other things. It had great flavor. The reason for four instead of five stars is that I prefer that dish piping hot. Don't get me wrong, it was well cooked and warm and I ate the whole dang thing. My husband and I had lunch today at La Pizca and the food was really good, Everything was very tasty. I would like to point out that our waiter was sort of surly, curt and not at all pleasant. He also refilled my husband's ice tea and didn't refill mine or ask if I wanted more tea. Overall, the server's demeanor took away from the dining experience. Friendly and prompt service (shout out to Hilda!) and delicious house margaritas ($5 during happy hour and made with lime and orange juice instead of mix--yum). My favorite dishes so far have been the pepper steak and chicken veggie plate. The enchiladas suizas are good, too. Queso and guac are both delicious.
