This store has been around since 1908 and might just be the oldest shop we have featured. A family run business situated in the longest shopping street of the Netherlands provides a great selection of quality wines, meats, bread and other delicious foods. If you are looking for a nice lunch Vermeyden is also a good option with a nice terrace outside as well. They will be happy to serve you whether it is a take-a-way sandwich or a coffee. But if you are in the mood for something more extraordinary visit the cheese counter where they will also tempt your taste buds with nuts and other delicatessen. There is a reason why they have been here for so long and my guess is they will not leave anytime soon. They also have the most amazing delicacies on offer; it's like a sweet shop for grown-ups! Wether you're into sweet or savoury, they have everything; cheeses, meats, olives, chocolates, biscuits and more. Tip: I find it hard to get a mocha in Rotterdam but the staff were really nice and excited about trying something new when I asked for a hot chocolate with a shot of espresso; I would highly recommend the result!
