First visit to Myrtle Beach and it did not disappoint. Was at a HGV meeting and asked my rep for some authentic Mexican food recommendations and this is where he guided us to and this place did not disappoint! You can dine-in or carry-out. It's a spacious restaurant with a good amount of parking. We came for dinner and I had the queso Birria that was amazing! There was a lot of meat and the shell was fried to a perfect crisp. It came with a big cup of consommé that had a lot of stuffing in it. My friend had 2 of the carne asada tacos. Their homemade chips were soooo good that it was hard to stop eating it. They gave you 3 different types of salsa. My favorite was the spicy and the onion salsas. It was soooo good that I came back the next day and ordered 2 burritos for my flight home. I got a lengua and a carne asada burrito. It came with a choice of rice or beans and I went with the rice. Loved the rice!!! Burrito was delish too! Can't wait for another visit to go back here. This place is a hidden gem. First things first, I walked in and saw a large latino clientele, many of them with their family's so I knew I was in the right place. Let me just say I won't get certain things if I don't think it's going to be done right here I trusted the vibes immediately so I got a taco de langua, a beef taco and a chicken taco. The cow tongue was the best. I also got 2 empanadas one chicken one beef, the beef was better. My husband got the Enchiladas De Mole and said it was the best mole he ever had. What a wonderful find. A Mexican restaurant with no combination plates on the menu, just a wonderful selection of individual entrees with a description that was complete and told you what something was and what you would be getting. Prices were lower than expected and while we were there the clientele seemed to be mostly Hispanic, a testament to the quality that we experienced. There is something for everyone on the menu. Service was great, but notably when I received my unsweetened ice tea, they had no sweetners. I accepted the situation after the manager came over to make sure that the waitress understood what I was asking for correctly. Several minutes later, the waitress appeared with Splenda and Equal. She had gone to the restaurant several doors down to borrow/buy from them, moving the service to an outstanding level and indicating their commitment to having the best possible experience while dining there. read more

Found this hole in the hall through other Yelp reviews. Little place off the tourist trap path. I am VERY lucky with my Mexican food and I have to say I want this place in Northern CO! The chips and salsa was great! You get chips, salsa and 3 different sauces in pour bottles. Salsa is mild and there is a mild, medium and hot sauces too. All of the food was simply delicious. Tortillas are homemade and I figure the chips are as well. Giant portions for small change. 3 enchilada with beans and rice was under $13 and I couldn't eat it all! Only downside is no liquor...a margarita or beer would have hit the spot. We will probably be returning during our vacation here and will recommend. read more

Ok, so, this is in a VERY crowded little strip mall, a little off the main paths in Myrtle that I can see some people being wary of pulling into, but this is a true little gem. I knew when we walked in and the locals were all there enjoying their own culture's foods, combined with the incredible smells, that this was going to be good and it did not disappoint. This simple "mom & pop" place was filled with Hispanics when we walked in. It was obviously not a chain restaurant but an authentic Mexican restaurant. Complimentary chips and salsa (3 different types) were very good. Enchiladas with Mole Sauce were excellent with perfect amount of spice not to overcome the mole flavors. Yelp has done it again! We are in town for a cheer competition & my daughter was in the mood for tacos and boy oh boy La Poblanita did not fail. We ate at this restaurant last Friday. We are from out of town and wanted to try some thing else other than seafood. Everything was delicious especially my Carne Asada gordita. My sister's boyfriend said it was the best one he's ever had. He frequently eats Mexican food in New York where he lives. We were both pleasantly surprised to get the horchata refills. i've been to a few Mexican restaurants and they've never returned with the pitcher to refill the horchata. I also got the lingua and intestines gorditas. The visit came with free chips and salsa. Enough for four people pre-entres. We came around 5 PM so the dinner rush hadn't arrived yet. After reading the reviews on Yelp, we went to La Poblanita for dinner. I read that you shouldn't judge from the outside and I agree. It's out of the way in a small strip center. We were quickly served chips a 3 kinds of salsa, al of which were good, but one of them very spicy. We ordered the Mole enchiladas and a quesadilla and both were great. I have been to Myrtle and have struggled to find a good Mexican food spot. I am picky but this genuinely made the up for all the mediocre food I had during my trip. The aguas frescas were very reasonably priced and you can tell they were made with REAL fruit and not just a powder and water mix. The food itself came out hot and not only looked amazing but tasted fantastic. The service was alright I could tell the waitresses were trying.
