A shortage of approachable quality restaurants in the middle range make this an even bigger treat. A nice departure from the usual burger , sandwiches, and fries café's. Breakfast is spartan but coffee is good. You can order at many cafe's a tartine (" tart-teen ") to get a reliable fresh baguette with butter and hopefully some confiture (jam). Tartines are not often listed in most morning coffee places, but you can usually ask for it.
