    Breakfast casserole

On my second visit to this place, I found some consisten and inconsistent features. The place is nice and with enough space for decent crowds. They display their breads, pastries, and quiches proudly. The eye easily wants to looks at those colors and textures. Starting this journey, the better half and my friend ordered deliciously buttered croissants. They don't need anything else, believe me. I started with a tiny bowl of cafe au lait. Then, we ordered our breakfast: a breakfast casserole, the Paris sandwich, and the croque monsieur. The sandwich and the breakfast casserole were great and tasty, as described by my party. My croque monsieur was, unfortunately a let down. The bread was soggy and floppy. The ham inside was good but the overall flavor of the sandwich was mediocre. The fries were the hero of my dish, though. Our server was attentive, quick, and funny. However, waiting 40 mins for our food to come out with two-thirds of the tables filled, and seeing later parties getting their food wait ahead of hours, left a bitter taste in my mouth. The ticket came with the full cost and very little explanation for a 40 minute delay. C'est la Quiche, je suppose.

My wife finally found her weekend brunch spot! We went to La Quiche over 3 straight weekends and the food was spot on. 10/10! The servers were so polite and goes above and beyond with our requests. If you are craving authentic croissants this is it: buttery, soft on the inside and crispy layers on the outside. Truly deserving their name, a French bistro ambiance in ABQ Northeast!

4.5 stars Came here yesterday for a Saturday morning breakfast. My friend and I had walked in to check out the menu after shopping a few months ago and decided that we must return. Service was friendly and a little on the slower side (about 45 minutes from arrival to food being placed on the table), so enjoy and sip your coffee while you wait. The place was about half full during our visit. Even some lunch items on the menu were available for breakfast (like the beef bourguignonne). My friend just got a plain coffee and I got the cafe au lait (which was served in a bowl and frothy but not sweet). I got the crepes (2) and added Nutella as the filling with fruit on the side. The fruit was fresh and flavorful, the thin layer of Nutella in the crepes wasn't overly heavy. My friend got the Le Savory (an egg stuffed croissant with bacon and tomato and on the side, potatoes with a green chile cream sauce). The croissant had a crispy, flaky coating on the outside when cutting into it. The assortment of pastries and desserts was decadent and we ordered two croissants and a chocolate almond tart to go. The tart (complete with gold glitter on top) was an amazing combination of nutty and rich. All in all, we will probably be back so I'll report on the quiche next time. One of the downsides was the credit card transaction fees and a minimum purchase of $10 in order to use the card. 2025 #40

Pretty good experience! This restaurant is close to my house, so convenience led my husband and I to try it out. Service wise, experience was lackluster. There were a few open tables but the staff didn't acknowledge us or sit us for quite a while. I was kind of surprised they didn't say anything because I'm very obviously pregnant and was just standing around waiting. The food wasn't amazing either, but it was pretty good. I'd go back because the convenience and food being ok- but if I lived further away I wouldn't make the trek. Hopefully the service problem was a one time deal. I'll review again if I try it out for a second time!

The first time I tried the delicious pastries from La Quiche was at their farmers market stand a few years ago--the chocolate almond croissant was life-changing, and I don't say that lightly. The filling, the rich chocolate is the perfect balance of flavors and textures. I didn't know about their restaurant until a few years later, and it's a shining example of what a French restaurant should be. The place is tiny. You walk in and wait to be seated. If you're there for fresh-baked bread and pastries, head straight to the counter for quicker service. It's a bit loud, a bit chaotic, but in the best way. You can see the cooks working hard in the open kitchen, sweating and moving fast to whip up something amazing. The servers are kind and attentive, and the food is out of this world. The mussels are incredible, which are hard to come by in this landlocked state, but these were high quality. They have several quiche options to take home or enjoy in-house, but my favorite dish is their classic breakfast: buttery eggs, a buttery croissant, and perfectly cooked potatoes in a rich green chile cream sauce that's to die for. After your visit, stop by the bookstore next door. It makes for the most beautiful morning.

This is clearly an established, smooth restaurant operation. Multiple servers were attentive to my needs and the wait was brief despite a busy crowd of large tables. The feel inside was warm, not overly commercial despite the strip mall location, with an inviting pastry case and inventive visual elements, like books (for reading during wait) arrayed on the hostess stand. The food was solid, but this is one area where improvements could be made, I had the eggs bechamel and the sauce/bread flavor, while not poor, could be dialed in with more precision.

Our new favorite breakfast spot! The atmosphere is fun and it feels like being transported to France. The ingredients are fresh and thoughtfully prepared. I am a vegetarian who doesn't care for eggs but have found lots of things to enjoy . It's nice to have found a place that values quality ingredients and a peaceful environment. À ta santé!

Nice lunch spot. Decent food for a reasonable price. If you count dessert only I would go 5 stars !! The food is simple French fair. Someone left a review and said the coffee was bad, but my espresso was good. Maybe it's changed or maybe it's a matter of taste. The guy who helped us was French and we were able to have a nice conversation in French with him. As for ambiance, I really like the murals.

Bottom line: EAT HERE! Experience it at least once. I personally love this place and have been following them from downtown to the far east side for years. My husband and I love going here. It's one of our special spots. Food: mussels provencale (spelling might be off) are glorious and the fries and bread that come with it are heavenly. Hubby gets either the frenchy or the patè (sandwiches). We wash it all down with a few glasses of champagne. Food to-go: Take home some of their quiches! They keep well and bake very easily. Pro tip: dip the bread into the broth of the mussels .... It's another favorite part. Service: On any given day the service might be slow but I swear it's worth it. Ambiance: We love the open kitchen and the crowd here is always friendly and welcoming. The restaurant is simple and clean BUT their food is ALWAYS delicious.

I will admit I had some reservations about this place from previous posts and pictures that I saw online, however, definitely don't knock this place till you try it. We showed up for dinner and immediately noticed a smaller restaurant with the vibe of France. Our server immediately greeted us with warm smiles and sat us down near the front window. He was extremely knowledgeable about the foods and type of wines they had available. Food- WAS AMAZING. We ordered an appetizer and 2 entrees; everything came out in a timely manner. We never felt rushed even when we noticed that the restaurant started to get packed. We will admit there is one guy running the entire front of house, but he did an amazing job catering to everyone. We ordered the Onglet Shallots Hanger Steak and Fruit De Mer. Everything was cooked perfectly and we were informed that everything was made by hand!! Plus we were able to take the flowers home with us! Our server informed us that the vase was from a local shop nearby as well as the flowers! Definitely will be returning to try more on the menu!

I loved all the French decor idea, but I do think they could revamp a few details in that department. The food was outstanding! We ordered the French Onion soup which, from the photos, you can tell was excellent. Cheese pull galore on that Gruyère! We also shared the escargot, because where else can you jump on that opportunity.... The snails were buttery and divine. Very happy with that choice. For the main we shared the beef tenderloin wrapped in pastry, or beef Wellington. This was my favorite part of the meal. It was cooked beautifully, nice rare in the middle. The reduction sauce paired beautifully with the melt in your mouth tenderloin. I wish they had more beer selection, all they had was Heineken and Guinness. But many wines to choose from. It was definitely an experience coming here. Would recommend, but don't forget to make a reservation.

I did not have a reservation, and was dining as a single, and they worked me right in to a great spot at what they called the dessert bar. From my perch, I got to see the chefs in action, which I always enjoy. The decor is very comfortable, with linen napkins, and nice size tables. Staff is very friendly and attentive, but not smothering. The menu has many choices and there were specials to choose from. The foods here have a French flair, but there are American and New Mexican style choices available.Ghere is a very nice wine list and very reasonable prices of the wines. There's a special place in my heart for meatloaf, because in our house growing up, it was a comfort food that was served every Monday. It was on the menu tonight and how could I resist? This was an outstanding presentation. I really enjoyed the green beans cut to the short lengths as shown in the picture. A little bit of lemon zest gave them some brightness. The potato wedges were done to perfection with a little bit of Browning on the outside and a very creamy inside. The meatloaf was tender and had layers of flavor in the sauce. For dessert, the brownie with ice cream on top and chocolate sauce may sound ordinary, but it was a real find. Delicate ice cream with fresh mint. The brownie was tender and had a chocolate flavor, but not overwhelming. Prices match the quality of the wonderful food in this place.

Although…read moreI appreciate a short menu and hate menus longer than a page, this menu was almost too abbreviated. Food: 3 There weren't many appetizers to choose from, so we chose deviled eggs and bread. The deviled eggs were good, but they were just deviled eggs. The bread was startling small (but made sense with the low price). Ribeye Steak with Shiitake Mushrooms: The ribeye steak was cooked medium rare as requested, but I would have preferred a thicker cut. Although it tasted fine, it was literally just a piece of meat with some mushrooms on a plate. Most places with simple entrees like this have side options, but there weren't really any besides mac & cheese or fries. Tuna Salad Nicoise: This was probably the best savory dish of the night. It had a good balance of texture and flavor. This is what I expected Frenchish to be like - simple traditional dishes done well to make for a balanced and interesting dish. Saint Sebastian Burnt Cheesecake was excellent. It was not too sweet and had the right amount of tang. The burnt top added a nice texture change and charred flavor to a light dessert. Chocolate Burrito: If you want a rich and decadent dessert, look no further. This is a crepe wrapped around vanilla bean ice cream and covered in chocolate and caramel. It is fairly sweet but the peanuts add a crunchy texture and saltiness to balance it out. Service: 3.5 The host and waitstaff were excellent. The low score is for the timing of the food. We got appetizers and the salad for the table to share, but we finished all of those long before our entrees came out. I expect restaurants like this to have better timing, particularly since it wasn't super busy that night, with entrees coming out maybe 5-10 mins after appetizers are done. Ambiance: 4 The restaurant is nice. It has lots of seating but does not feel overcrowded, and it is fairly quiet. The biggest problem is that it is hard to find parking in Nob Hill.

So its a bit awkward because there is a sign asking you not to seat yourself until you've ordered your food. It can make you feel a little anxious because if its really busy, where are you going to sit. We saw people waiting around not knowing what to do. Let me start by saying our food took way too long to come out, I even saw someone walk out because they were waiting so long on their food. I saw someone waiting for their food who sat close to us, and it turned out to be a to-go and I was like darn, that felt like they waited 20+ mins. For what they have on their menu, I feel like they should be able churn out food orders pretty quick. A couple who ordered after us, got their full food order before we I got my French toast and everyone else at our table got their food. It felt like 10-15 min wait on my food after everyone at the table got theirs. There was also an issue with our order because we were waiting on a side, but then I guess it was never added to our order per our server. We sat in the front corner and you can see the whole cook area, this also means if ventilation isn't on point, your clothes will soak in that aroma, like my jacket did. Food itself was good, nothing bad about what we received, but the wait time on food was way too long. I was leaning a 3.5 star which would make it a 4 star review, but the hiccup with the order along with the wait time just killed my experience. Not going to lie, I went to Filiberto's afterwards because I was still hungry after eating my stuff French toast and half of my girlfriend bagel.
