Great hotel for a decently cheap rate, location was ideal for visiting family in both Walker and Baton Rouge. I called before arriving to ensure I was going to be able to check-in in the middle of the night since I was driving from Orlando - I'm glad I called because with arriving at 3a, I would've been marked as a no-show at 2a. Parking did fill up quickly and definitely not enough handicapped spaces, especially since one is reserved for veterans only; luckily I don't have a wheelchair, otherwise I would've been SOL. My phone seemed to work better using cellular data instead of their wifi, but my laptop had no issues connecting. Check-in/out was super quick and easy, the front desk ladies were wonderful and friendly. Ice machine was broken for the entirety of my stay (4 nights), but that's really my only major gripe. read more

The good: I stayed at La Quinta by Wyndham Walker - Denham Springs for the evening and I was pleased with my stay. The hotel is located near the interstate and several restaurants. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with a microwave and fridge. The breakfast was limited but okay. The bad: The staff wasn't very personable ( hey that may be their policy for all I know). The room stayed cooler than I liked despite adjusting the thermostat to a higher setting. I'd stay here again mainly because the bed was super comfortable and I slept throughout the night. Which is very rare for me when I travel. read more

Pulling up I was optimistic and check in was great. Friendly and knowledgeable front desk. Got up to room, walked in, looked at my husband and said "Oh hell yes." Room smells fresh, is very clean, good paint and carpet and instantly we were comfortable. My faith in LQ is fully restored and they do not charge extra for the dog. I was asked to sign a pet agreement but its standard language - keep the dog under control and if it does damage you are responsible. 100% okay with that and loved this location was literally right off the exit ramp of I-12. We stayed here twice - once on our drive to Texas and then on the way back we opted to stay here again since it worked so well the first time. Staff is friendly, lots of light in the parking lot so I felt safe. The breakfast isn't anything to write home about, but grab and go hotel breakfasts never are. The rooms were quiet and clean. The bathrooms could have used some love, they weren't the cleanest but they weren't overwhelmingly gross either. Love that they allow dogs. Close to the highway, gas station, and food/coffee. read more

Due to an ice storm and power outages, we booked a room here for the night. The clerk was super accommodating, despite the fact that she was overwhelmed with guests, the phone ringing every seconds, etc. (5 stars for her). The front desk appeared clean, which was good, however we are in a pandemic and the mask policy was absolutely NOT enforced at all. People unmasked, coughing and hacking in the lobby, just terrible. I just hate that the nice ladies at the front desk have to be exposed to that. They're so great at what they do, they deserve better. Additionally, the smell of smoke almost choked us when we made it to the elevator. The room appeared neat and clean until I looked down beside the bed and noticed pills on the floor. The heat also did not work in the room...we waited for at least an hour to make sure, before I went downstairs to let the front desk know (no answer when I called to inform them but that was understandable, since I know they were overwhelmed and understaffed). The nice young lady at the front desk did inform me that she would come up and check it but as soon as I got back to the room, the power went out. The power outage was no fault of there's, but needless to say, we left. They don't have generators or back up power, so just be aware of that, if you're going because of inclement weather/outages, etc. Thank God our home power was restored. The front desk staff was awesome. This hotel was renovated a year or two ago, so the rooms aren't old and run down, they're pretty decent. I think under different circumstances, our stay would have been enjoyable. read more

On a back road very clean front desk was nice and helpful. Walls are thick and quiet as long as you aren't in the hall. Only complaint was about another guest who was fighting with his wife in the hall (how I know the walls work) front desk took care of the issue after I called down. The only thing to be commended about this hotel is the nighttime clerk, Ms. Phyllis. She was so sweet, and I was very satisfied with the service she provided. I really believe she did as much, as best she could. That said, this hotel is the one reason I will never consider LaQuinta a viable option going forward. I checked in very late, roughly 2:30am. As soon as I stepped into the elevator, I smelled marijuana. My room was on the second floor, which I found was the source of the smoke/smell. Room 217 had loud music playing and people talking and laughing with smoke coming from around the door. The entire floor smelled. My room key didn't work, which gave me ample excuse to go back down to the lobby and request another room as well as report the incident. I was given another room on the third floor; again the key didn't work. I headed back downstairs, by now it's after 3am and I just want to go to bed. Ms. Phyllis went back up with me to check the keys, where it was determined the keys weren't programming properly. I asked to be moved to the first floor as I was too tired to keep lugging everything I had with me, and she accommodated my request. I was able to get in a room, but the floors were grimy and had remnants of pet waste in the corner by the AC unit, which wasn't cooling properly. I asked why the police weren't called regarding the illegal activities occurring on the premises, and I was told the manager would have to be asked before the police could be called. Illegal activities jeopardize the safely of all guests and staff; why wouldn't the police be contacted? To me if you allow these activities to go on in your hotel you're setting a precedent, but that does explain a lot about this hotel. At this point I was way too tired to do anything other than shower and sleep. The bathroom was clean and the beds seemed clean as well, thank God. There were plenty of pillows on the beds and the room location was okay. Why didn't I leave, you ask? Because I was stuck for two nights as I'd prepaid and was told by the day clerk I couldn't be refunded. Flat out, no refund. There was not a manger on site, nor would there be over the weekend according to the day clerk. She said the manager would call me, but needless to say they never did. I am upset about the fact that I couldn't get my money back and had to just stick this out, and I'm sad to see what was once a decent hotel chain in such a shambles; where illegal activities are apparently welcomed and guest safety is not a concern. Never another LaQuinta; under no circumstances will I stay in one again, and as far as I'm concerned that includes the entire Wyndham property line. read more

This hotel looks nice on the outside but literally one of the most disgusting places I have stayed..... the front desk clerk was rude to add to it. She obviously didn't want to work. The room was clean to the eye but as we started to unpack we noticed hairs (of all kinds) pee stains on the bathroom floor as well as more hairs... toothpaste residue from the last guest and hardly anything was wiped down. I don't really care about germs, but this was just gross.... I literally felt like I was sleeping on the same sheets as the previous guest. The light switch even had makeup smudged on it. If you are considering this hotel you should know it was catastrophically damaged in the large flood of Aug 2016. The first floor is in middle of construction, many walls are missing, they don't even have walls on the only usable toilet. No elevators, and only the third floor available. We are older and there was no offer of help with luggage at all, no breakfast, nothing. Look at our record. I don't ever give poor reviews. This place is a disaster. I feel very sorry for the people here, but this is a real mess for a traveler. read more

It was this La Quinta location that improved our view of the chain after a night spent at their Hattisburg location. Caught in a driving rain storm late in the day, On-Star told us we were just 2 miles from this location and called ahead to secure a room. Fortunately our experience at this property was the reverse of our Hattisburg stay. Nice lobby, helpful desk clerk, very nice room, good A/C and Wi-Fi. Good choices for breakfast with a helpful attendant. One minor complaint, we arrived about 8 PM on a Friday night and the only "soda" machine was out of bottled water and I guess would remain that way through the weekend. It's too bad that a first class property operator like this location might get avoided because of the Mississippi experience. We would gladly stay here again, but it seems La Quinta doesn't have very strict standards, which makes planning future stops difficult. read more

I know what you're thinking - why go back?! There's one hotel that I know of in Walker, that's why. Sure, Denham has them but that's not where we're trying to be. We need to accept it and either stick to family or go to Denham. I've updated with pictures of the black mold/mildew that was in the bathroom and the ceiling (which is what they all look like, leaked and patchy). This place is so falling apart, it's pathetic. First of all I will point out that the resion I dropped it from 5 to 3 star was the fact that the future has sticky smudges all over it I wiped down some with a hand wipe and what really makes this place not a good choice is the fact that none of the walls have insulation so you can hear everything everyone is doing like the neighbor across the hall arguing with their whoever they're arguing with on the phone. A couple of neighbors checking in after 12 a.m. being Extremely Loud on one end and on the other end the neighbor is so sick you can hear them coughing and hacking constantly for hours on end until you wake up the next day and you leave this hotel why you would let someone sick in your hotel I don't know why but you did and I hope you sanitize room 204 but seeing that this is a Wyndham Hotel and they don't sanitize anything ever I seriously doubt that would happen . Well at least you can bring your loud pets with you and let them make noises to the point the people down the hall here it . This place really needs to look into soundproofing some of the rooms read more

My family and I stayed here for our last visit to Denham Springs Louisiana. Let me tell you this place was a lot better then the last placed we stayed at for our previous trip back in October. The staff was friendly and nice. They actually speak to you and ask you how your day is going. The bed were comfortable. Plenty of Pillows! Our room had a Microwave and fridge. Perfect for late night munchies! The breakfast offered here was AWESOME... Scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, bagels,toast, cereal, OJ and coffee. I have stayed here twice now with my dog and this is a terrific hotel. Its nice and clean, very modern. Margo at the front desk is incredibly helpful and very kind. It is a great place for a dog. They put us on the first floor both times near the door to get outside. All the floors are tile and laminate so it's perfect for a dog. And there's plenty of grassy room to run around outside. The breakfast is actually really good and includes biscuits and gravy. We will stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone else, especially those traveling with pets. read more

We were passing through and needed a place for the night however after check in we found the sink faucet was totally broken, the shower curtain had to be removed and reinstalled as it was installed in a twisted manner. Once settled in we had to take the dog out and there were people doing drug deals in the parking lot. I would not stay here again. Trash and garbage everywhere. Stayed at La Quinta in Denham Springs Louisiana yesterday 3-3-20. Hotel was just off of I-12 so very convenient. Outside grounds were kept very well . Staff friendly. Rooms clean and adequate for our one night stay . Breakfast was powdered eggs that tasted like fish . A few biscuits that were old and stale and had gravy. And a pan of what looked like round Canadian bacon. Also cereal , waffles and other carbs. I ended up eating hard boiled eggs and coffee. I stay at La Quinta when we travel due to pets. 'This location was fine but the breakfast was not up to snuff for the typical La Quinta. read more

Trashy front desk staff. No receipt under door so I waited for 15 mins while 2 staff flirt with a roughneck brfore I can finally get a damn receipt. Carpet and paint is very bad condition. But they are pet friendly for an additional fee. Small town place, ok area. Grab a nights sleep if you must. Place is nicely layed out but also pretty worn. I think 2 stars describes it well. Our third night on the road in the LQ chain and this one so far is the best. We had a nice one last night in Terrell, TX, but the exercise room here puts it in first place. The room is VERY clean with only a couple of small spots on the carpet, but otherwise, seems like new. It is a plus to be able to get a little exercise in when on the road which in my book beats a pool. The laundry facility is super clean and also a plus. I will put this. one in my bookmarks and stay here again when I travel this way in the future. read more

First have to say the lady working the front desk is a sweetheart The hotel is almost full and she went out of her way to find me a pillow which was to sweet! I asked for extra shampoo bc I have thick hair she gave me a bag full of goodies including shampoo conditioner body lotion make up remover Alcohol wipes. As for the hotel we are very satisfied with our room beds are huge and super comfy!!! Very nice decor I love all the paintings of LA! The lobby is very nice with a computer and flatscreen TV with plenty of lounge seating. That is also very comfy. The breakfast is good with a lot of options! The pool is nice sized. I also love the bathroom vanity in our room. Overall I would def recommend it! For 100$ a night you can't beat it!! And EVERYTHING u could need is literal walking distance. Air conditioning is broken so every morning we woke up and it was 80 degrees in our room. They diddnt have breakfast. The pool was green. They ran out of towels so we had to re use towels. the ac in our room didnt work. the ladies in the front didnt belive us so i had to go get them and get them to come look. turned out the knob was broken so the ac wouldnt work. we had to go buy a fan at midnight bc they told us that there was nothing else they could do. they also told us our bill would be half off for the inconvinance. they didnt even take off enough money to cover our little fan. manager acted like he could care less the ac was broken. i will never return. read more

I always know when choosing a hotel that I have never stayed in the quality is hit or miss. This hotel is definitely a miss. The bottom 2 floors are under construction because of the flood. That is understandable and forgivable. The elevator doesn't work. Also ok. The issues that I have are this.... the floor in the hallway of the third floor is disgusting. I'm talking dries vomit kind of nasty. The room itself smells horrible. It is a non smoking room that smells like smoke and air freshener mixed (not a good combination). My 12 year old daughter found a pack of cigarettes on the floor ( I guess they didn't check there when cleaning the room? Also explains the smoke small.) The light fixture had no globe. Then.... the lights surrounding the front door don't work. So it is really dark outside where you walk in. The people at the front desk were very indifferent. Like they could careless if we were here or not. And almost seemed like we were bothering them. Oh and no breakfast because of the construction. All in all not recommended until a much later date. read more
