Our family absolutely loves this library and we are frequent visitors. It's one of those places that truly feels like a community hub, and every time we go we discover something new to appreciate about it. One of the first things that makes it so convenient is the ample covered parking, which is especially nice during the hot desert months. The staff has always been friendly, welcoming, and very helpful whenever we have questions or need assistance finding something. My teens especially enjoy coming here because the library has a great teen room with books geared specifically toward their age group. There's also a chess board in the room that they love playing with whenever we visit. It's a great space for teens to hang out, read, and engage their minds in a relaxed environment. Another fun feature we always check out is the table where books are sold for less than a dollar. We've found some really unique and interesting books there over time, and it's always fun to see what new treasures might show up. The library also makes everyday tasks really easy. The printer is quick and simple to use when we need it, which has come in handy more than once. One of my favorite programs they offer is the seed library. Each month you can pick up three free packets of vegetable or flower seeds, which is such a cool and thoughtful offering for the community. The library calendar is always full of fun events and activities for people of all ages, so there's usually something interesting happening. Our favorite part of the library, though, is the Creation Station located down the back hall. It's a really unique program where you can become a member (or attend specific events without being a member) and explore hands-on technology while creating your own projects. The space offers tools like 3D printers, crafting equipment, and digital design resources that allow people of all ages to experiment, learn new skills, and bring creative ideas to life. Our son has especially enjoyed learning how to use the 3D printers there and has made some incredible pieces through the program. It's been such a fun and educational experience for him. The bathrooms are always clean, and there's also a nice enclosed outdoor courtyard area where you can sit and read or simply enjoy a quiet moment. Overall, it's a wonderful library that offers so much more than just books. We're really grateful to have such a fantastic resource in our community. read more

It's not easy to find a space or event that's safe or right for my whole family and that ends in us skipping a lot of things. The library offered a Santa event today & they did a special hour for families like mine with disabled children. I saw it in a local moms group and instantly registered. I got the notice that a hour before the scheduled event that's when our time to go would be and was so happy since lines are very hard for my guy. They came and let us in since we were one of the first families there and from that moment I was so happy I made the effort in going. Everyone was so happy and welcoming. They had crafts, wishes to make for Santa and treats. Everyone and I mean everyone was so kind I really noticed the staff going out of their way to engage with my children especially my autistic child. And let me tell you that rarely happens since he's typically busy scripting and exploring. I really was taken back with the kindness. The Santa that also at this even was very kind and patient as well. I hope he's there every year now! I really can't express how impressed I was with this event and everyone who was there. Definitely made our day and can't wait to tell more people and go to more events they host. read more

The library on Sunday is only open until 1:00 p.m.. this is supposed to be a cooling center for when the desert heat becomes its hottest in July and August but I didn't find that to be the case. If you're trying to escape from the heat and relief on a Saturday or Sunday, you're out of luck at this location. read more

We started our 2024 in La Quinta, CA for a week holiday vacation and I'm so glad we did! I enjoy visiting local libraries wherever I visit, and this library did not disappoint! I enjoyed the quiet various seating spaces and it's right next to a park with a lake and ducks that offers a peaceful setting. The staff was very creative in making an escape room. That was so much fun & kudos to the staff who put that together for the public! I enjoyed my reading in this setting. Highly recommend for anyone visiting. Support your local libraries! read more

This library is fantabulous in every respect. Huge, beautiful, dozens of public computers, helpful staff, a GREAT book sale room, and kids and teens each have their dedicated and wonderfully designed areas. The atmosphere is upbeat. Plus it adjoins one of the most beautiful public parks in the valley! I wasn't going to write any more "public services" reviews because that really isn't what this site/app was created for, but I love libraries so this one gushed right out of me. I'll refrain from reviewing the city itself as some others on Yelp have - but just mention that La Quinta's downtown area is just as appealingly village-like as I'd been told it is. read more

I just love bringing my toddler here to pick up new board books! We came for a fun Halloween event and come back at least every month. We love the little chairs and tables for his section, the plant give-aways, and have discovered new children series he is just crazy about. My son can be a typical toddler and they are always so kind, I appreciate their patience w/ my little book lover. I've also taken advantage of their new program for books, where if they don't have it, you can order it to come straight to your house, read it, then bring it in. And it's free of charge, just an amazing service. Love this library, it's a gem! read more

My classmate and I came here to study today. The environment was just what we needed! It was surprisingly busy, but remained quiet, like a library should be. There is a private study room, and tons of single-desk computer areas. This is the place for your studying, web-surfing, or printing needs. There is a specific hallway for children books and another for adult books. Definitely come by to check out some books or if you need some time to yourself! read more

I really like this library. It's very clean, staff is very friendly and polite. I will admit though, it's not always quiet enough. And I was a little bit underwhelmed by the limited options of languages to learn. I'm sure they could order the audiobooks I was searching for, I just didn't ask. Cute little-big library! I've never checked out any books here, but I'm sure they have a large selection of whatever you need. I always go in for the Internet & to print things. This is a well stocked library. The part that was challenging for us was the check out system which at the times we went had patrons checking out books from the adults/rest of the library and the children's' area too. It was difficult because the children's section, which I was visiting with my four year old son has no partition. So, the noise from the children's section emanates through the library. We really had a great time and return. But it was a challenge because my son was not as quiet as I would like and I was worried about disturbing other patrons. Not sure if making a separation between the spaces is possible... I would not come here to study. Good selection, but not so quiet.... read more

The library is spacious and has vast number of books. The 1 star is for the book inventory and environment. But the staff were terrible. Every time I went there, i saw staff with unwelcoming face. They don't greet users and very indifferent to all users. I can't believe even those working in children's section have the same cold and grumpy face. The manger was the worst. She has the most grumpy face among all staff. I was treated with slamming books on the books' sensor when she checked out my books 15mins before library closed. During the whole check-out time she gave me sighs and grumpy look. I felt like I had done something terribly wrong to them. If the manager is having such a awful manner towards the users, what do you expect for the other staff. I suppose library is a relaxing place for users to read stress-free. And reading is fun! It seems to me that they are working in a hostile environment that they hate books and don't even enjoy working there. It's the most unwelcoming place I've been to in the whole Coachella. Usually I'd choose to check out books in self-checkout counters to avoid facing the half-hearted staff. I'd give negative stars if I could. read more

This library is very noisy!!!!! Although the staff is polite and helpful, they are the nosiest out of everybody. They are inconsiderate of the people who are there quietly trying to concentrate on their studies. If you're looking for a quiet place to study and focus, unfortunately this is not the place. read more
