Despite being cheap, it was still way better than most ice cream I've ever had. I don't really feel like it was gelato, despite some of the flavors being what I'd consider "traditional" for gelato. I had a cone of stracciatella, and it was really good. There were too many things to choose from, so I just went with a flavor I know I like instead of guessing and taking something random, which would have been okay too. It's definitely a place to go when an ice cream craving hits in Strasbourg, and the lines are long for all those much more expensive places nearby.

Nobody in Strasbourg spoke English, and neither did the employees there, but wow, they sure were nice. They were so sweet to us and made every effort to communicate with us. We had delicious quiche and croque monseur, then we purchased chocolates and candies. We came back the next day to buy various pastries. The food was delicious, the people were genuinely kind, and our visit to their patisserie made our trip very special.
