You can never go wrong with a taco truck, no matter where you are and I found comfort in that. After traveling into Slidell, I was starving and needed something to hold me over until the wedding, so I found a local taco truck that has some fantastic reviews! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Super easy to find with plenty of parking on a lot. You can eat in your car or there is a covered area with benches to eat.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The truck is blue and sits smack dab in the middle of the lot, so you can't miss it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They do take credit cards/apple pay, so that was a plus! Menu was highly extensive with options with tacos and more - and let me get started with the protein options! I had buche and lengua and your classics of al pastor and asada. The tortillas were nicely toasted and the protein portion was more than filling. Love that everything came out hot and fresh and didn't have any issues. I get worried ordering not your usual proteins, especially at a new place. Prices were fair and highly recommend stopping by if you need to get your tacos fix! Authentic and delicious comida Mexicana! We were kindly greeted as we went up to order. I was passing through town and wanted something to eat, but not fast food. I had tacos: asada, al pastor, and chicken. They were all pretty solid, well seasoned and simple like a taco should be. I had one pork tamale. I got very excited when I opened the foil and saw a banana leaf. The subtle sweet of the banana leaves contrasted very well with the heat of the tamale. The masa was so creamy. This may be the best tamale I've had since Pupuseria Divino Corazon in Gretna closed. read more

Food is excellent and so are the prices. They have the best empanadas I've ever eaten, and my husband loves the tacos. Only I wouldn't recommend ordering from them through Door Dash, on site for us from now on. Of the 3 times we ordered delivery, 2 of the orders were wrong. First visit to this new eatery. It is a taco trailer with a couple of picnic tables under a canopy for eating there. I had a carne asada taco which came with cilantro and onions on it, a wedge of lime, and a small container of sauce. The taco was really good. A bit small but not bad for $2. The sauce added some heat but not much in the way of complex flavor. I had a carne asada quesadilla as well, that was excellent. It had just meat and cheese on it, but the flavor of the meat and toasty cheese worked well together. It came with the same lime wedge and sauce as the taco. The last item I got was the pork tamale. It was wrapped in both a banana leaf and aluminum foil. The masa was very soft and mushy. Definitely not a style of tamale I liked. Overall it was good, the service was quick and friendly. Located on the corner of Gause and 8th Street in Slidell, you'll find a small turquoise trailer in the gravel lot. Out of that trailer come the best smells!! My favorites are the tacos!! All kinds of tacos, ground beef, steak, pork. Mm Mm Good! They sell all sorts of Mexican delights, tamales, tortas, etc. It's a must try place!! With the current uptick in the food truck community this litte gem on Gause Blvd in Slidell La is truly a GREAT pick me up for Mexican delight! I decided to stop here and grab myself and the wife something quick so that we can have lunch and our walk in our local park. To our surprise the food was outstandingly fresh and made to order. Food trucks are truly a wave and have been that way for decades. I'm grateful that more business owners are taking the leap of faith and stepping out of their comfort zone. Everything we ordered was great! We took it home to eat and it was still hot. The meats, cheeses, produce, sauces, & sour cream were all very fresh. Before going my son said, he had been before but wasn't paying $2 for a taco because he felt the pictures on here made them look small and would rather pay for taco's at Taco's & Beer. Anyway, we got several tacos and he was surprised by how big they were & said he was totally wrong. They were awesome! The whole family was very impressed. I can't wait to go back. Listed everything we got(multiples of most of it), it was all delicious! We had more than enough food for 4 people & spent right at &50. Wonderful food! Nice little food truck serving quesadillas, tacos, burritos, lunch plates, empanadas, soup. We had an al pastor quesadilla, chicken quesadilla, chorizo empanada and beef soup. All of it was hot and delicious. Perfectly seasoned, the lettuce was fresh not wilty like a lot of places. The corn tortillas taste homemade. The sauce/salsa (I got mild, but still had a nice kick) is some of the best I've had in the area, and really enhanced all the food we got! read more

I stopped here after camping, the reviews all seemed great. The truck itself they serve from is clean and very cute turquoise color. The staff were all very friendly and answered all my questions. There are tables with chairs and umbrellas in the parking list so waiting for and enjoying our food here was perfect. The homemade corn tortillas are not to be missed! Best tacos in Slidell! So convenient, with a variety and excellent hours! Tacos pastor and steak quesadilla are so delicious. Tamales suck. They're wrapped in a banana leaf but not like Honduran style either. They have many different drinks to choose from also. The staff is very friendly, speak both Spanish and English fluently. I have found authentic tacos in Slidell. We had the steak, chorizo, and chicken tacos and they were superb. Great salsa. Perfect portions of bean and rice. I ordered a steak quesadilla for my meal although it was good the meat was tougher than I'd like but was cheesy and with a soft tortilla. They provide grilled onions and a pepper on the side that were good additions to the quesadilla. For a drink i ordered the hibiscus agua fresca. It was flavorful but not overbearing with sugar. The carne asada was bland and the chicken wings were Smokey, but lacked salt so difficult to taste. The rice and beans were the best thing on the table. The chimmichurri was the most disappointing by far, tasting almost like it had mayo in it. The other thing that was odd to me is that apart from their house made hot sauce (which is more like a veg blend) they did not offer any house made salsa verdes/picantes or topping for the tacos. For $12-$15, a plate with two tacos is steep, considering there are no sides of accompaniments. I will however say that the food was incredibly fresh and of good quality. The tortillas were excellent, however fell apart due to the moisture and weight of the toppings. Maybe doubling them would improve the product. Service was also excellent. Good came out quickly and the cashier and cooks were amazing at answering our questions and offering suggestions. The place was nearly full, so that says something about their following. I really miss the previous Venezuelan restaurant that was here before. Their food was top notch!
