Our family made a move to Yakima and our daughter was going into her senior year of high school. I knew how difficult it would be on her and did many high school tours and talked to local educators. After much thought we chose La Salle HS. The high school threw a back to school night for the students that included music and games. My daughter attended with much anxiety and trepidation. She ended up having a great time and said she wanted to go out for soccer after girls on team talked her into it. Best decision ever. Kids were welcoming and kind and so were the teachers. She had a very fun senior year and we will always remember the students, teachers, administrators and families that welcomed us all in! read more

Poor quality academics in the last couple of years, especially for students who want to really be challenged and excel beyond high school. Lack of activities or educational options. There are just too many better high schools in Yakima that can meet the needs of a variety of students. read more

I genuinely enjoyed my time at la Salle. The science department is amazing and the history department was great my freshman and sophomore year. I had so many amazing teachers. That being said I also had a teacher who treated me extremely poorly after my dad died. They also announce personal deaths like this over the loud speaker which can be so humiliating. Since it's a small school it doesn't have as many resources, therefore less APs, clubs, and electives. | I had so many great teachers- Hart, Dr. T, Le Henn, Forsyth, Baudinet, Cooley, Carroll, Brewer. But I had one teacher, Emily Heaverlo, who on forced me to retake a quiz I wasn't ready for my first day back in class after my dad LITERALLY DIED. She told me she had just lost her dad and understood. But here's the difference: she's middle aged and her dad lived a long life, I was 15 and my dad didn't even make it to 50. She had no right to say that to me. read more
