    Migas taco burnt eggs
    Jennifer G.

I have to say this review is for the secondary location by the west side shopping center. I generally go there as the location is on my way to work. I am not sure if there was a change in staff but my order was terrible. I got the migas taco and quesadilla barbacha. The tortillas was nothing like I have gotten before and the eggs burnt and not the fluffiness I am use to. The first location holds to standard but the second has not. I got the food to go for lunch and didn't even eat any of it sadly. I will try again but definatly need to check my order before I go.

    Strawberry Horchata (WITH REAL BERRIES)

Pro-tip: Just do yourselves a favor and go. SO good. Don't miss out on the Strawberry Horchata, either. Watch out Austin, this may be the best (okay, my favorite) taco spot in town. I didn't really look into the menu or details ahead of time, and I'm almost glad I didn't. I learned that they are Michelin recognized, and they deserve it. You know the meat/food is good when you don't need added sauces -- and that's saying a lot because the sauce is also really good. To drink: Strawberry Horchata or Amy of their freshly house made agua frescas (real ingredients, y'all). I'd you're not into that, you have Fleet Coffee right next door (their Horchata is tasty as well). To eat: Quesabarbacha (quesadilla filled with barbacoa, cheese, onions, cilantro) and the classic barbacoa tacos. Extra fun detail -- they serve their tacos on your choice of pressed to order corn tortillas (original, spinach, and beet). How neat is that?! With another location new to the W6th Clark's area, I know I'll be a frequent visitor.

    Chilaquiles

I really want to like the chilaquiles here but each time they've been really soggy. Good flavorish as I still need to drown them in their salsas which are actually really good but the chips are just too soggy. If they were crispy this place would be a 4.3 out 5 but each time the chilaquiles are a big bowl of mush unfortunately. Also got their quesabarbacha which is just a big quesadilla with birra in it. With the salsa on it it's actually really solid. Ended up paying almost $40 with tip for the food so pretty steep especially for mid chilaquiles. If you're looking for some good ones maybe go to chilakillers or arandinas but definitely skip them here. I will say their little set up is really nice and love the greenery and ambiance of the place. Plus there's a little coffee shop here too which is nice. Overall if you skip the chilaquiles and get something else you'll probably love it here.

These tacos are among the best in Austin. The chefs invest a lot of time and effort into creating delicious, authentic barbacoa, which is then elevated with a unique Austin twist. While they may not be the traditional street tacos from Mexico, they are packed with flavors that will make your taste buds dance with joy. The homemade corn tortillas are made to order, and the barbacoa is both moist and delicious. I highly recommend trying the breakfast tacos. The atmosphere is beautiful and peaceful--definitely worth a visit! If you're looking for recommendations, I suggest trying the Tacos, Tortillas, Barbacoa Chilaquiles Bowl, Breakfast Tacos, Salsa, Sopes, Migas Barbacoa Breakfast Taco, and Chilaquiles Con Barbacoa.

I ordered the potato and the migas. The food was so full of flavour and was so so tasty.

Breakfast barbacoa taco and potatoes barbacoa taco

This is one of those taco spots where they take Mexican food, make it hipster, and put a big price tag on it. I didn't realize this beforehand, however, and just saw on my maps app that there was a taco truck that I hadn't been to on Manor. I've been to El Chilito, which is very close by, and has fabulous tacos for great prices. I had the potatoes barbacoa taco and breakfast barbacoa taco. They tasted great, but I was done with them in a few bites. They were so small, and it was $11 for the two of them. They don't post the prices on their menu, which I realized was a big red flag. The tacos are of high quality, but their small size and high price for a taco truck made this experience disappointing.

Aguas frescas and migas tacos (no meat)

My band mates and I visit Austin more or less every year for the Honk!TX festival, and we always hit this food truck at least once for breakfast tacos. Everything is fresh and delicious! The cantaloupe agua fresca is simply amazing. I've never tried the barbacoa - they're always happy to make a vegetarian version of their delicious food. ¡Muy sabroso!

Finally got to try the acclaimed La Santa and it did not let down! Fresh Barbacoa and ingredients, hand pressed corn tortillas fantastic portions and quality can't ask for much more. Can't wait to try more!

I tried La Santa Barbacha at ACL and it was some of the best festival food I've ever had!! As I was walking around, people were asking where I got my tacos. The meat was tender and had so much flavor, loved the salsa verde too.

    migas taco and Benito
    Christopher P.

TLDR: Trendy barbacoa-focused taco spot with a nice patio, but high prices and hype outpace the flavor; good overall, just not essential. La Santa Barbacha is a much-hyped East Austin spot operating out of the patio of The Long Goodbye, serving tacos, frescas, and a few specials with a heavy focus on barbacoa. They've been recognized as Bib Gourmand by the Michelin Guide and show up often on "best tacos in Austin" lists. Parking can be a little tricky because of the small gravel lot, but during the day, I didn't have any real issues. The outdoor seating area is charming: a covered, gravelly patio with white picnic tables and lots of greenery. On my visit, I tried three items: the migas taco, the Benito, and the quesabarbacha. The migas taco was a satisfying breakfast bite: definitely not bland, with a salty pop in every bite. The Benito leaned slightly sweet but still worked, thanks to the contrast between creamy refried beans, crunchy chicharrones, and rich barbacoa. The quesabarbacha was solid comfort food: melty, toasty cheese wrapped around tender, flavorful barbacoa. The tortillas were great across the board: warm, soft, and pleasantly flavorful, not the generic, stale-feeling kind some taco spots use. My main complaint is value. At around $6 per taco, the bill climbs quickly, and while everything was good, it didn't quite reach the level I expected at that price point. Overall, it's a fringe recommendation: tasty and very cute, but more about aesthetics than flavor.

    Barbacoa

DIOS MIO if you haven't had your taco today, RUN do not walk to La Santa Barbacha. Their Barbacoa (an inconceivably melt-in-your-mouth braised beef) in a simple beautiful handmade tortilla layered with fresh cotija, cilantro, and avocado IS EXCEPTIONAL. Elegant, simple, a perfect meal at the sweet tree-covered patio by the newly installed Westside Market (or to-go, but come, stay awhile). We're so lucky you're here.

Delicious and beautiful homemade tortillas and really fresh, tangy salsas. lovely people.

So continues the venture of the Michelin Bib gourmands. I was in the mood for tacos and which brought me over to La Santa Barbacha. Man what a gem, and such a delightful staff too. I was so happy with my choices and even got to meet the owner a bit too, which made the experience well deserving of the Bib Gourmand. Atmosphere: Food truck style next to a local convenience store and other food trucks as well. The venue itself is actually quite nice on a nice weather day due to the covering of shade and plenty of seating. Food: First off some of these may be like...all this for one taco, but you get pretty large portions so the price is easily justified. Besides price though the food itself is delectable. I ended up getting the Barbacoa taco, Cripsy Cheese Taco, and Quesabarbacha. Pretty much if something catches your eyes you won't be disappointed, with my personal favorites being both the Crispy Cheese and Quesabarbacha for any cheese lovers delight. Service: Counter style service where you simply order and they call your name when it is ready. I did get to meet one of the owners and it was just such a delight to hear her passion and creativeness for food come to life and now getting to see people enjoy her ideas. This may make one of my new top favorites for a taco joint should the cravings come. Easy Repeat.
