Our group of 24 (plus our tour manager and coach bus driver) sat on the upper floor for dinner. We were served family style of fresh baked bread, crispy pork belly, croquettes, pimentos de padron, a tomato salad (thinly sliced) drizzled with balsamic vinegar, grated cheese and olive oil, and lamb shank with potatoes. We were served with copious amounts of red and white wine. Dessert too, but I didn't take a photo and don't recall what it was. Overall, a great dinner with friends. I cannot comment on the price because it was part of our tour package. read more

The wines we had were all less than exciting but the service, food and ambiance more than made up for it. There wasn't an English menu so we pointed and hoped for the best. The first dish that came out was a butternut squash soup with a poached egg and truffle oil. Solid and tasty. The waitress didn't speak any English but she went the extra mile. I pulled up Google translate and she explained the wines we tasted via the app. Huge kudos. The next up was a large entree style Cuttle fish and risotto. The risotto was very nice, but the Cuttle fish was a bit to fishy and overpowered the dish; as usual Marie ate based on what I preferred and I was able to polish off the risotto (and she ate the cuttlefish) without offending the staff. An unexpected bonus was how well it paired with my wine. If I lived here I wouldn't come back for the food, but the drinks could certainly draw me in. Last but not least they handled an impromptu tasting seamlessly (nod to Google Translate without whom none of this would be possible), so don't be afraid to ask. read more

Coming from San Sebastián one day, we found the lunchtime Pintxos at La Tavina to be more varied, and delicious. We had Duck (confit de pato), octopus (salpicon de pulpo) and a torta with chorizo and spicy cream sauce to go with local beers (Mahou). Solid choice with a great open air view of Calle Lauren. read more

First, I want to start of by saying the architecture and design of this space is five stars. Downstairs where they have pinxos and wines by the glass, the pinxos are very mediocre and over priced, the wines are wines that you find on most of Laurel, they do have a foreign selection of glass pours, and high end, every time I have gone for one, anything foreign has been way over priced and clearly been opened for more days than should be allowed to serve wine. Moving on to the second floor, where they sell wine by the bottle, and sometimes have wine tastings, the amount of wine by the bottle they have is great, sadly they have a lot of wines that you could buy cheaper at al campo, they have a sommelier that I often see smoking, which I know is a personal bias, but if you employee someone just to taste wine, why hire someone who reeks of smoke? I have to say I have found a really great bottle or two here. They have tastings on Monday nights, I that were 20 euros, 5 wines and five small plates. This is hard to give a rating, I went to a Cava tasting that was incredible, the food was on point, that cava delectable then, I have also been to a few other tastings where the wine was good, but the food paired terribly. Anyway, I give the tastings 4 stars because I really like the forward thinking, and progression in Logroño. I have never ate in the restaurant. So I can not give it a fair review. However, I would be cautious to spend a hefty amount of money dinning somewhere where the pintos are hit or miss, especially when there are so many economical 5 star locations walking distance. read more
