On a sunny day, I bring my DELE books, order a glass of Albariño, and people-watch from the sidewalk. I'm also a firm believer in the Spanish bar value proposition. When I order a glass of wine, I love to receive some olives or a montadito to snack on. At Planeta, I am presented with a bowl of olives, a full plate of montaditos, and half a tortilla espanola. (Granted, the tortilla is not the best [1], but it's the thought that counts!) For 2.30 euro, I am satiated, relaxed, and leave the bar much better prepared for my exam. There's one waiter in particular who speaks a little bit of English. He speaks to me in English, I speak to him in Spanish. The restaurant attached to it served one of the best pilgrim menus I had On the entire Camino! Huge portions of gourmet food! One of the best tomato salads ensalata caprese style ! The cafe was charming and served a wonderful breakfast! Only downside was this was the most massive bunk room of communal living I ever saw!! Huge maybe 30-50 bunks! It was big. I might have contacted bed bugs here but hey that's the Camino.

They offer a wide menu with tons of healthy options, I tried a salad that although I don't remember its name was delicious. My aunt had a gazpacho that was equally tasty and we shared some appetizers that were just as great. When I walked to the bathroom I noticed the albergue side of the joint. I have to say that I would've liked to stay there and probably will in the future. The bathroom was ample and incredibly clean, and although I didn't see the rooms I can only imagine that the bathroom reflects upon the cleanliness and comfort of the rooms. It's also near the entrance of Arzua which is convenient for tired pilgrims.

This place is so popular that there is always a line to enter. They have outside seating and indoor seating. It is just what you want. The churros were very crispy and tasty. The chocolate was hot and amazing. No you can't dip the churros in chocolate. It is not allowed! Just kidding! That is the BEST PART! Yes I know... it's probably rare to you so try it anyway. (That's if you're a foreigner who's visiting. Ignore this if you're a Spaniard who speaks English) Anyway I've tried them in other parts of Spain and I really liked this one. The thickness of the chocolate was pleasant and it wasn't too sweet. Seemed like a semi sweet or dark chocolate to me.
