Tucked away around the corner up from a little side street off a busy main road in Nottingham is the magical and adorable Lace Market theatre. Run entirely by devoted volunteers, the theatre is committed to performing challenging and interesting plays, recently putting on the first ever showing in Nottingham of the Restoration Comedy The Rover. The theatre has a genuine and warm atmosphere of enthusiasm, with every single job, from lead actor to prompt, to costume makers, ice-cream sellers and set builders done entirely for the love of it. There's also a great little bar upstairs and the theatre is open on Saturday lunchtimes for amazingly cheap delicious home-made pub grub. read more
