The swimming pool is large and you can definitely swim laps, water is very clean. The fitness room is small but has several cardio machines. The downside is that the hotel is far from the beach and a 20min walk to the main area. And the bed was extremely stiff and uncomfortable. The sheets are also super thin and tough on your skin as well. For the price, it's a decent experience.

From our two balconies we enjoyed views of the Parque García Sanabria, the city and the sea. The suite is spacious, bright and airy, with modern and uncluttered decoration. Bed and furniture are very comfortable. The bathroom had a walk in shower, separate bath, double basin and separately enclosed toilet. We had a spacious walk in closet with a safe. The welcome macaroons, coffee machine and unlimited water were a nice touch. During our stay we visited again the spa; enjoying the spa circuit (thalassotherapy, heated outdoor spa pool, jacuzzi, plunge pools, sauna and steam rooms) and a 70 minute essential massage (I believe we paid £110 per person or so). While at the spa, I decided to get a facial treatment, this was also very good. The facilities are very well maintained and look elegant and uncluttered. The hotel itself and grounds are classic and elegant but have been renovated with a modern twist (I think the hotel was bought by Iberostar and renovated around 2014). You can still see the lovely marble all throughout the reception and the stairs, the lovely chandeliers and parquet flooring. The outdoor garden is lush and green, it's a very nicely tucked away gem in the heart of the city. The location is superb, you are across the street from the park, a few streets from the beach, museums, the Nuestra Señora del África market, etc... Regarding the food: we had breakfast at the hotel. There's a decent selection of pastries, bread, cereals. A small selection of a la carte options, some cheese, cold cuts, caviar, limited fruit. I would have liked some better quality fruits and more vegetarian friendly options but I understand the fruit and veg is limited and of poorer quality due to the geolocation of Tenerife (however I saw very good quality ones at the market a few streets away from the hotel!). During our stay we visited the bar for after dinner drinks, the Mango mule was absolutely delicious and had a tasty edible lemon straw. Staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful throughout the whole stay. I would most definitely come back. If you want to see the real Tenerife, you must stay in Santa Cruz, La Laguna or La Orotava.

We used the map he gave us and his recommendations throughout our entire stay. We enjoyed the accommodations and amenities. The Restaurants and bars offer great food and drink with great service. The towel animals were so adorable, the children visiting seemed to really enjoy them. The only complaint would be that our bathtub backed up and caused the toilet to flood, the only remedy we were offered until the next morning was extra towels. That was on the first night of our stay, first thing the next morning we were in a new room.

Staff are friendly and professional. The rooms are comfortable and spacious. There is a rooftop swimming pool and jacuzzi, a gym and a small spa treatment room. There is also a beautiful bar, superb restaurant and a wine bar. We are having our wedding at this hotel (Javi, our dedicated wedding planner has been brilliant), so very much looking forward!. I can't possibly explain all they have to offer, but I would encourage anyone to visit their website for a more thorough list. If you are looking for a special place to take that special someone, this is it! Here are some of the highlights from our stay: Getting here is super easy to do, from private car, taxi, or bus. We arrived on the island and took the 343 bus from the airport (TFN). The bus was super clean and reasonably priced (less than 10€ for two!). When we arrived, check-in was easy. They gave us fresh juice and were given a quick tour of the main dining areas and spa. Then, they showed us to our room and gave us a rundown of how things operated (light switches, mini-bar, TV, safe). Our room was fully stocked with everything imaginable. They even had slippers and oversized robes for guests to use for the spa. The grounds are a work of art (see pictures). Peaceful walkways, pools, fountains, flowers, wild birds and butterflies abound. This seems like an oasis within the busy tourist area of the Puerto de la Cruz. There is a poolside restaurant with waiters to tend to your every need. For restaurants, they have three main offerings: The Oriental is their top dining selection, offering exquisite Thai cuisine (closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays). Other dinner options include La Parrilla as their Spanish restaurant and Il Pappagallo for traditional Italian fare. For breakfast and lunch, their main floor restaurant and poolside area offer an incredible buffet and special order items. My wife and I were only disappointed that we weren't staying more days! The spa is what truly makes this hotel a premier destination. There are special pools, exercise rooms, yoga and Thai chi rooms, saunas (many types - Turkish, Japanese), jacuzzi tubs, an ice room, water beds, and other items to help one relax and rejuvenate. My wife and I did the 'Experience for two' in their Private Dragon spa bath. This was a special treat for two and a half hours, and felt great after climbing up/down Gibraltar and wandering Sevilla with bags of stuff. There are sports courts here as well, but since I'm not a sports guy, I'll leave that to others to review. The staff here are great, and they will help you book reservations at local restaurants in advance if you want to venture out. They also have a courtesy bus that takes guests up/down the hillside regularly throughout the day, so you don't have to hike up and down from the hotel. If the bus doesn't work, they always have taxis standing by to wisk you away to wherever you want to go. I would highly recommend Hotel Botanico for anyone who wants to get away from the routine and spoil themselves for awhile.

The hotel is in a beautiful area with lots of stores, restaurants and the beach all within walking distance. The hotel rooms were clean and the staff was friendly; we had a beautiful view of the beach from our room. The food was really good and we were glad we did the half board that included breakfast and dinner. It was an all you can eat buffet with a variety of quality foods catering to all diets and food sensitivities. We enjoyed the heated pool and made use of the gym to work off all the food we ate at the buffet. We will definitely be returning!
