BuildZoom recommends hiring a contractor with a score higher than 95. Lagasse Pools had a score of 89. On Google they had a score of 3.9 out of 5. LaGasse Pools is not a member of the Better Business Bureau. Check their unresolved complaint (s). I urge you to do your homework before hiring this business. My pool looks pretty good, however, it is not finished per my expectations. The owner told me, via an email, that they were going to make the necessary repairs. My neighbors decided to put a pool in a year and half ago and it's been never ending battle keeping the workers from driving and destroying my front lawn . I I decided to make a trip down to the office and discuss it with the owner who was very apologetic and told me that a temporary fence should've been put up. When I left the office that day I felt good that something was going to be done to fix the problem . It is just gotten worse, the owner doesn't seem to care about anybody but himself. Had a 4 pm appointment and when tech (Kevin) hadn't shown up by 4:10, called to confirm appointment was still on; office said tech had left 1/2 hour ago (we're about 1/2 hour away). Tech called 5 minutes later & said he was still 30-35 minutes away & asked if we wanted him to still come out or reschedule. We said no, we'd be waiting. He finally arrived an hour after our scheduled appointment. Husband explained we were not the owner but had her approval to look at the area & get estimate; tech refused to walk to side of house to do estimate, and was extremely rude. When appointment was setup the situation was explained. So we waited over an hour, we arrived early, and received zero service! We will definitely take our business elsewhere! read more

CAVEAT EMPTOR!!!!!!! NEVER LET THESE PEOPLE GET AHEAD OF YOU ON MONEY, YOU'LL NEVER SEE IT AGAIN. It all started over a year ago, yes a year ago when they BS'd my wife that for $1500 they could acid wash the old marcite finish and it would work, which in my experience never works on a pool so badly stained. it didn't work on my last pool and it wasn't nearly as old & stained. Threw away $1500, if they even did the work. So after it failed miserably (if even done), my wife asked for a proposal in APRIL 2019 to fully redo the pool, which as a matter of course required a deposit, which was immediately remitted.Then began the chase on our part, virtually no work was done from the initial payment in April 2019 until AFTER January 2020, A FULL 9 months plus before any work was completed after collecting a substantial advance and no significant work completed. A full 9 months of BS, lies & excuses. Mr. Lagasse finally met with my wife in January 2020 and promised & guaranteed her the ENTIRE job would be finished in 2 weeks!!! I guess Mr. Lagasse is a fan on of the movie "The Money Pit", where the contractor kept saying 2 weeks, 2 weeks until completion. Great movie, horrible experience when it's you. It is June 9, 2020 and the job is not complete. Sometime around February 2020, a full 10 months after proposal, they did some minor tile work, and eventually did install the PebbleTec (pool parts still missing) but still had the audacity to demand another payment (like idiots) we sent yet another payment to the address they supplied. Of course, like everything else they provided the incorrect address to remit payment. I guess they were so desperate for the money, one of the guys drove to my wife's gym and interrupted her workout to get the next large draw for a huge grand total!!!!! Still with almost half of the job remaining. They are habitual liars and will tell you anything they think you want to hear to get by. We had paid for "Fire Bowls" back in Aug 2019, they weren't ordered until April 2020. We kept getting BS stories, so I finally called their supplier to see if they were paid and shipped, thankfully they were and we were given a delivery date by their supplier of May 29th, of course we were told they would be delivered to our home ASAP, we already knew they were sitting behind their building. I asked my GC to go and see if he could get the "fire bowls" to lessen our temporary loss to Lagasse. We are currently on the hook (Lagasse owes us about $12K) for an outdoor kitchen they never provided. We have sought an alternative source and fired Lagasse for abandonment of the job. The old expression, "how do you know they're lying, their lips are moving'! Its sad when a local company screws a local client in the way they did us, my goal in writing this is the hope they don't do it to anyone else. It's a horrible feeling to be lied to and robbed. Whats worse, we're preparing to move in, and the outdoor kitchen is nowhere in sight, other than a framework that could only be utilized by someone 6ft 5in or taller. Run don't walk away from these crooks. My pool was empty for 17 months. They took my money and ran. Don't be tricked by their sales team! They have no idea what they are doing. When the Gunite arrived at my house no one was there to supervise. They covered up the drains and created steps that were all wrong. Without prepping for color - they started spraying the wrong color and had to stop them (again no one was there from their teaThen they wanted more money to finish the job. Very sad when a company takes advantage of their customers. Steve Lagasse has a long history in this town - go check him out and you run the other way. read more

DO NOT USE THEM!! Steve Lagassa will sell you everything and not stand by his word. He was nasty and very unprofessional when you ask about what he said he was going to do. They put the wrong color in my pool and will not even come look at finished pool to see it. By sides the actual pool not matching the sample I picked out I have proof from the men who put the surface in told me it's not the color I paid for. Steve Lagassa and Steve Zonakis don't even want to speak to us about it. They only send me emails requesting payment. The whole process dealing with them was terrible. They do not stand by their work and very nasty people!! read more

Made a down payment for them to add a spa to my pool, purchase new pool equipment, and replace the deck with new pavers. That was more than a year ago. They laid the pavers, though several of them have 'fallen in' where LaGasse dug a trench for new pipes. The spa is roughly 75% complete ... and has been in that state for several months. But, of course, a 75% complete spa is useless. I haven't been able to reach anyone at the company for more than a month. So, I'm not sure if they are still in business or if they are just refusing to communicate. Probably the latter. After months of them not returning my calls, I was finally able to reach them by using someone else's cell phone. Twice, I called with no answer. Both times, I then immediately had someone else call on their phone and LaGasse answered! Other than a few contracts in which the contractors were charged with crimes, this is the worst experience I've ever had with a contractor. read more

LaGasse Pools & Service - Untouched for the past 6 months - Pool & Hot Tub Service Near Me - Sarasota, Florida

We officially initiated our pool remodel with Lagasse in 10/2016, "finished" in 10/2018. Now, 07/2021 several large holes in our grout remain under our new waterfall ultimately causing fault within the wooden wall structure behind the tiles. My requests for repairs were addressed, re-addressed, passed forward, delay of repairs requested 3-4x, promising staff relinquished, and although Steve Lagasse was cc'd on every email with simply stated request(s) the holes remain. A final text to Steve in desperation, he said that he would handle it personally. Another 1.5 months pass & my husband called to find out when, he acted like we were putting him out, and this matter remains unresolved. ALSO, last week, our brand new pump housing sprouted a pinhole leak. Manufacturer states to notify the builder - brought to Lagasse's attention. In waiting for response, yet another part has failed & now the whole system is completely inoperable & shut down. Steve Lagasse can't keep his facts straight & seems completely overwhelmed. He just mailed us another letter (same one 3x) claiming "out of warranty". Hayward seemed put out but not at all surprised by Lagasse's neglect which is an ongoing issue, apparently. Fortunately, I did make that call & found 1.5 yrs of coverage remain & they will come within 2 bus days. I AM NOT OUT OF WARRANTY - Now imagine if I had to follow up with Hayward & their promise for 2 yrs straight receiving no follow-up & chasing false promises until Hayward states that it's no longer under warranty... This is exactly what it's been like dealing with Steve Lagasse for the past 5 yrs. It's ludicrous! Lagasse Pools LLC  should have their license revoked for unethical practices. ps... there is so much more, I could honestly write a book. Behavior like this is reminiscent of dealing with an addict who lies constantly to get $$$$ for more supply, cheats everyone they know along the way & then backs out of any promises they made only to blame everyone but themselves... Previous unnamed company left a major disaster in our backyard. They drained our fiberglass pool without taking proper measures and the pool caved in on itself.. Called LaGasse Pools to see if they would be able to fix. Steve came out that day to take a look. Written estimate was made by that evening! From start to finish it only took three weeks! Everything Steve said they would do they did. Workers were there every day at 8 AM. They were all polite and very hard workers. Customer for life. Would highly recommend this company for your next pool project. It was obvious they can tackle any job. read more

I would give 0 stars if it was an option. DO NOT USE THEM before you hire Lagasse make sure you hire a lawyer. We hired them to put pavers/firepit and a paved driveway and they destroyed our entire yard. The project was supposed to take 2 weeks per the Sales Rep - contract signed 10/10/2020 and they did not completely finish until after Christmas. The fire pit they gave us melted when we had our first fire. They told us if we wanted an upgraded insert we had to pay extra. They completely damaged the grass in the front yard and wanted to repair it by a product called Hydro Mousse (an infomercial that they sell at walmart) which had horrible reviews. That was the only option they were giving us. Then they demanded final payment and only wanted to give us a 500.00 credit towards the yard. After threatening emails, phone calls, etc. they want to file a lien on the property over 990.00 which to me they owe us to fix our yard. On top of destroying our property the employees they sent to the house were telling us that they didn't know if they had jobs because the Owner was going through a divorce. So we were not sure if they would ever finish. You would call them or text them with no response or when they did respond they would lie about when things would be finished. A 2 week project took over 3 months and my yard is all dirt and no grass. We had beautiful yard before they came. DON"T USE THEM!!! read more
