Loaded Fries (cheese on the side)

The food here was pretty good considering it's in a hotel by the beach which I feel tends to be more of tourist trap restaurants. They did a DoorDash happy hr from like 3-5pm so we picked up some bites and they were pretty good and quick. The staff, even for a quick pick up, could not be more rude. The front desk person was missing for at least 5 mins from when we got there and then took the longest time to walk over to us and made us repeat ourselves - it was just giving off a carefree, bad attitude. The worst is our food was on the counter so we could've just grabbed it but I didn't want them to think we were taking without checking out or something.

Visited solo and had lunch at Lager heads. Lunch was great, portion was a little large for me. But it was great. While I ate the bar, service was great and the bar wasn't overly busy. The weather was great so the windows were open. The tvs and music wasn't too loud. I would definitely return!

Prime rib special. Just a brown slab of meat. No seasoning, no tenderness, not juicy in any way.

We were staying at the Hilton and were surprised that it was only a 20 minute wait for a party of 5 on the Saturday night of Labor Day weekend. After our experience...not so much of a surprise. It took 10 minutes to get any service. I gotta give it to our waitress, she was very nice and took our entire order plus beer flight and appetizer by memory and got it right. She's the only reason I am giving 2 stars instead of 1. Kids Mac and cheese was so bland and watery I couldn't blame my son for refusing to eat it. I had the prime rib special and was told it comes medium, which is fine. When it arrived, it looked like a brown slab. It had no seasoning and came with a mayonnaise type horseradish sauce (the only reason I could eat it) and some type of brown sauce that was maybe a mix of au just and bbq. DO NOT ORDER THIS! My hubby got the cajun pasta which would have been really good except that it was wayyyyy tooooo salty. I will be venturing outside of the hotel for the remainder of my trip.

Great little spot right off the beach with a great overall beer selection. You can do flights to get a nice sampling of the brews, and very reasonably priced to be on the beach as well. Good service form the bar and god conversation about the beers on tap with the knowledgeable bartender I spoke with. Overall a nice laid back beach bar that I will definitely visit again when back in that area. Side note: I didn't eat but the food looked great as well.

Had a spare few hours to fill in so came to the beach and googled a good oceanfront place for a meal. Seated quickly, server was bar server so his attention was focused with those at the bar and not so much us at a table. Place was nicely set out, oceanfront position, however all windows were filthy with greasy handprints, kinda spoils the view and second guesses the cleanliness of the place. I got the turkey sandwich which was ok, Johan got the black n blue burger which sounded nice but was tasteless. Fries were nice and crispy and seasoned well.

Staying in town for a tournament and due to weather wanted something within walking distance to our hotel. Found Lager Heads via yelp and a group of six of us all went for lunch. Place was really nice inside, loved the open kitchen look and expo area being clean and modern. Nice size bar and right amount of seating. Our service was great, attentive server, quick food delivery and drinks constantly refilled. She was very friendly as well. We all got something different and everyone liked what they got. Some of us saw huge Cobb salads coming out and wish we'd have gotten one lol. My hangover burger was cooked to perfection, super juicy and well seasoned. Their ranch was great for fry dipping. I would definitely come back here when in town!

We stopped by Lager Heads located at 3315 Atlantic Avenue to grab a bite to eat. It's hard to beat the view of the Atlantic Ocean here. It was very calm today and it looked like you could see for miles. They weren't busy so we were able to score a couple of seats at Horseshoe shaped bar, overlooking the boardwalk. The bartender was friendly and attentive. We decided to try the chicken wings with their hot sauce. When they arrived, it took my breath away, they were piping hot and the aroma was wafting out everywhere. Once they were cool enough to touch I grabbed the drumstick and took a bite. I was very pleasantly surprised by the crunch and the amazing flavor in these delicious wings. They were cooked perfectly with the inside hot and the outside crunchy and then tossed with the beautiful sauce. These were some of the best wings I have ever had, bar none, and I'm someone who knows good wings! I'm already planning my next visit here because I will be thinking about these amazing wings for quite a while.

Very impressed! Their Cobb salad is huge and looks SO good. I saw a lady at the table in front of us order this salad and it was gigantic and loaded to the brim with ingredients. They also had some nice mocktails on the menu (appreciated by this non-drinker) and will be coming back for the salad and peach tea fizz! Yum! We stopped in on a bike ride and had a light lunch with live music over the weekend with my stepson before he moves away for grad school. Tear. We chose this spot because they almost always have live music at the center stage on the sidewalk between this and the bar across the street. As expected, on a Sunday afternoon - they did! Service was slow but friendly. It took a long time to get our food after our order was taken and our server basically didn't show up for 15 minutes after our food was delivered (by someone else) to see if we needed anything. We got a Cowboy burger which is a huge burger with BBQ sauce and cheese on Texas toast. I didn't try it but stepson said it's a win. We also got a basket of fries on the side which was huge for only $3.50 and a small cup of soup which rotates daily and was a delicious brisket stew. I got a small garden salad for $9.99 which I felt was a bit overpriced with only lettuce, onion, tomato, and crouton. They have a ton of burgers on the menu here and some inventive options. A bunch of handhelds which are sandwiches, salads, and entrees with fish. Also a ton of starters and apps. Overall, beautiful ambiance outside on the patio with live music and a view of the boardwalk and the sea and a much larger and diverse menu than I expected.

    Turkey sandwich and fries.

Nice atmosphere on the patio. The turkey sandwich and fries was good. The only not draw back is it is right under the US Navy flight path to the ocean. It was nice to see the jets and helicopters but loud.

Do not go here. We were served with nothing but dirty looks and denial to seat us because the "manager said so" not nice.

Our server was friendly, but slow. The restaurant was typical for a hotel bar and grill, meaning there was no warmth in the furnishings or decor. All in all, I won't be back, not because the food and drinks were bad, but because the price was much higher than the establishment called for.

The surrounding area is easy to walk and has a cute vibe. When we walked in, there was a short wait because the hostess was busy, but she apologized right away. It wasn't an issue for us since we weren't in a rush, and the acknowledgment was appreciated. For drinks, I ordered the mimosa sangria, which was just okay--not bad, but nothing memorable. For food, I went with Fatty's Hangover Burger ($16), topped with a fried sunny-side egg, apple-smoked bacon, lettuce, and tomato on a toasted challah roll. I added cheese for an extra $1. I don't usually order burgers, but this one was decent. It was a little peppery for my taste, but overall enjoyable. The sunny-side egg really made it, and the fries were a solid side. Overall, a convenient option if you're staying nearby or looking for a casual American styled food with a relaxed atmosphere.

One piece of advice: arrive a little before Happy Hour begins at 3:00 p.m. If you wait until then, you'll likely find yourself several people deep in line. Don't let that discourage you. Embrace it, because once you're seated you'll quickly discover that the wait was well worth it. The food is delicious, the portions are generous, and the prices--especially during Happy Hour--are outstanding. The Atlantic specializes in oysters, and their Happy Hour runs daily from 3:00-6:00 p.m., including weekends. We began with a Chopped Caesar Salad ($9). Every ingredient was crisp, fresh, and flavorful--a simple dish executed exactly as it should be. Next came the oysters: a dozen Rockefeller and a dozen Pacific. The Rockefeller oysters were everything you would expect from this classic preparation--rich, savory, and baked beautifully. The Pacific oysters, however, completely stole the show. Each oyster was topped with a delicious combination of chorizo sausage, pepper jack cheese, and seasonings before being baked to perfection. They were bold, flavorful, and easily my favorite item of the afternoon. I also ordered the Double Stack Cheeseburger ($7), and what a terrific value. The burger arrived piping hot, loaded with melted cheese, and accompanied by a generous serving of crispy fries. It's hard to imagine finding a better burger at that price anywhere along the Oceanfront. My wife ordered the pork, shrimp, and kimchi dumplings served with a chili crunch and ponzu sauce that tied the entire dish together beautifully. She jokingly threatened to drink the remaining sauce after finishing the dumplings (she didn't), but she did convince me to dip one of my fries into it. She was absolutely right--it was fantastic. In fact, I now regret turning down the dumpling she generously offered me. Part of the fun of dining here is watching Shuck-Master Slim work. He's not only remarkably skilled but entertaining as well, adding a little personality to an already enjoyable experience. From the fresh seafood to the outstanding value and friendly atmosphere, this was another memorable visit to the Virginia Beach Oceanfront. If you haven't been to The Atlantic on Pacific, I highly recommend adding it to your list. You'll be glad you did, and you can rest assured that you're helping support one of our outstanding local restaurants.
