It's a laid-back destination for local families and all those wishing to escape the bustle of Garda. It's a beautiful spot with pristine white-sand beaches, a small swimmable island and clear blue, albeit chilly, limestone infused waters.

We packed a picnic and met friends at the edge of the lake. The grounds have a lifeguard, water sport rentals, a small shack that serves pizzas, spritz's, coffee, etc.. There are decent public toilets but you need your own tissue. I didn't feel like I was at a tourist spot despite all the amenities. I really felt like we had found a hidden gem near Garda lake.

What a beautiful and charming place... even though for and some rain interrupted the stay, we thoroughly enjoyed being around and on Lake Iseo. It easily rivals Lake Como in beauty, but it is much less commercial and more laid back. We toured the lake by boat one day, spending several hours on the water, even stopped for lunch on Monte Iseo, the island in the middle of the lake. The scenery was spectacular, with the snow-capped alps in the background. What a wonderful day! Highly recommend you visit Lake Iseo, the boat tour is a must!

We were able to stay in a hotel with a lake view. You will notice the beautiful mountains that surround the lake. There are winding cobblestone streets and wonderful eateries. There is also a really cool old Castle (Rocca Scaligera) that you must see while visiting Lake Garda.

I first visited Lago di Garda about a year and a half ago when my brother and i were retracing our Grandfather's WWII footsteps in Italy. We visited during February, which is definitely "off-season" for tourists - - but this gorgeous lake and community still offers plenty of breath-taking views and activities even then. Speaking of activities, this lake is heaven for outdoors enthusiasts (and really anyone else, I suppose). But there is so much to do here: *You can rent a bike and casually ride around the towns, or for those more adventurous you could ride around the entire lake *You can rent mountain bikes and go on the many trails, even starting on top of Mt Baldo *In the winter you can ski or snowboard the backside of Mt Baldo *Nearly year-round you can go paragliding (I went in June and it was AMAZING!!!) *Kite surfers *Wind surfing *Sailing *Obv, boating!! Less active, there are so many great restaurants and small cafes to visit in the many towns that are dripping with history! For me, the historical significance is due to my Grandfather serving here in the 10th Mountain Division during WWII. He stayed in the town of Malcesine for a few weeks.... and I know he was able to get some fishing-time in here too. But there's a castle in Malcesine overlooking the lake that's from over 500yrs ago!! Whoa... now that's old! Go for the beauty of the lake....go for the activities...go for the breath-taking views...you can do everything or nothing here, and still have an amazing time!! :)

We visited Terme di Giunone while on vacation from California, and it was such a wonderful…read moresurprise! My 4 kids (17, 15, 12 and 10) wanted a break from the beach and after some quick research we ended up at Terme di Giunone. Tucked away in the countryside with beautiful greenery and the sound of cicadas all around, it felt so peaceful yet fun for the kids. Super affordable, plenty of space, free parking, free lounge chairs, and even a great snack bar. The water slides were a huge hit (no swim cap required there, which our kids loved. Caps ARE required for all other pools). A perfect break from Lake Garda. We're so glad we made the drive, highly recommend !

You'll be happy, to see thousand of thing on the mountain arround and on going back, thousand of waiting people on the car garage, cash and also on each step with the cable car to the top. But a beautifull view also if the weather is not so good, because the sun is shining on lake garda the most of the time. we have had feeled 40 degree on ground and on the top ist was refreshing You can walk around on small and long disctances, with kids you'll like the small disctances. There is also a way up /down by foot.
