Went for a tour of a local island with this company last summer, and had a great time!…read more The tour guide was able to give us loads of information on the history and heritage of the island, seal spotting was included and then we were brought to a spot where we could swim and jump off the rocks into the water and just have fun in the sun, a great family day out for all, adults and children alike. I will note that kayaking can be quite a tiring activity, especially if you are younger or abit smaller in build (such as myself) it can be tough to paddle against the current, however the instructor/tour guide keeps a close eye on everyone and provides encouragement along the way, and it is worth it once you get to land and can enjoy the beauty that Ireland has to offer. We were exceptionally lucky, the day we kayaked was sunny (a rare occasion indeed!), but seeing as you are already getting wet from being in the sea I can imagine it would matter too much if there was a small shower or too throughout the day! The tour took a good couple of hours, including the kayak in and out to the island and back to the mainland, so I recommend bringing supplies with you (including a picnic of sorts, suncream, sunglasses, water and sensible shoes are a must!). Also be wary, parts of the tour can be quite overgrown, as this island is uninhabited, so while shorts may be needed for nice weather, longer, lightweight trousers may be a good idea to pack! The tour guide was friendly and positive throughout, another bonus, and I would highly recommend to anyone looking to do something a little more active and outside of the box.

The first thing I'm gonna say is going to be an obvious point, but it is an important one... This is LINKS golf. This is PURE links golf. If you do not enjoy links golf, you will absolutely hate this course. If you love links golf, this course should be on your bucket list and you should figure out how soon you can come play it. The next statement is equally obvious, but also equally important... And that is the fact that this is a very VERY expensive round of golf. So, if it is not your brand of golf... This would be a very expensive mistake to make. It's pretty old-school. It's a little quirky. If you're not on your game the day you play, it can kick you in the teeth There are two holes that are absolutely iconic, but they're also a little weird... once again, if you don't like links and quirky, you're not gonna like those two holes On top of that, it's not a golf resort. It's right in the middle of town. This is great on a lot of levels... I actually took the bus to get to the course! But there are downsides to this as well... Some of the holes are right next to a pretty major road. Some of the holes are right on the beach - or at least very close to the beach... But it's a beach that's in use. Surfers and beachgoers might be there. One of the more surprising things is that there is no proper range at this course. You pay a lot of money and then you're not really able to warm up! That's a bit shocking... Especially for me. I had to rent clubs and then I wasn't able to spend time getting used to them. About the rental clubs, I tried to get an idea from them via emails about the quality before I chose to rent the clubs here... They weren't the best. They weren't terrible... They were newer... But they still were "game improvement irons" and the wedges felt like a rock on a stick. In the end, I'm glad I played there but if I had it to do over, I'd probably choose a different course. I only had two days to play during my trip and I think there were better options I could've chose. There were definitely cheaper options!

Stunning course. Came here in Fall and the course was still in pretty good shape. Layout is very…read morescenic as well as challenging. The clubhouse here is first class and perfect to catch a pint after walking 18 here. First thing you'll notice here is the wind. Being on the coastline, this place gets a TON of wind. Front 9 is especially the worst where you'll be looking at, at least, 30 mph winds. Some holes it even kicked well higher than that. Overall the course (hole wise) is fairly easy. The wind adds a very special and frustrating challenge to everything. On holes where you think the wind will alter your shot, it doesn't. And other holes where you feel little to no wind, your shot will land smack dab in the rough. And speaking of rough, if you ball happens to land, roll or skip in there; don't bother looking for it. The rough here is at least 2 feet deep and the long grass here hides pretty much every single ball that lands in there. Only time I was able to find my ball was by accidentally stepping on it. The course is grand as well as old school. No towering tree lines or anything like that. Just grass, bunkers and lots of wind. Price here was 100 euro so it isn't cheap but, if you're looking for a nice challenging course on a beautiful coastline, look no further.

Carpet was not adequately cleaned and the linen under the sheet was not cleaned. A smell of smoke filled the hallways and ventilation in the rooms was none. It is at least 2 miles from Ennis and I believe actually outside of the city. Having stayed at several places in Ireland on our visit, this place could have really been better kept or half the price.

The trail that you ride through is so beautiful. Rambling hills and sheep covered fields were so serene and peaceful. This ride was magical. We've already started planning a trip to come back. I haven't been bowling in years but decided to go to Limerick Bowling to meet a date and have some fun. I would say the bowling alley itself is big, decently maintained and just what you would expect from a bowling alley. My not-so-great review would have to be about the bar. I understand allowing people to 'smoke' but as soon as you open the doors to the bar, you walk into a cloud of smoke that you should know is just soaking your clothes with cigarette smell.... but that's not so much the biggest problem because that's "expected" at bars I suppose, but the service... was bad. For a lack of better words, if you're there when the male bartender I had is there, you'll get immediate attention if you have long hair, curves and a face that just catches this guy's attention. I guess I lose with the long hair but I was curious why he just kept going around and around with a max of 10 people there and just overlooking me and my date haha..... oh wait, when my date came right up next to me of course then after minutes of not seeing me, he still didn't see me and just looked at my date. Nice..... Oh well. Maybe I'll wear a v-neck next time I go if I do, and things will be different. Decent bowling.

They also have an activity centre where they have various classes and what not but I personally have never taken part in those. I just enjoy taking my son to swim here after a day at the beach. One thing to note, check the website and ring ahead before visiting because they only have public pool hours on certain days at certain times and the aquarium is only open on certain days at certain times.
