So, after coming here for about two months now I am baffled. As to why all the other coffee shops are busy, and this little gem isn't. Their coffee is consistently. Good has an amazing flavor profile. They're specialty drinks are not too sweet. Just perfect. The staff is amazing. Kind patient. The place is cute, and their cheesecakes are pretty good. Laika is one of my favorite cheesecake spots! Ever since I found it 4 years ago my boyfriend and I come here every once in a while for a sweet treat. This was our first time coming to this location, but it was on our way back from Austin right off of I-35. It's a decent sized place with a couple and tables and chairs available for seating and a beautiful display with all the cheesecakes they have. The 2 girls that were helping us were so sweet and kind. The slices of cake are $9 and the jars are $7 each, but you can do a 6 pack of jars for $39, which saves you $3. We decided to do that and get a couple different flavors to share with friends. My boyfriend and I tried the mango passionfruit, which they only have this week and a slice of the Milky Way buffet. The mango passionfruit was surprisingly delicious and the flavors paired really well together. It wasn't too sweet, which my boyfriend really liked. The flavors were super refreshing. Such a good summertime dessert. As a huge chocolate lover, the Milky Way buffet slice was so delicious. It had a cookie Oreo brownie crust, which tasted amazing and is all of my favorite things put together in a crust. It had silky chocolate cheesecake with a milk chocolate ganache to top it off with. It was decorated with a Nutella puff pastry, which was alright and I think would've been fine had it not been there. This flavor is definitely super rich and after a few bites I was extremely satisfied. Ok first when you walk into this place, it's sooo cute! I love the vibe and just the seating, colors and wall decor of this place is modern and bright. There were so many different cheesecakes to choose from and the worker at the counter was really helpful with describing them. I ended up getting the space jam one which was basically like a blueberry cheesecake. My sister got the toffee turtle one which had caramel, chocolate, Oreo and toffee. We also got the dragonfruit strawberry matcha and the tres leches latte. Both cheesecakes were sooo yummy! Nice and creamy with a delicious topping. My space jam one was perfectly sweet and I ate the whole thing real quick haha. My matcha latte was good and I can really taste the dragonfruit in there! It was a unique combination of flavors. We went in to support this company because they send proceeds to Ukraine. I didn't really know what to expect, just another coffee shop with some cheesecake, I guess. Man, I was wrong. As soon as you walk in, the shop is very bright with engaging decor (I should've taken pictures of the place) and it felt quite fun yet relaxing. I looked at their current cheesecake menu and they have the standards like ore crust or turtle, but they also have some tantalizing options. I got the space jam jar and my wife grabbed the passionfruit mango. She also got an iced matcha with a cucumber lime foam. I normally don't like matcha but this one was great! They were a little slow on the drink, but I don't think that's a normal thing. Their cheesecake wasnt cloyingly sweet or heavy. It was good. My matcha latte was good and the mango passion fruit jar was amazing. Service was also good and made up for what disappointed me in the drive thru. 0 menu. And they don't have somebody dedicated to drive thru. So every car literally, yes literally took 10-15 minutes. You can't process a drive thru that slow for a drink place. I don't get the delay. But yes when got to window. Person couldn't be nicer so he just disarmed me completely being annoyed so bravo to that. I might go back but I'll definitely park and go inside. My daughter is a student at UIW and recommended this place for which I thoroughly enjoyed. So, I was pleased to see another location in New Braunfels. I'm pleasantly surprised with their attention to detail with their coffee drinks. The cheesecake offerings are plentiful and they drink items dutifully match. I have tried most of the cheesecakes, and they are all distinct. But, I still favor the strawberry, blueberry and tiramisu ones the best. Finally, if you are driving through new Braunfels, look for their sign and make your way over to their location. There isn't a direct way to get there, but you'll be surprised when you do because the coffee is worth it. And, the cheesecake is the icing on the top. read more
