This place needs better and MORE bartenders. It was a busy Saturday night & my boyfriend and I were at the bar top waiting to be helped to order some drinks & two people from the side of me got helped before we did and we were waiting there before them. My boyfriend told me one of the bartenders legit looked at me and went on to the person next to us and asked what they can get for them!!!! Then after two other people were helped, another girl next to us asks one of the barbacks(maybe a bartender not sure) if she can order from her and she rudely said "Yeah just give me one moment okay." Then.. she comes back to assist her and waiting there for almost 15 minutes, I asked the same girl if she can help us bc we weve been waiting a while. And with the biggest attitude says "OKAY WHAT CAN I GET YOU?". IDC what type of scene you work for.. bar, restaurant etc ... You don't portray bad CUSTOMER SERVICE like that. Before walking in, I'd somehow managed to find an outdated menu online, and ended up ordering a house cocktail they don't make anymore, but without missing a beat, the bartender found an old menu and whipped it up for me! Well, well well... here I am 11 more years later and STILL going to Lake Alice. I think if you go there for the occasional dive bar experience, its fine. The food is usually pretty good prices are pretty much what prices are now. IN fairness, I've been eating off this menu for so long that I'm just kind of bored of it, but they do have some great salads and sandwiches and I have to admit I love the burger here. The service probably would be fine if they had enough servers for the amount of people who are there on Tuesday nights. Yeah, surprisingly there are a lot of people on Tuesday nights. But never enough servers for your food to come timely and accurately. But I do appreciate the servers they have. They try to take care of us the best they can. I go on Tuesdays because I play in a pinball league and have done so for going on 30 years now. CRAZY. They've also recently started a Pool league also on Tuesday nights. What is frustrating is that while not everyone in league is eating and drinking, a good number of us ARE, but you would think that with the coin drop and the food & drinks coming through there would be some accommodation/appreciation for us as customers, but there isn't. The league goes until at least 10, its already crowded with not enough seating and its very loud, but they insist on having a DJ start at 9 so that NO ONE can hear anything and we literally have to scream to talk to our league members. I leave with a sore throat every week. We tend to use tables that are outside of the pinball area so we can sit and eat and drink. Last night on our finals, they had the tables ALL RESERVED except for literally six chairs at tables in the pinball area. Guess what, their reservations never showed up, but most of us who normally eat didn't because we had nowhere to set our food, but the time 9 rolled around I was so hungry I just grabbed a snack and sat at a table anyway, but I would have had a meal and drinks. It just is bizarre to me that as management you would blow off your customers who come every week during the leagues and who have been loyal customers for over 30 years. It seems rude and it is disappointing. Anyway, the DJ does play fun music. Gotta admit that. I know they also have bands at times, but haven't seen any for a while. Overall, its what you expect when you want to hit up a dive bar with food. Its okay. I keep going, so I guess I should stop whining. read more

My boyfriend and I came into Lake Alice Monday night for karaoke and we had a great time! Our bartender Ariel was very attentive and made sure our drinks were always full. She recommended the giant Bavarian pretzel that comes with cheese and mustard dipping sauce which was delicious. Went out here on a Friday night with three friends. We were all really excited to try this place. Sad to say the service wasn't very good. Our waitress brought our food out to our table except for one. We waited ten minutes to perhaps remind her that one of our friends was missing their meal. Follow up review for Lake Alice. My last review over 12 years ago was the last time I set foot in the place. And let me tell you it was the same. The wife and I walked out after a couple of minutes. We walked in, sat at the bar, again no bartender even acknowledged us when we sat down. Waited and finally one came up and asked what we would like to drink. My wife said "I don't know" asked for a menu. She walked away, helped other people and grabbed two menus and rudely tossed em on the bar in front of us and walked away again. I honestly don't know how this place has repeat customers. It was exactly like this last time and weird that it hasn't changed. I turned 21 right before the pandemic hit, so going to a bar was out of the question... Now that I'm vaccinated and a bit more comfortable... This seemed like the perfect spot to check out. It was very chill with a live band that played 80's music covers. The crowd here is mainly older... in their 40's maybe? The bar tender was nice and very busy on a Friday night. Our waitress Victoria was amazing! So friendly, helped us pick out drinks, and always came to check on us. The other waitresses we had to flag down several times and did not seem very happy about it... Some of the drinks that we really enjoyed were the Tutti Frutti, Whiskey Sour, Apple Bomb, and Pina Colada! Very easy to drink. Can only give this place 1 star on account of just walking in and walking out. Came here with 3 others and as soon as we came in the "bouncer" stopped us and said, "HEY guess you guys walked right past the sign" "no outside food!!!!" "Not inside or outside on the patio, you can't bring anything in!" We had a small plastic bag from eating a street over and we asked if we can leave it anywhere.
