Drink lines were staffed well and moved fast. Only complaint is the number of bathrooms. Men's ok but Women's need 2-3x more. read more

I will probably not be attending any more concerts here unless a few issues are addressed. Paid for 3rd row tickets for the Whiskey Myers concert on Oct 31. Seats were GREAT, and so was the concert. Plenty of free parking. Entry to the event was easy and quick with TicketMaster app. Lines moved quickly and seats were easy to find with the help of the ushers. However, the Event Center needs to step a few things up. A. SECURITY!! As soon as Whiskey Myers took the stage, there was a rush of people to the stage front, completely blocking my view! Now, I understand that people like to get as close to the band as possible, but I paid for good seats so I could be close to the band; I could have bought $5.00 tickets and then just rushed the stage! They certainly had a better view than I did. People with seats around us were just as frustrated, and finally had to go get security to clear the aisle, but they were back in no time. Security tried to reason with the crashes instead of focusing on clearing the aisle. It was dangerous because when the people with seats around ours would try to make the gate-crashes clear out, some of them became belligerent and there were some heated exchanges. Luckily, it did not devolve into pushing/shoving, but it came close. I watched most of the concert on the screens above the stage because I could not see the stage at all. B. Acoustics could be much better. C. Drink menu was limited. NO WHITE WINE?? WTH?!? As I said, I will probably not attend any more concerts here unless these issues are addressed, which is a pity because I grew up attending many concerts and event at the Civic Center. read more

Went out to the Lake Charles, La center. Lots of wonderful sites . Took lots of photos. There a beautiful 911 Memorial. The Christmas lights are out and beautiful. Lots of People fishing, Beautiful weather for family outings. Casino right across the Lake. read more

Considering that this is the epicenter of culture in Lake Charles, it shoulders a huge responsibility. Judging on two important factors, I'd say this the Civic Center gets half of the way there. The Space: The grounds include the main waterfront facility, park, a marina, boardwalk, and open air amphitheater. The CC is equal parts sports complex, theater, event hall and cultural center so it offers up multiple floors of open space with stages, special lighting, kitchen space to cover a multitude of functions. Several festively named unique rooms including the: Contraband Room, Jean LaFitte Room, and Buccaneer Room all pay homage to the local culture and boast features that could definitely woo the average host. The sports complex seats up to 8,000 patrons (depending on event type) and is home to the Southwest Louisiana professional indoor football league (evidently two time champions) the "LA Swashbucklers." and formerly the Ice Pirates (What happened to them anyway?) Im sure there's something I'm missing here...but that's the point. At some point you just get that you're doing too much vibe. They do a lot of things on well, but nothing great. You won't see Andrea Bocelli or Yo Yo Ma at the theater; the only celebrity sightings you'll happen upon is the local royalty of the Mardi Gras crews, but speaking from experience there is a 9/10 chance you'll come here and have a fantastic time. Whether it's the Civic center itself, or the people, food, and the music....events here are the stuff life-long memories are made of. read more

Went to civic center to watch Cirque Du Soleil/ OVO. The civic center was one of the poorest run places I've ever visited. No organization, seemed like no preparation for the crowds. Employees acted as we were bothering them just by showing up at the Will Call window. Sections not clearly marked, but we able to find out broken seats for the evening. This place definitely needs a facelift, very old worn out facility. read more

Having been a regular client and renting the venue I cannot say enough about the staff and facility. Any and all concerns and or arrangements get taken care of in a timely manner and the facility staff is eager to help. There is no other facility in the lake area that can compare with the location and parking. read more
