We were told the roofers would use an elevated collection bin for the roofing to avoid damaging the landscaping and surrounding area. Didn't happen. Roofing was completed, driveway and landscaping were damaged. Asked about the schedule for siding, gutters and additional building. No answer. Month later part of the side was done, the contractor loaded up the remaining new box of siding and left. Notified Prominent immediately what was happening but nothing was done. Hired a lawyer who sent a letter to Prominent but neither him or I received a response. My attorney said for me to "keep track of every call/text/email". Two months later the remaining wall was sided but not without damaging our water feature in the landscape. The gutters were to be completed just a couple days after the siding but didn't happen for another two months. We had seamless gutters and the replacement gutters were apparently seamless but used prefabricated corners which created seams. Not what we had. Took another month before addressing the additional building. Well over 50 text/emails and over 40 calls in order to get the job done. Lots of no answers, misinformation, and extreme frustration.

Items were repaired poorly resulting in over $3K spent to fix. We closed on the house on 08/27/2014 and moved in on 08/30/2014. Items were required by the city of Brooklyn Center, MN to be completed which the company never did resulting in the cost and labor being dropped on us when we closed on the home, none of which were disclosed by the seller prior to closing, which the seller did not even attend. (sent a representative) The first weekend in the house, the following repairs were required by HVAC and plumbing professionals as well as repairs made by myself. Repair of gas leak at gas range connection which was installed improperly by the seller. ($60.00 parts) No vent installed for dryer hookup and was not covered by home warranty. A licensed HVAC specialist installed this at a cost of $1,175.00. The furnace had a faulty condensing coil and corroded panels which all had to be replaced at a cost of roughly $1,700.00. Luckily this was covered under our 1 year home warranty but we had to pay $95.00 for the service technician to come out and evaluate the repairs needed. The seller was also required by the City of Brooklyn Center to remove two 30 ft dead evergreen trees which they neglected to do which resulted in 5 hours of labor to remove them myself as well as the $10.00 for the bow saw. We also had a plumbing leak that had to be replaced which cost $360.00 by a licensed plumber as well as a faulty newly installed bath tub faucet that had to be entirely replaced at a cost of $76.00. Also many of the contractually agreed upon repairs were not completed until two days after closing which is unacceptable. They had over one month to make the needed repairs which they signed an agreement to but failed to meet the deadline and the work was all done very sloppily. The gas leak could have cost the lives of my wife and I, as well as our pet and two unborn twins due to carbon monoxide poisoning. All in all the total amount of out of pocket repairs (not including those covered by warranty) are in excess of $1,500.00. In addition, Top Quality Homes is in violation of Brooklyn Center City codes. They did not mow the lawn resulting in the city completing and charging them, trees were not removed, building material waste were dumped in the backyard and not removed, and an HVAC inspection was not completed prior to closing on the house resulting in the $1,700.00 in repairs. We are seeking a reimbursement of these costs, which are a direct result of the negligence and poor quality of work, and lack of concern for us their customers (us). Top Quality Homes, LLC should be held responsible and liable for their blatant disregard for consumer safety.

We have referred them to family and friends--three of those referrals have resulted in projects--and until recently, trusted them without hesitation. Historically, price transparency was something they were willing to provide. Unfortunately, something has changed. Most recently, we were quoted $30-35K for a relatively straightforward mudroom remodel and back door installation. When the formal bid came in at a single lump sum number over $40K with some modest scope additions, we asked for additional transparency into that singular number to understand how much each part of the project was costing so we could determine where adjustments could be made. We were told that a further breakdown of the lump sum would not be provided. Over the next two weeks, we removed multiple significant items from the project scope, yet the total price barely changed in response. We asked repeatedly for greater transparency to understand what was still comprising the lump sum price we were being quoted and never received it. At a certain point, the math just did not add up, and it became increasingly difficult to reconcile the number we were being quoted by Plekkenpol with the project scope. When we expressed frustration with the lack of clarity, the response was dismissive and unhelpful. We were told that regardless of project size--even on significantly larger projects--additional price transparency would not be shared and that we should trust them that we are getting the best price. To be clear, this was not about the money--it was about transparency and partnership. We simply wanted to know what we were being charged for. Because Plekkenpol would not tell us how they arrived at their lump sum price, we ultimately chose to end our long-standing relationship and move on. We recently recommended to another family that they consider Plekkenpol, but after this experience, feel obligated to advise them not to proceed due to Plekkenpol's unwillingness to provide transparency in pricing.

Sergey came to our house to check out the damage both exterior and interior, and we set an appointment for Mike and Sergey to return to meet with the insurance adjuster so they could help us work with our insurance company to ensure that the entire roof was covered. The adjuster found evidence of severe weather damage to the roof, and Lifetime Builders placed me on the schedule for installation for the very next week. The crew arrived early on the day they were scheduled. The men were very friendly, and they worked hard all day. The first day, they did most of the removal of the old roof and installed weatherproofing for the new one. They did a phenomenal job on clean-up after the demo day, and they came back first thing the next morning and installed the new roof all within the second day. The workers left my yard looking just as good or better than before once finished with final cleanup. We had a new roof within 2 weeks of calling Lifetime Builders, and Lifetime Builders helped us work with our insurance company to ensure that every expense except our deductible was covered and paid for.
