Ski Zone Road is a dirt road that you follow to the very end. You will come to a gate that says "Private Property", along with a sign saying "Lake Moogarah Water Ski Zone - Established 1961". Proceed through the gate and you will see boat sheds, several caravans and tents set up with families enjoying a relaxed lunch and a few beers, many children riding bikes around the grounds, people boating and water skiing on the lake (or dam), and the club house.
I came here to perform an Easter puppet show in the club house for the young families. It was a tranquil place. Everybody was having a nice time.
The toilet facilities had obviously been upgraded recently because they were clean and modern, which is unusual for a camping ground. They had liquid hand soap, good water pressure and even a Dyson Air Blade hand dryer!
The club house was a little bit run down with several large ants and spiders crawling around the walls and the edges of the carpeted floor. But it was quaint too, and very "camping ground", if you're into roughing it. It also seemed like a nice place for the campers to come and enjoy special events.
The canteen staff in there seemed very friendly and accomodating. In fact everybody on site running the events and making sure the campers were enjoying themselves seemed like lovely people.
They had a lovely Easter Saturday afternoon lined up for the kids. They had a colouring competition, and a chalk drawing session, followed by the puppet show. Then the Easter Bunny arrived to lead the kids on an Easter Egg hunt! While we packed down the puppet stage, the staff set up all these dining tables with fancy Italian red and white checkered table cloths and flower centrepieces. After the Easter Egg hunt, everybody was going to be treated to a lovely restaurant-style dinner. What a nice, special day they planned for everybody! Happy memories for all in attendance. I'm happy to have been invited to be a part of their special day. read more
