So, I made the trip to get Upton's Traditional Seitan and just explore the store. They have a variety of good options, especially for those who create their own meals and like to use whole-grain ingredients. The store is compact, but it offers a wide variety of products. You can purchase assorted nuts by the ounce, or packaged options. They also have a selection of fruits, vegetables, a hot bar, a deli section, and kombucha. I noticed that many of the brands they carry have fewer ingredients, less artificial flavoring and sugars. I visited this store specifically to purchase seitan, and I ended up buying a couple of packages for $5.29 each, which I find to be a reasonable price. I couldn't find this brand at any other store, but I chose it because it has minimal ingredients, low fat and sodium content, and a generous amount of protein at 2 ounces. Many processed foods have a long list of ingredients and oils, which makes them unhealthy and fatty. As a vegetarian who is trying to eat cleaner, I appreciate this product. I also tried the Brew Doctor kombucha, which usually costs $2.50. However, they have a special offer where you can buy two bottles for a discounted price. The kombucha is very light and refreshing, not overpowering with vinegar or sugar. Overall, it's worth the drive to get this product. I'll definitely be coming back for it and other products in the future.

The employees were cheerful. I found the store to be large, orderly, awesome variety of goods. Priced just right. The parking lot is shared with other businesses, many crosswalks, and daycare next door. Please drive carefully. One minor complaint- the location hyped up the app and $5 off coupon. I downloaded the app and the only coupon generating for today is one that reads "North Fresno" and the "Normandy Park" coupon is not available on the app at this time. Even though i explained this to the cashier, she wouldn't honor it. I wish this location much success and will be back many times as far as i know. As a deli, they actually have the best char siu (Chinese BBQ pork, pictured) out of any other place I've tried in the Seattle area. I'm not kidding, it's been the best for my family and me even after years of getting it and what even seemed like a change in staff behind the deli at one point. It could even compete with Kau Kau over in Chinatown! It's so juicy, doesn't leave a dry, sandy texture in your mouth while you're eating it, and has some slight burn marks in all the right places. The BBQ pork is sometimes kept near the hot foods area near the deli, and the staff can cut it for you whether you grab those portions or get them up at the deli counter. As a grocery store, they're not very huge but also means it's easier to find stuff. It's gone through a ton of changes over the years, and now the floor tiles are a darker color when they used to be white like the walls long ago. Their produce and dairy is usually very fresh whenever my mom and I get them here, and staff - some of whom I've seen working there since I was little - is very friendly. I don't live as close to here as I used to anymore, but I always think of this place whenever I pass by the area since it gives me a nice, nostalgic feeling, especially since I was born and raised in the Beacon Hill neighborhood.
