I happened upon Trailhead Park during a recent visit to Winter Haven. Close to downtown, it was the perfect place to take a break and stretch my legs after the long drive. The park is a short walk from Lake Silver across the street. While walking through the park I admired the extensive playground being enjoyed by a number of children on the swings, slides, and climbing areas. The playground area has rubber flooring for safety. and the play equipment is color coded, green for ages 2-5, and purple for ages 5-12. Surrounding the play area are wrought iron benches where parents can sit and keep an eye on their kids as they play. Trailhead Park also has a splash pad that opened in 2016 and restrooms. This lively, family-friendly park has great amenities. While geared for kids, it is a relaxing park for all who visit.

The charming downtown area contains many restaurants and shops in historic buildings. Today the park still serves as a gathering place for the community. In 2007, Downtown City Park was redesigned to enhance its recreation and beauty for residents and visitors to the city of Auburndale. In the eastern corner of the park is a number of umbrella shaded picnic tables and an engaging playground that is fenced in for safety. The playground area has an artificial turf, cushioning surface to protect little knees and bottoms. The playground has a multilevel tower with climbing structures and two slides. There is also a play train which is a nod to Auburndale's history as a railroad town. Civil engineer Louis Randolph Mclain, who was working for the railroad on the extension of the system between Lake Alfred and Saddle Creek, is credited with founding Auburndale. The historic 1927 Seaboard Air Line Rail Depot is in the northern part of the park. The park also has restrooms and a historic bandstand with a stage for community events like the annual CityFest music festival and other events throughout the year. In the western part of the park is the Rotary Butterfly Garden with butterfly attracting native Florida plants. This well maintained and family friendly park offers a great place to spend time with family. Whether coming for exercise, play, or a special event, this wonderful spot capture the spirit of historic Auburndale.

The theme park is very cute and clean with lots of fun entertainment perfectly geared towards children 2-9 in my opinion. The suggested age online is 1-7. All of the rides are relatively short waits with less than 10 minutes for each. This is great because kids have such short attention spans. The rides are very appropriate for toddlers. They are similar to a carnival in my opinion. They have simple motion with lots of cute Peppa Pig theming. The best part of the day was certainly the splash pad. Our kids really loved the slides. Make sure you don't have zippers on your kids swimsuits, they do not allow zippers and will make you cover up or change. For food and drinks there is a restaurant but I highly suggest bringing your own foods and drinks. The prices are a little crazy in my opinion but on par with other theme parks. To me Peppa Pig is very sensory friendly. I would highly suggest for a child with sensory needs. My only complaint about Peppa Pig Theme Park is the lack of misters and fans throughout. Despite having a splash pad and shaded areas it's still very hot inside. Especially at the security check in area. Make sure you bring some fans. I would still return until my kids are sick of it. Great experience.

The one my child was in squeaked with every move. There was rust on several of them. There was a sand area, but both dig tools they had were broken. There was also a softball field and a building that I am assuming you could rent for small events like a baby shower. On the day we went, we were one of two families there, so it wasn't too crowded. I really appreciate all of the shade and my kid enjoyed the play area. Overall, a nice park, that could use a bit of an update. We will be back.

Early settlers held picnics and games on the grounds. There is an obelisk in the playground in the park dedicating it in honor of August Heckscher as "A token of his love for the children of this community" 1926. Today Crystal Lake Park is still a gathering place for the community. The city-owned park contains recreational facilities and space for picnic and barbecues. Park amenities include grills, picnic pavilion with tables, restroom, sand volleyball court, and he fenced in playground. I love all of the oak trees providing shade and dripping in Spanish moss. The children of Lake Wales have been enjoying this charming play space for generations.

It was fun to try it and it's definitely a nice change from the park on a hot day. My son loved some of the crazy slides. There is a lazy river and lots of Lego water stations the kids can play with. That being said, there are a few downsides: the location is not ideal. It's all the way at the end of the park so you have to walk through Legoland and back when you go. What makes this even more tedious is that there are no towels provided so you have to get all that stuff yourself through the park. The chairs were a bit run down. Only one food booth with limited options and they weren't accommodating at all when I accidentally ordered the wrong fountain drink. I doubt I will come back. The hotel pool is more fun.
