As our daughters wrap up their 6th and 2nd grade school years, I fondly think back to when my…read morehusband and I took our first tentative steps through the front doors of Chicago Waldorf School for a Thursday morning tour in the fall of 2013. We entered into a warm, inviting space and were greeted by friendly faces and a caring energy. What we heard and saw in those couple hours completely changed our view and understanding of what school should be. We came away with a sense of openness, excitement and newness. After experiencing one Waldorf tour and orientation, we knew at a deep level this was what "school" should look like and transferred our daughters mid-year from the school they were attending. The focus on experiential learning paired with the practice of meeting the child with a cirriculum that matches where they are developmentally is paramount to the Waldorf educational philosophy. The parent community is also a huge part of what we have grown to love about the school. It is a vibrant, energitic and fun group of people who call CWS home. My husband and I are incredibly grateful to be a part of it.

The Chicago Waldorf School....although I have much to say, I will leave this brief and to the…read morepoint. The school is poorly ran, they don't know how to accept change, they use people that willingly volunteer their limited free time until the person feels so used they never return to the "community". I happen to think that the philosophical base behind Waldorf education is way ahead of the curve; however, the people running the Chicago school are way behind. Maybe one day everything will click for them and the students can get the education they deserve without the distractions that have constantly plagued the school. - Alum

Tiny Giants is an incredible daycare! Our son has been going to TG since he was 3 months old (now…read morehe's 3). The curriculum is wonderfully diverse--blending creative arts, music class, early STEM (yes, I said STEM... even for a daycare), literacy, and cultural learning in a way that keeps our child engaged and excited every day. It's clear that the program is thoughtfully designed to support all aspects of development. The staff at Tiny Giants are truly exceptional. One of their staff members has been with Tiny Giants for 15 years. They're kind, attentive, and deeply dedicated to each child's well-being and growth. You can feel the warmth and care from the moment you walk in, and it gives us so much peace of mind knowing our child is in such capable, loving hands. Things we love about TG ... weekly music class, updates throughout the day about how much they've eaten, potty breaks, nap time (start and end time) and the pictures and videos! Lots of pictures and videos. They have recently started doing a themed show and tell on Fridays. This has helped our son to express himself , describe something and create a story. This has also built his own self confidence and to think about something more meaningfully. Music class with Mr Ray is absolutely the best day of the week for our son. Mr Ray loves his job and he will shout it from the roof tops! They also have spirit days and tons of events throughout the year to bring families together and give us something to do with our little ones. They are always giving back... to the commmunity and to their staff. We're so grateful to be part of the Tiny Giants community. If you're looking for a nurturing, enriching, and inclusive environment for your little one, this is the place!

The teachers and staff have been indispensable to our kids development and milestones. The running joke in our household is that the teachers at TG need to slow down so we can catch up. Our kiddos love learning through the indoor and outdoor play and child-centered curriculum and activities that Tiny Giants offers. They have especially benefitted from the socialization they get with their classmates. I've been especially impressed over the years by the caring community that Tiny Giants has fostered among their families. Whether its been through weekend events, room parent communications, or informal park run-ins with fellow TG families, both our kiddos and my wife and I have made strong connections and fast friends through the Tiny Giants community.

Being from the east coast, I'm aware of the values of a Quaker education - observing my child's (and other students') growth only highlights its impact even more - I wish more people knew about it. The classroom environment and skilled, caring faculty provide individualized learning rather than the tug and scrum between discipline and attention we've experienced in other schools. If you are searching for the right school for your K-8th grade learner, give Chicago Friends a go. Now more than ever, our kids need this kind of education. It's a great place.

We were initially unsure about the pacing and whether the academic rigor will be there due to the smaller class sizes. But it hasn't been a problem. Our child comes back each day and tells us that he is being challenged in his classes and that he is enjoying the "difficulties" because it's "fun" which tells us the he is on track. He also tells us that the kids has been welcoming to him as "the new kid" and that he is free to be himself and make friends with kids both older and younger. We think CFS is perfect for anyone who is looking for a nurturing environment socially with a more individualized learning based of each child's needs.

Our son has been going to Kids Future for the past year and we cannot say enough good things about…read morethe care he is receiving. A few highlights about why we love KFDC: 1. They keep the kids on a great schedule. Kids thrive on routine and the center has a great schedule that includes free play time, circle time, and a good amount of time for lunch and naps. 2. We've seen leaps and bounds development in our 3 year old during his time at KFDC. He can write his own name already and is even starting to read some short words and I think this is because of the learning repetition that they have in their daily circle time. 3. They regularly get the kids outside. There is a park nearby that they utilize regularly but will even get the kids out for a neighborhood walk if the playground isn't an option on a given day. 4. They use Procare to provide regular updates on your child's day. They send a lot of pictures and information so I feel updated on what my child does and I can also talk to him about his day when he comes home. 5. STAFF! We have seen minimal turnover during our time at the center and this is super important for kids at this age. We've been at other centers with higher turnover and seen it have a negative impact on our kids. Our son truly LOVES his teachers ad KFDC and it is nice to know they have been there awhile. 6. Price. They are an outlier in terms of affordable daycare in the area. For the level of care their provide their pricing is very reasonable. If you choose Kids Future as a care option for your child you are making a solid investment in your child's care and education.

He is always happy to arrive and we see him cared for and doted on by the teachers everyday. Communication is top notch with use of the app, email, and one on one conversation. The tuition includes food which really sets this apart from other daycares. The progress reports are also very helpful to make sure we're aligned on growth and development. Highly highly recommend Kids Future!
