This does cost more than the Apostle Islands Tour, but it's almost like a private sailing session. I would advise sunscreen due to exposure, even if you're not white. The staff are friendly and helpful. The two adjacent marinas are well laid out with spacious fairways and slips and excellent restroom/shower facilities. I have chartered 32 and 39 foot Benneteaus as well as the Lagoon 380 and been very pleased with the condition and operation of the vessels. I have done the safety reviews with Superior Charters' captains and have found them to be very professional, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Superior Charters sets an outstanding example for all chartering agencies.

The water was crystal clear and reminded me of the ocean. The captain was great at pointing out landmarks and wildlife. He also knew a lot about the history of the islands dating back to the 1800's! If you've never been to the islands and cannot make it out yourself I would suggest going on the cruise, but maybe a shorter one.

There was no water in the tanks and they couldn't solve why the battery kept draining. This dead battery caused us to be marooned for 7 hours one day and run aground the next. When we crashed into shore my son almost drowned, telling me he didn't know if he'd come up for air again. When I complained about his boat, the owner called me rudely and acted like a huge dick. Of course he took no responsibility. A loser outfit. Don't support these crooks.

Captain Terry, the owner, has made our trips very enjoyable. He's been in the Bayfield area for a long time, and knows the surrounding Apostle Islands well. He also knows how to carry on a fun conversation and tell some sea tales, if that's what you're looking for. Overall, highly recommend Catchun-Sun if you want a relaxed sail or even if you're looking to assist as first mate and learn some sailing techniques. Either way, you'll have a great time.

At least the temperature was perfect when we were using it.) Everything is clean and security is nice so you don't feel like anybody can just walk right in and use everything. At the clubhouse, there is a great area upstairs for hanging out and eating - a nice well-stocked kitchen - and everything you need to grill!
