When I first started to look for preschools in Langford I was disappointed to find that there weren't many options, most places I found were day cares trying to pass themselves off as a preschool. Pussywillow is not a daycare, the curriculum is strictly that of a school and the staff have targets and objectives (along with lots of fun, play, and free time) for the children to strive to so that that are well prepared for Kindergarden. I've ven spoken to Kindergarden teachers who can tell if they child went to Pussywillow simply by how they are doing not only academically but also emotionally as well. I would recommend this preschool to anyone, the staff are warm and welcoming and genuinely care about each child that goes there.

On January 10, 2025, my child's enrollment was abruptly terminated without due process or proper justification. This decision by the principal and current board appears to be retaliatory in nature and raises serious concerns about administrative oversight. If not properly addressed, similar situations could affect other families who voice concerns to the board. As former board members (2023/2024), my wife and I are well-versed in school policies. Upon receiving an allegation of violating the Photography Policy (Page 13, Parent Handbook) from the principal on November 29, 2024, I requested specific details about the alleged violation through multiple emails, also copying the board on subsequent communications. Despite multiple follow-up attempts on December 4, 2024 and January 9, 2025, we received no clarification or any evidence of the alleged violation. Instead, the only response was a termination letter from the principal the day after my latest inquiry to the board. The Parent Handbook also outlines an Appeals Policy (Page 18), stating, "If a concern is in regard to the Principal, the matter should be presented in writing to the Board. The Board will contact all parties involved and after careful consideration, will resolve the matter." To date, I have not received any response from the board concerning this matter. Their failure to follow the Appeals Policy procedures represents a serious breach of their duties and responsibilities. As a consequence, an innocent child has been displaced from the educational environment without proper cause or process. I urge society members to consider electing a new board soon to prevent similar incidents in the near future. This is in the best interest of the society. During my tenure as board secretary (2023/2024), I compiled comprehensive documentation regarding various concerns within the school community. My repeated offers to officially transfer these documents to ensure board continuity have been ignored, despite the board chair's verbal promise to "get back to me" on November 21, 2024. This commitment remains unfulfilled today. It is imperative that the society elect a new board to ensure these confidential board documents can be properly investigated and addressed. I am sharing this experience to promote transparency and help other families make informed decisions about their children's education. All relevant correspondence has been preserved for documentation, verification and legal purposes.

Teacher Gail and Teacher Vanessa are both amazing and the environment is clean, fun and well looked after. I know my kids will remember their preschool experience and their teachers forever. I feel like I have been in this small community within our larger neighbourhood and its a great feeling. One of the greatest advantages is that I already know many parents and kids that will move on to elementary school together with my kids. It is a great feeling to have a connection with other families before even starting kindergarten! I feel more confident in my parenting choices and abilities and have learned so much through this experience. I highly recommend this program to anyone. You do have to put in some work to keep things going but you will take away more than what you put in. Definitely worth it!

Emails sent out are unclear, teachers are confused as to what's happening ( and they will tell you that) so not professional on that front at all. In addition, be warned as they may happen to you : my shy, innocent and introverted natured daughter was subjected to blame by the unapproachable looking head mistress. She was unfairly dismissed from attending the school based on petite reasons like ( ready for this ) .. spilling juice ! which in actual fact she didn't even do! I had geared my daughter for over a year to attend this preschool - which my son had just finished attending ( preschool) and now she is utterly distort as to why she can't go there! my daughter is one who takes time to adjust and accustom to people and places and I had prepared her for this school - only to be told in July ( when I had already paid!) that she can't go because reasons like ' she split juice on the table!'. Furious I am forsure, but very upset for my daughters as to what's going on as I have to (1) find another preschool in the middle of the summer beak and (2) try and make her feel accustomed and familiar to another preschool. I hope no one goes through this - especially over juice ! The actually teachers here are nice , but if you ever encounter or see the head mistress - she can make it the worst experience for you! so it can't really be over juice ... so Why did she do this ? We ( friends that went to the same school and I ) believe the reason is : its all about the dollars and cents, my daughter was signed up for doing a 2 day programme Monday and Wednesday ( which was agreed on ) and I'm very sure she filled this spot with some one who wanted Monday / Wednesday and Friday - the extra day and money greed just gave her a pile of petite incorrect reasons to hurt my daughter and gain her a bad reputation.
