Ahem anyway back to the reviewing. The range is a huge shop full of most things you need for the house, Diy items, and a whole load of crafting items including painting equipment, paper ect. The garden centre bit although small does seem to stock most of what you might need. In winter they have a very good Christmas bit too. I love glass baubles which most places don't sell, but this place does and in summer looks out for camping stuff. Staff are in general very helpful although once or twice I have had a couldn't care less attitude, but the good far outweigh the bad.

The store seems to be really wide, but doesn't extend too far back which I think makes it feel bigger than it actually is, and means that you have to walk further (or so it seems) to get from one dept to another. I got some fab garden planters for £21 half price, so was quite happy. The garden centre was fairly small, but there was still a good range. Toilets are on the far left of the store, which I discovered only after I'd walked all the way to the kitchens at the far right of the store with a 'needing' 4 yr old. All clean though which is a bonus. No queue at the till when I was there, so no complaints there. A good place to call in for DIY essentials, or just for a bit of a look around.

They do tend to have special offers on though so keep your eyes open for bargains and they also sell seconds. Upstairs they sell material on rolls so if recovering furniture or making your own curtains is your thing then you'll be quite happy. Ample parking clean toilets and a nice little coffee shop. The shop is a bit bigger than you think, but still small and because they have such a lot of stuff you may need to be a bit careful with any bags and I think pushchair/wheel chair users would really struggle. Anyone who makes jams, chutneys or things like that will be very happy as they carry a range of kilner jars and bottles including the replacement seals. The people behind the counter have always been very helpful with any questions that I've had and are to be commended. Parking is available on the street at meters.

We scanned our items at the self service then had to wait for the one advisor to finish serving an elderly lady who needed full attention to pay for her items. Once the staff member was available to us, she was unable to adjust the price so we had to queue for a 3rd time at the refund point where the advisor had a long queue of other frustrated customers. I think your regular M&S customer expects as a bare minimum to have staff members available to process your sale.

It's not a bad-sized store, and there was a really good selection of ladieswear. Everyone knows M&SI don't need to tell you what they sell! Decent sale items when I was there though, I love January! Didn't use the cafe but it looked pleasant enough, located upstairs but there are lifts so you don't have to battle with the escalators and your buggy. Nothing to set the earth alight, but a good solid traditional store.
