I love Lakes Gas. I had Lakes Gas when we lived in River Falls and when we moved to Star Prairie, I wanted to keep Lakes Gas and have never regretted it. They are always responsive and helpful. I love Christine and she's always been amazing. Our deliveries are timely and the driver is so nice. He backs down our very long driveway and even if we haven't been able to shovel a path to the tank, he always fills it and never complains. I would recommend them without hesitation. read more

Initially great customer service and response time. Once I became a customer I quickly found this was incorrect. Be prepaid for a lack of communication and customer respect. I would recommend reading a gas companies reviews verse looking at costs. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. And I'd change companies if I thought I'd get better service from anyone else but I've heard equally poor things about the other propane companies in our area. It's -16 F this morning and we are out of propane. We turned down the thermostat yesterday to 60 in hopes we would preserve the propane until they decide to show up and fill the tank. It's freezing in my house. We requested a fill up over a week ago when we were above 20% per their instructions (we only have two fill ups a year because we have a 1000 gallon tank and prepaid for the year). We called twice last week to see why they had not come and filled it and discovered the second time we called we weren't even on their schedule. They made a sorry excuse that they had 5 days to get to us and we reminded them we had requested a fill up more than 5 days before. The office staff is just rude and this is not the first major issue we have had with them. I would switch companies if I didn't think others would be almost equally as bad. We had a wood burning boiler for years and thought switching to propane would be easier on our old backs but they are ridiculous. If you have better options in your area, I'd suggest you try to use them. And hey, give me a recommendation. This is beyond stupid but seems to be an industry standard of exceptionally poor service. read more

My brother called on Friday for a propane fill. It is now Wednesday, and no propane! Called and they want $125 extra to come out today, or $75 extra to guarantee by tomorrow! Almost a week in the middle of February with no heat or hot water! He's switching to Farrellgas. Based on the only other Yelp review, sounds like they treat their employees as lousy as they do their paying customers. Shame on you, Lakes Gas! read more

Lakes Gas has yet to get our bill correct and when we ask for a corrected bill they say there system is old and they are unable too. I have called every month; since every month they bill us for our neighbors and ours. I think they are cheating us out of money. The bill is very hard to read. Lakes Gas is a company that operates on the edge of the law. The L.P. gas industry is not regulated by the Public Services like natural gas and electric suppliers and that is why Lakes gets away with treating paying customers like garbage. I have never had more problems with any company in my 62 years,you don't need problems with heating fuel in Wisconsin,but if you have Lakes Gas you will have frozen pipes and motel bills.Moved into a place in June 2017, LP tank was old and about one inch per foot from level and about 1 o'clock off plumb,gauge in tank will not operate like this so I asked Lakes to level the tank at the same time I put 600$ cash on account. They did nothing about the tank except fill it and tell me that the tank was now too heavy to level up,"We'll do it next time." You check tank,reads 30%,call Lakes they say "it'll be a week" 2 days later out of gas,call Lakes they come out fill tank and charge you 125$ for quick service and 40$ to start furnace and water heater.I ask truck driver about gauge not working he says,"Just keep a 2x4 right by the tank,when you check fuel hit the top of tank with 2x4 that will free up the gauge,I'll show you." he wacks the tank sure enough gauge shows tank had less than 10%. This happened twice,I was paid ahead so they take that money and won't deliver without prepay. One day they say 250 gal.min.purchase next thing they say shortages are limiting purchases to 125 gal. I called Countryside Co-op on 4-3-2019 next day new tank lower gas price and friendly people. Lakes has 240$ of mine and are starting to nickle and dime that away from me we'll see what happens.
