They really are a "Jack of all trades" business. We've had 2 sliders replaced which included widening the area a bit and a new entry door, tile work done around our fireplace and bar/island area and then brought them back to continue the bar/island tile for a backsplash and the backsplash on the opposite side of our kitchen. Oh yeah, did I mention they paint too. We had our ceiling done to cover up smoke damage from the old fireplace and it looks great! They are an honest company that won't nickel and dime you, his estimates have been super reasonable. We could not be happier with how everything turned out.

Maybe there are some issues with expectations here. I look upon a "handyman" as a resourceful, experienced, hired hand ... not as a licensed contractor ... a "Mr. Fixit", not an engineer or builder. We generally use a "handyman" to fix things are broken, replace things that are worn out, or correct mistakes made by prior occupants of our 125+ year old home. If we're ever thinking about doing a major remodel or addition, we'll be looking for a reputable licensed contractor, not a handyman ... someone we can hold to top quality building and code-compliant standards. About refuse removal ... if you're working with a handyman, that'll be your responsibility. Light accumulations can probably be combined with your weekly trash pickup for free. Anything more that that will probably cost $200 to $400 to have someone haul away (GotJunk, Bagster, dumpster, etc.). Settle this issue with your hired hand before the work begins and it won't come as an unhappy surprise later.
