We have been here for 8 months, at first things were rocky...So we were really concerned. The maintenance staff has been amazing. They fixed every request the same day we called them in! My family and I have been living here for over a year now and we just resigned our lease a few months ago when they were changing property management companies. I'm not sure why they got rid of the old management but the new management seems to be incompetent and are of no help. Last summer our window nets got destroyed from the storms and I put in a work order to get them replaced so we could open our windows (we live near the lake so the amount of bugs and spiders crawling around is gross) and they never came out. I asked at least 3 times and they told me they had to order new ones. That must have been a lie because they still never came. I gave up on that idea. Then a few weeks ago we had a major storm and a neighbors large trampoline was thrown into our backyard and it damaged some of the wood siding on the roof area. It took almost a week to get in contact with the owner of the trampoline and he still didn't remove it after we had asked him too. So we went to the management office and they said it was between us and the owners of the trampoline. I thought that was a little absurd since we rent and don't own the property so I thought they'd have to get involved. Then I let them know about the damage and against the management office said that the owner would have to claim it with his insurance and they once again cannot get involved. How do I make sure if he claimed it or not if I don't even own the property he damaged? I wanted them to reassure me that this would not cause any problems when it's time for us to move out and their exact words were "no I do not THINK it would cause a problem". So much for reassurance! And my latest complaint is the broken AC. The AC broke on Friday and I called it in that morning and the girl said she would put in a work order. Knowing them, I didn't expect them to come out until the next week even though it's been in the high 90s. Today is Sunday and with three fans blowing, it's still excruciatingly hot and we can't open our windows because they never replaced the nets -_- oh and I'm writing this review while I sit in my air conditioned car outside of my house. The space and backyard is nice but it's not worth the money. I can't wait to get out of here! Oh and the new online bill pay is confusing and the management couldn't even help me set it up because they were just as confused! It might be better now but I'm just going to stick with giving them checks. read more

I am going through a divorce and I don't have any income outside of child support. I called and explained to Deanne that a friend would let me use his income to qualify for the apartment but he would not be living with me. She told me that would be fine and that they could do it. She also went on to explain to me that with this situation, if I were to skip out or trash the apartment, my friend would be responsible along with me. I told her that we both understood what came with that responsibility. I then drove to the office and handed her the applications, deposit and other fees, which totaled $700. The very next day, my friend gets a call from Shannon asking about his current rental agreement and how she couldn't let him have two rental agreements. Basically, she told him that he could not be on the lease if he wasn't living there, the complete opposite of what Deanne had told me the day before. I went in later to pick up the money that I had left and was only given the $500 deposit. They scammed me out of $200 by saying that I signed the forms that said they were non-refundable. I understand what I signed, but like I told Shannon, I never would have signed those forms if I was told the truth to begin with, that they didn't allow someone to be on the lease that didn't live there. I've been living here about five months and am really happy with it. The community is quiet, safe and well maintained. There are several play areas for kids. They are pet friendly and my unit was clean when I moved in. We're right across the street from the lake so I love my view when I'm driving home. There are things that are dated, but I wouldn't expect top of the line for this price range. I would definitely recommend to someone looking to move to the area. read more

Chris the new manager seems superb however the lease Manager I'm assuming that's working in the office has a bit of an attitude. Upon our move in screens were missing, cracks in wood, flooring comping up, even broken glass everywhere. No keys were left for the interior doors which is a necessity with a toddler. The rent was raised even though we got in during their promo for $100 off each unit. Not sure why we didn't get the discount and a $150 increase in addition to that. read more

I'm sure the apartments are fine but the management is insane. They don't understand landlord/tenant law and will verbally tell you things directly conflicting with contracts. If you choose to sign a lease read it again and again becuae they like to sneak things in. We chose not to complete a lease because of the many things in the contract they tried to out in that we're super shady. Also, Chris will fly off the handle if you try to bring up conflicts. I got yelled at and hung up on multiple times without getting any answers except that he/she wasn't going to talk to me because I was yekking( which I did after getting yelled at and hung up in for wanting reasonable answers to reasonable questions.) read more

So me and my husband moved in a week ago. Everything was copacetic as long as they got the $500 deposit, and apparently $320 for prorated rent(which was only 283.06). Still unsure where the number came from? Our kitchen faucet spraying water everywhere, our hall bathtub is constantly dripping, hall toilet is ALWAYS running, master bathtub faucet is SUPER loose, and the carpet in every entryway is coming up. Like I can pull it right up!! So can my 10 month old son! So I relay this to Deanna, the manager, she assures me a work order will be put in and not to worry. This was January 24th. I called on Monday, January 29th and ask what's going on with everything, and when would these items be completed. Well, she says she's not sure so she will call me back; she calls me back and is EXTREMELY RUDE! She says my husband "refused entry, so the maintenance men couldn't go in and do anything. I politely tell her, no, I'm sorry, that can't be true, my husband just wouldn't do that, that doesn't make any sense. WELL, she precedes TO SCREAM AT ME THAT MY HUSBAND REFUSED ENTRY AND THAT IT WILL GET DONE AND HANGS UP ON ME!!!! I was flabbergasted! We moved in a week ago and I'm literally being yelled at for issues WE DIDN'T CAUSE!!! I tell my husband to call, he calls right away. She tells him that they have to hire a contractor to fix the carpet and that they were apparently a 'no show' on Wednesday, January 24th or 25th(she was unsure, completely unsure), and that she had "no idea what I was talking about and that I was yelling at her". This review has been updated as of July 20, 2016: WHERE TO BEGIN? I had lived at Lakeshore Village previously (about 6 years ago) and absolutely loved it. Unfortunately, I had to move out for reasons beyond my control. When my friends and I were looking for a place to live, I pitched this location and everybody was on board. The morning we were supposed to move in (July 31, 2015), I received a call from one of the office ladies informing me that our unit was not ready and wanted to know if we could reschedule. I told her that it was absolutely unacceptable since I would have to extend my existing lease, as well as reschedule with cable and utilities. We negotiated that we would be allowed to move in that night at 7PM. When we moved in, the toilets were absolutely filthy (literally looked like somebody had defalcated and left it sitting there for weeks in each toilet), several items from the previous tenant (such as 2 dozen bottles of Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce and 6 2-liter bottles of Dr Pepper 10), the "new renovation" involved laying cheap laminate over the existing tile, and just overall a total dump. The only thing that was in good shape was the carpet. We decided to keep moving stuff in throughout the evening. At about 11 PM, the cleaning crew showed up to clean up the unit. I lost my temper , but at that point, was too exhausted to do anything else. Later through our lease, we had learned that the previous manager was horrible and the office/new manager (Chris Sredanovich) ensured us that they were going to turn the place around. The biggest complaint we had while living there was our neighbors' dogs (a pitbull and a mix) were constantly left outside unsupervised and barking non-stop. Despite several warnings in community newsletters and several complaints, absolutely NOTHING was done. Near our move out date, rain had flooded the carpet of the ENTIRE unit. Since my roommates and I had moved most of our stuff out by then, we weren't aware of the flooding and noticed it a couple of days later. When I contacted the office, they assured us that we would not get charged for the cleaning/replacement of the carpet since it was beyond our control. Today, I received the final account statement and noticed that we were not only charged for the carpet (which, according to them, was "left very dirty and stained"), but literally everything else that we had cleaned, leaving us with NO deposit left over. I am absolutely dissatisfied with the office staff and Mr. Sredanovich's behavior. While I thought having a new staff would mean change, this is absolutely not the case. I will NEVER recommend this location to anybody looking for a place to live. It's extremely far from everything (excluding the lake and the airport) and is overpriced for what you have to deal with. Find a rental house in town or a large apartment. This place is a dump. read more

We have lived in this complex for more than 3 years. We were more than happy with the management and the response to broken items....such as an air conditioner that went out when it was in the 100s. We had to call several times and they eventually came out and were very nice. However, when the new management took over, it was horrible. They decided that there could be NO dogs could be in the back yards without someone with them and gave residence a 2 day notice. So, being that we had dogs that were outside when we were gone, it posed a huge issue. We decided to move. Well, when we turned in our keys, the receptionist made the comment..."we need your forwarding address in case we decide to return your deposit". We cleaned the duplex, took the garbage to the curb (we knew garbage pick-up was the same day). We also knew they were updating the duplexes...renovating the kitchens, floors, etc. Well, they charged us for everything. LITERALLY. We owed beyond our 500.00 deposit. We should have asked for before and after pictures to see if they really did all the cleaning and painting they charged us for. Oh I forgot to mention, the bill was sent to us one day after we gave them the keys. It is sad, they take advantage of people like this. read more
