I attended this venue for my nieces year 12 Graduation. Despite our group paying $800 for our table the venue did not cater for our pre-dinner nibbles. Three guests had informed the venue well in advance that they required Gluten free bread rolls. Unfortunately, this was obviously too difficult a request and the guests had not been given any food until well into the evening. There are only 4 female toilets to cater for 300 women. I had my debutante ball here about ten years ago, and more recently attended a wedding, both in the main ballroom .This is a beautiful venue. The sweeping staircase, stunning chandeliers, and gorgeous table settings have an air of elegance to them - whether at a debutante ball or wedding. Even the entrance and foyer to the building is beautiful, with a white exterior, and marble entrance. If you are planning a cinderella-esqe type event, where everything is traditional and sweeping grandeur then this is definitely the place for you. Both times I attended an event here, the food was delicious and the banquet service staff were great- they were especially good at keeping the drinks flowing, which is a big thumbs up for me.I just wish that the events held there could run later, though I guess that is the same with any function room -plus after they had kept the drinks flowing, it was probably better that I went home to bed anyway! read more

Went to a college function Don't bother listening to any speeches. The acoustics are very poor. May I suggest the astablishment invest in a intergrated PA system. I would never recommend the venue for a function that involved any formalities other than that the venue is very good. read more

Had the worst experience with the staff at Lakeside. Dominique was rude and the owner Alfred was even worse. Both were not flexible, unreasonable and not accommodating to our needs. They say one thing and do another or change their minds half way without a reason and said well....that's that and if you don't like it, you can leave! Horrible management my partner and I had our reception booked here payed deposit and found out I was pregnant. we asked them if we could move the date till after the baby was born. they refused to help us and said we will loose our deposit if we cancel our wedding.we told them six months prior very disappointed in them will not recommend them to any one posting this review every where possible and writing into a current affair. Adding now that I posted my review the reception rang claiming they were thinking about helping us out but now that they seen my review they told us to basically jam our wedding and that we are no longer welcome to have our wedding there and we are out of pocket $2000 and with a baby on the way. Before we booked with them they told us they would do everything to help us create an amazing wedding day once you hand them the deposit then they couldn't care to help us out till they see a review and then claim they were going to lol. read more
