The property has quite a few shade trees, but it could use a few more. It does have one boat dock and a small fishing pier. The one feature that probably most readers are wondering about is if it has a boat ramp. Yes it does have a single boat ramp accessible to the lake and there is a fee. There is a boat launch payment kiosk located next to the ramp which will print out your daily pass. The park has no fixed parking lot so you'll just have to park next to the road either on the grass or gravel. Definitely a great spot for a family picnic or to go fishing. Wow, this is a hidden gem. It is genuinely an "international" sculpture park. In 1976, a local…read moresculptor invited 26 sculptors from 6 different countries to Liberty Hill, where they worked for 2 months and created giant statues for the park. It was originally located downtown but was eventually vandalized (gross). It was subsequently moved to the Lions Foundation Park. It can be accessed through there (355 Loop 332) or through Louine Noble Elementary School (101 Loop 332). There is ample parking on either side. This is a great spot for parents to take young kids. It's a big area with lots of art pieces (26 as previously mentioned). Kids have lots of space to run around and interact with the art, if they'd like (just watch your little ones carefully as they can obviously bump their heads). There is a little tree grove nearby for shade. Plenty of beautiful wildflowers. Last but not least, there's even a public playground. There's a private playground just for the school that's fenced off but there is another one that's accessible (slides, swings, etc.). There is some sort of local museum located in the Lions Foundation Park. We didn't get to see it since it was closed on Sunday. They also host some sort of sculpture festival here (October 10, 2026). Anyway, awesome (free) spot. Highly recommended for parents or anyone who loves sculpture (a lot of interesting pieces here).

This park consists of a nice playscape, water fountain, and four picnic tables. It has a decent gravel trail that runs around the perimeter with some green space. It is surrounded by some older residential homes, as well as some new ones which are being built as of this writing. It's a nice asset to the local community, but it's not really worth seeking out.

Due to COVID-19, it was one of the very few parks opened the weekend of my visit. It wasn't crowded, plenty of open space for social distancing. I was impressed with the cleanliness, even the picnic tables and park restrooms were well maintained. The park offers a nice view of the lake with lots of boating & jet skiing activities. Boat ramps are available on the park. The over night camping section of the park remains closed due to COVID-19 restrictions. I will definitely consider Arkansas Bend Park in the future for outdoor activities. Next time I'll be better prepared for some picnicking & BBQ, along with some extended fun in the sun.

There is a nice wide paved trail that winds around the park, which is about 3 acres in size. Lots of cedar and Live Oak trees throughout the property. Street parking only. It has a gravelly trail that runs along the hilly topography. At the center of the property is a pond with a fountain, and there are several turtles who call this pond home. Lake Buchanan is well a "lake" and not much different from most lakes. It is great for boating,…read morefishing, swimming and camping. What sets it apart from the other Highland Lakes is that it has a beautiful waterfall and Garret Island (a large forested island with a beautiful cove with a pink granite sand beach) and is the perfect opportunity for birding. Lake Buchanan is about 1 hour NW of Austin and well worth the drive for all things lake. Feb. through May is great for fishing White and Striped Bass that as I understand are stocked by the city as they do not naturally spawn so they are abundant as well as Catfish, Large Mouth Bass and Carp. And you probably do not want to know this if you are swimming but the lake also has ALLIGATOR GARS - my last visit I took a picture of a dried up dead one on the Garret Island beach which I will post. Have fun and watch out for the Gars!
