Such a beautiful setting, but much room for improvement. We arrived and were greeted by a shy lady, who advised us to sit and wait in the bar area for our table. We were not offered a drink at this point or told that we were supposed to place the order ourselves at the bar. This wasn't obvious as there were no other customers at the bar, only staff. We were told to take a seat in the waiting area but there were no seats so my partner had to share my stool. It was very busy but its only common sense to look and see if you have room to seat you incoming business.. if you cant treat everyone the same you cant charge everyone the same. Once seated at our table we immediately noticed how our chairs and table itself slid around the highly polished tiled floor, like we were on an ice rink.. it was funny at first but got annoying by the end of the evening. The décor was indeed beautiful, but the food Im sorry to say was less than mediocre.. despite there being nicely uniformed waiting staff, our food and several others were served by kitchen staff, wearing dirty chef whites. When our bright NEON red tikka marsala arrived, I asked the chef who brought it to us, how they achieved such an intense bright red colour with natural ingredients he didnt have a clue, he said its just who it comes in the packet!!! I am a 4 star chef, and have been in the catering business all my life. I have never in my life used packet ingredients to make a basic marsala. The food itself tasted over sweet over died, didnt have a single fresh ingredient in it and to be honest about as Asian as Boris Johnson. The service in the restaurant was quick and friendly, we were constantly asked if we were ok, but we were presented with the bill without being asked if we were ready to leave.. The manager gave me a free top up on my wine at the end of the meal, but i think this was after he realised he was getting reviewed. So all in all, I would say if you are out on the town, with the intentions of getting drunk and want a quick macdonalds style service in a plush setting, and pot noodle style curry then this is the place for you! but for me, if its not as good as i can cook myself at home and I dont feel like i am being treated as well as I would treat my house guests .. Im simply not giving you my money- sorry LALA's, please try harder :) read more
