The brunch Bunch decided that we would give Lalo's a go, and stopped in at 10 AM for breakfast. The parking lot is almost nonexistent, and if you decide to go, be prepared to park on the street, down the block, or someplace other than in the small parking lot. The main restaurant has an overflow section, and you may end up there like we did. It definitely feels like an annex and not a restaurant. It's essentially a room with tables, chairs, and whatever basic things they need in the back. The wait staff is super busy, and yet they remain super friendly. Because they are so busy, service will feel slow. People traditionally we'll have breakfast/brunch here on the weekends because that's when they serve Barbacoa. Barbacoa can be purchased literally in either a half pound, a full pound or more. It's served on a large plate, with warmed tortillas on top, and a side of fresh onions, cilantro, peppers, etc. served in a piece of aluminum foil. Essentially, you make your own tacos. Some of the gang ordered the Barbacoa, and generously shared a bite. It's cooked well, but frankly, unless you're adding one of the offered salsa to it, doesn't really have much of a flavor. I would've been disappointed how I ordered it for myself. I just wanted to pack a flavor punch. You can order the consume on the side, and it's served in a big huge suit bowl. It's really more of a bowl of clear broth, and for me doesn't really go with the meat. We ordered the Cubana, and the fried quesadilla. The Cubana is by far the winner! If you're going to have breakfast here, get the cabana. It's a steal of a deal, and is a total taste sensation. The role that it served on is light, airy, and is actually the perfect bread for a Cubana. It's not hard, or hard to bite into. There are so many different layers of meat, cheese, egg, and all of it together made for a perfect bite every time, but it was stupendous. The waiter said that their fried quesadilla is the way to go. We ordered it with chicharron, and it was tasty. It was almost like having a super crispy taco with bigger pieces of meat in it. The meat wasn't as savory as I would've liked, but it was perfectly cooked, and overall it was better than a bland quesadilla. The fried aspect of it made it tasty enough to eat. The Agua Fresca, we ordered was a mixture of pineapple and some other items. It was OK, but definitely needed something more for the flavor profile. It was pretty much a weak tasting drink. It also was super expensive. Almost everyone else at the table ordered the Barbacoa and they enjoyed it. It's just not my jam. Again, it would have been if it was seasoned. This is definitely a neighborhood restaurant, and unless you know about it, it's probably not a place that most people would venture to. But if you're looking for an authentic experience, and a pretty decent deal, you definitely should try Lalo's. Remember, try the Cubana you won't be sorry!

Amazing food and service! Parking lot is quite small and there's some street parking. We always get the Al Pastor burrito and horchata, both are a must!

This place is my favorite for chilaquiles verdes. The coffee is delicious; everything is really good. I have never had a bad meal. I love how everyone is so nice and friendly. It's a small place, and sometimes you have to wait, but no longer than 10 minutes for a table, and it's so worth it. It's a family-owned restaurant, and they make you feel like one of their family members. Trust me, give this place a try, and I'm sure you will fall in love like I did.

Lalos! My friend recommended lalo's years ago but I haven't had a chance to come until recently. My boyfriend and I were craving Mexican food and we wanted to try out different places. The Mexican food scene here isn't great, so we usually go to Stockton for our cravings. Upon arrival, it's right next to an unassuming gas station and the area is a little rough. Don't be fooled though, great food is right through the door! Hands down, one of the best horchatas I have ever had. Good horchata is hard to come by, it's usually too grainy or watery or not creamy enough. Lalo's horchata is fan-freaking-tasting. It was so creamy and perfectly sweet. I could drink a liter of it. Also the price ?! Amazing. I would come here just for my horchata fix. Their al pasta quesadilla is delicious, the meat is seasoned perfectly with bits of pineapple. It goes so well with the cheese and grilled flour tortilla. I have also had their deep fried corn quesadilla but not nearly as good as their grilled flour quesadillas. Make sure to ask for their delicious salsa to go along with your food! Shoutout to their complimentary chips and beans. I dream of those refried beans, it's so flipping good. I can't wait to come back!

Food was great. We got barbacoa, consomé, chilaquiles, and quesadillas, all were tasty. Pineapple agua was also very good and the staff was very nice and checked on us multiple times.

Their food is very authentic, the fried quesadilla is bomb! My family loved their plates, my father in law loved the fact the meat was tender and not greasy, even the caldo (soup) was not greasy which surprised him, he really loved it. Their agua frescas are so delicious and the melon one definitely gives me flashbacks to my childhood, they make it perfect!! The service was really good, every time we go in they are super busy but they are pretty fast and they make sure to check up on you. It also has a homey feel to it, almost feels like you're at your grandmothers house for breakfast! This place is a must try!

Great place and full of flavor ! A small hole in the wall but worth visiting ! All the food was hot and fresh full of flavor ! The service was great and fast ! The ladies that work there are sweet and attentive ! I will be returning for more menu options ! Definitely great for family dinners and large group gatherings.

Hidden gem! Cheap, gives lots of food Enchiladas: a lil spicy, good even distribution of toppings. I like how its not overrun by rice. Beans look like canned refried beans but they aren't ! Tastes pretty good. They give you 4 large pieces. . Tacos: gave good amount of meat, very filling . Super Burrito el pastor: a lil spicy, very full burrito, well packed

Al pastor burrito with everything. The best!

Amazing food! One of the best in the whole Sacramento area. Their Al Pastor is divine, with tons of cilantro and pineapple! Service is fast and the staff is warm and welcoming. Spanish and English spoken. No outdoor seating, but inside is cozy and vibrant. Love Lalo's!

Food was average Mexican. Ordered the popular barbacoa and it was dry and plain. Definitely needed the dipping sauces it came with. You have to order tortilla too separately also. It was served on tin foil. And another tin foil came with onions and pickles. Kinda old. I mean they could have used the paper plates that we got to eat with? Not sure why this dish is so popular. Also got a wet burrito with carnitas. That was better but it had burnt crispy rice instead of white. Not sure if that was normal. Also tasted very grainy. But the seasoning and red sauce was good. Also got a deep fried chicken quesadilla. It was nicely flavored and crunchy with a loaded topping of lettuce. The service was horrible. Unfriendly middle age women that didn't seem to care to serve us. Brought our food out randomly so we ate one dish at a time. It was not busy. When i went to pay the old woman didn't speak English or knew our order and didn't have our order slip so i had to explain what we got. A second woman came to help but still couldn't figure it out. Our waitress finally came over and got the my ordered sorted and took my card to pay. When I got the receipt I realized I didn't have to sign or fill in for tip so I asked, "How do I tip?" Waitress said, "cash". I said i don't have cash, that's why I paid with a card. She got annoyed, threw her hands in the air and rolled her eyes. I just waked away. I did find two dollars in my wallet and left it even though even she was rude. Overall, food was fine. Not sure why the reviews are so high for this place. Must be an off day. Oh well. I won't be back.

Come on, you guys! Like really? I mean, I haven't even tried any of my other food, but literal first bite and it's thins (partial pineapple when there's already not that much on my torta)? Left a bad taste in my mouth!

There was no wait, and the high-top seating was surprisingly comfortable. Our server was welcoming and attentive, and the service was fast from start to finish. Between the great music and lively atmosphere, you can't help but want to dance while you eat! I ordered one of my favorites--the chicken sope. It was perfectly crispy on the outside while still soft and fluffy on the inside. The chicken was packed with flavor, and the rice and beans were just as delicious. The salsa that came with it was the perfect finishing touch, adding just the right amount of spice and an extra kick of flavor. My hubby ordered one of the carne asada dishes (so sorry, I forgot the name!). He said it was one of the best cuts of meat he's had at a Mexican restaurant in a long time--super tender, juicy, and full of flavor. We had such a fun night! I definitely recommend Rosa Madera--10/10 for a date night, girls' night, or any excuse to enjoy great food and an even better atmosphere.

I visited this past Saturday and it was quite busy inside like it always is. The restaurant is large enough to fit a lot of people, so finding a seat isn't an issue. To order, you line up in front of the register and wait until they call you. Once it was my turn, I ordered a Super Burrito with Al Pastor, which is my favorite protein choice there. Usually I order 2 tacos with my burrito but I was saving room for Korean bbq that day! The Super Burrito comes with your choice of meat, rice, beans, salsa, sour cream, guacamole, and cheese. I also ordered a medium pineapple agua fresca, which paired perfectly with my burrito. After ordering, you're handed a number to take to your table so the servers know where to bring your food. As I'm waiting for my food, I helped myself to the self-serve chip bar. The chip bar is my favorite thing about the restaurant besides the food and quick service. I always get loads of both the white and red pickled onions, and some salsa to go with my chips. They offer many sides to choose from so that anyone can customize their meal to their liking. The pickled onions have the perfect level spice and acidity to them which helps with cutting down the greasiness you may get from a burrito. I also like to snack on them for fun too! The food comes out extremely quickly. When I finished placing my order and brought my number to my table, I went to the self-serve bar right after to get some chips. Not even 2-3 minutes later, I came back to my table with my burrito already there! The burrito was absolutely delicious and piping hot. It's the perfect size for me and eating it with the pineapple agua fresca and some chips makes it a perfect meal! Coming to La Favorita Taqueria is always a treat and I appreciate the quick customer service, self-serve bar, and delicious food! I highly recommend the Al pastor as your protein choice and honestly you can't go wrong with anything on their menu!

They didn't just walk by like frazzled, hurried workers like most restaurants pushing through the crowds. They actually gave me a nice smile and said welcome, and then walked by. And then I got to the reception area found that there was already a pretty big crowd at around the 5:30 PM or so I guess a lot of early birds come to eat there on Sunday. The receptionist asked for how many and said you'd be like a 20 minute wait and there was chairs where people were waiting but it was only like a 15 minute wait. The server was fast with the chips and salsa and ice water and then soon the waiter came and took my order. He was really quick and witty, fun to talk to. What I really enjoyed was as the noise of the table Near quieted down and they left. I saw a young man cleaning up the table and getting it ready for the next group of people. He was dressed really nice and had a tie on. Having been in restaurants most of my life I said to myself, I bet you he works with the owners or something. And I said to him, are your related to people that own the place ? he said my parents own this place. He was very friendly and polite. He told me a tiny bit about the restaurant and how everything had been since 1970, much older than he was, he was only a sophomore in high school I think. I never really got his name, but I was kind of proud of him because he was working hard at his family's restaurant. I ordered probably something bigger than I could eat because I had to take leftovers home, but it was really a tasty meal, and they're coming out with more chips and salsa without being asked, probably didn't help as well as a second lemonade. It's really impressive when you have a well oiled machine and it appeared to me that the people that worked there seem to be happy so that's always a good sign of good management. Several years back, I worked in the restaurant industry doing maintenance and repairs so I went to a lot of different restaurants and saw a lot of things so I know what to look for. My friend ordered the steak ranchero dish and did not like it very much. It looked more like a stew. The ranchero sauce looked to be very watery.

They have a brunch menu but we both ended up ordering from the main menu. She had Camarones de Borrachos and I had La Torta Gorda Carnitas. Both were extremely flavorful. The Camarones was a new recipe apparently. More chipotle flavored with a slight kick. From the looks the shrimp were very plump. My Torta was great. Bread was nice and butter and the carnitas were magnificent as advertised by our friendly waiter, Dustin. I also had a Horchatalada which was a sweet way to wash down this heavy food. Great experience and i cant wait to come back and try something else.

Our server was clearly stretched thin and even mentioned needing to close out other tables. He stopped by once to offer a refill, but it never came. I understand busy nights happen, especially near Golden 1 Center, but the pacing and attention made us feel more like a transaction than a guest. If you're grabbing a quick bite before an event, the food will do the job. If you're looking for a relaxed, unhurried dinner, I'd look elsewhere.
