My husband and I have been here many times. Sitting outside next to the canal on a beautiful day is really the best part of this place. Our waiter was extremely nice and accommodating. I love margaritas, and I can be a bit danding with my preferences. I don't love them sweet and I prefer fresh lime. I ordered one and it was not my favorite so my waiter brought me another drink which turned out to be just right. The ambiance was perfect. They have great options for wine. Unfortunately, the food was..., OK. The fish tacos were a bit soggy. Main St in New Hope was closed by a gas leak so a firefighter suggested crossing the bridge to the Station. We were looking for drinks and some appetizers. We ordered the bread basket and the roasted Brussels sprouts and both were disappointing. The bread basket included an unimaginative soda bread and a dry, almost stale focaccia. Maybe I should've remembered Gordon Ramsay's third rule: never order a bread basket. The sprouts were very undercooked and we ended up not able to eat them. As humans, our we benefit in many cases from having our food exposed to fire to ease digestion. The kitchen apparently believes raw is the way to go, throwing out 100,000 years of experience. We came for the seasonal game menu it was pretty good. We try to come for this once a year and dine a few other times during the year. They have a full menu of non game choices if you would prefer that. The place was crowded but we had a 7pm reservation and were seated at 7:05pm. Ambiance is classic traditional pub with a nice restaurant. Many rooms and places to hang out if you are early or choose to linger after your meal. Chris our server was solicitous and helpful. We ordered drinks and then inspected the menu. Crispy, tasty bread was brought out. For cocktails we got a vodka martini and glass of merlot. The martini was fine, with three giant olives. We started with general tso's python and a dozen oysters. While the python dish was good we really could not taste the snake. It was a bit chewy, but not unpleasant. The oysters were excellent clean and delicious we got three of each on the menu. Mains were ostrich and kangaroo. Kangaroo was great, tender and moist, served rare, with potatoes & carrots. The ostrich was tough. It was served with potatoes and what tasted like cranberries. Good flavor but the ostrich meat was not so great. We shared our dishes. He was fantastic. Went there again 2 weeks later for my son's birthday. Once again the flavors were delicious, service was great and even noticed what a relaxing and pleasant atmosphere. This time the server was Cesar and he was just as great and attentive! What a pleasant surprise when he brought out chocolates with whipped cream after overhearing us talk about my son's birthday. Food was pretty good I had the Italian chicken sandwich ordered a side of two over easy eggs and they said they didn't do custom order, so they charged me for a 3 egg omelette meal which basically means I paid $12 for two over easy eggs and a few potatoes. We walked in at 12:30, not really too hungry but planning on munching on a few apps over a glass of wine. We left at 3:15. ...Not on purpose. Needless to say, we ended up eating lunch while we were there. Our visit was the epitome of "hey, I'm not in a rush to go anywhere or do anything." It's a good thing we had nowhere else to go, because everything took forever. Service speed aside, although this place is classified as a "pub" (which it is) - they have a lower level "wine cellar" area decked out with couches, chairs, low tables, and a dimly lit inviting atmosphere that you wouldn't really expect when you first walk in. We came in with friends from the area that knew of the cellar and we scored a set of 4 high-back comfortable chairs (think: Carter Pewterschmidt in his big red chair.) Wine: Reisling, Malbec. Both were the standalone choices of their variety, but were good. Food: It was small plates vs. lunch menu, and neither of them really won. On the lunch side, I had the Summer Chicken Salad. Dressing was good, and so was the chicken, as long as it had a lot of stuff with it in the same bite - otherwise a little bland. On the small plates side, we had the trio of bruschetta and one of the cheeses (not listed on the website menu,) it was truffle oil infused and came with honey on the side. Recommended. The toppings for the bruschetta came in cups and the bread was just...sliced. Not hot. Odd way to serve it, we wouldn't get it again. The rest of the menu looks promising, so despite the service on this visit, we will be back to try some more. read more

The Station House which is on the Jersey side of the Delaware River is my favorite place to come on a weekend especially on a Sunday. This place was a real train station dating back to 1867 including the railroad tracks next to the outdoor seating. The outdoor seating is open from ( March- November)There is seating all around the bar , and also inside... They have a great bar outside and John the bartender makes great drinks like Bloody Mary's and Mojito's. They have IPA's and craft beers too. I prefer to sit at the bar and grab a bite to eat...The people who come here are friendly and sociable. The dress code is somewhat casual but neat... The Station House is very dog friendly... U can see all different kinds of dogs dining with their owners... The food is delicious and the presentation is lovely... I love their burgers and salads. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu.. There is a large building in the back with plenty of parking if u want to have a wedding, party, or corporate event... U can take a short walk over the bridge and be in New Hope. In the summer u can see people hanging out in the river tubbing and having fun... This really is a great place and every time I come I meet new people... When you come be prepared to wait for a table. This is a very popular restaurant. I can't wait for my next visit! read more

I love love love this place. Cozy chairs and booths with silver serving trays and a roaring fire nearby? Perfect cozy and intimate spot for a fun date, for friends, or literally any cold night and and glass of wine. I've ordered wine by the class as well as flights, both are healthy pourings. Order a cheese plate (il truffilino = the best) to really up the experience. It's usually crowded and if you don't mind a wait, you can usually get a good spot. I've never ordered dinner here but I see some people do- it's a bit crowded with all the glasses and no real table- that would bother me. The wait was only half hour so we sat by the bar had some mimosas and Bloody Mary . The bartender was very accommodating and let us know we could sit at one of the tables . I ordered the crab cake with potatoes and veggies . It was a small crab cake for $17 but it was packed with crabmeat . I'm going back just for the crab cake oh and the bloody Mary's too! Cozy pub and festively decorated for the holidays, the GF and I stopped in for a drink and lite bite during a Sunday stroll around Lambertville. Though we couldn't get seats across from the fireplace, we opted to sit at one end of the ovular bar. I wasn't so thrilled with the stout I ordered, but my GF was fond of her wine flight (delivered in an artistic spiral wire contraption that holds three regular sizes glasses). Our flatbread was delish - the cranberries paired superb with the thick cut bacon and caramelized onions. Our service, however, was lacking. What a wonderful and romantic hideout a wine bar beneath a train station makes on a hot summer day. The Wine Cellar recently opened under the main pub, so walk right by the glassed-in restaurant and patio into another world, the darkened central area inside. You will descend zig-zagging Titanic-style small staircases into a heavenly underground of cushy chairs and sofas in a space with many intimate nooks, pillows, and a fireplace. It is both welcoming and sophisticated. There is no bar here technically but rather a counter in front of a huge stash of wine bottles, where the bartender pours. He'll bring the wine down to you. No one else will be able to find you. No texting! It looks expensive, but the owners have accomplished the task of creating offerings that are both adventuresome and affordable. The glasses start at $5, and many decent ones are $7, pretty amazing for this area that attracts New Yorkers used to Manhattan prices. I love when a wine list includes "unusual" selections, because I can get pretty comfortable with my typical choices (New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc? Oh not again). I need a nudge sometimes. I'd love to see them add a few dry rosés however. They have wine flights that start in the reasonable range and are quite creative. (I always feel guilty about dirtying all those extra glasses.) I liked the category of red Meritage blends too, since these are a favorite of mine. The young bartender recommended a Sicilian Viognier, and we also chose an Oregon Pinot Gris. Can't wait to go back to see what else ends up on the menu. A few things they could do would be to take the extraneous apostrophes off the menu (these just leap off the page and stab me in the eye; why can't I get over it?) and to throw down a little tapas like nuts or olives. They were advertising a Lavender Luncheon, which features a visit to lavender fields and includes a lunch infused with florals, really cool for people crazy for fragrance. read more

I must admit, I was suprised that the place lived above it's expectations. We were seated in the last table outside near a pathway. I felt we would be forgotten and it would get cold. I was right about the cold but service was good. They do have heating lamps but there were all being used...despite their being a long wait if we decided to dine inside, we were seated promptly. Starters: Rustic Flatbread - Smoky bacon, arugula, caramelized onion, dried cranberries and smoked mozzarella baked onto a crispy grilled flatbread crust- $10 - I would pass on this next time...it just didn't hit the spot. Calamari - Flash-fried and served with marinara and an Asian sauce for dipping- $12 - A good choice and you must sample the Asian sauce. It adds a unique taste. They weren't the best but everyone enjoyed them. Entree's: Pork Mignon - Prime Reserve center-cut pork loin, topped with apple barbecue and served with cheddar-chive grits- $23 - Cooked and seasoned perfectly. I did sample the: Crab Cakes - Chesapeake-style colossal lump crab cakes baked with Meyer lemon butter and served with rice and seasonal vegetables- $32. They were great! Definitely on my radar to order next time. 90% crab which is unheard of. Chicken Bruschetta - Romano cheese and herb-crusted chicken breast served atop baby spinach and fresh heirloom tomato salad with a balsamic reduction- $19. It was good but nothing earth shattering. Service was good. Prices are a little high. A draft beer is $7...sheesh. The Inn has the same menu FYI. ENJOY! read more

My husband and I had a mediocre experience here.... but it was Sunday afternoon, the place was packed, and I could tell our poor waiter was rushed and frazzled. First, we were offered a seat outside on the street, which I don't think I'd do again. Its more of a casual setting and you can people watch, but trying to eat your lunch off of a low table in wicker furniture is a bit awkward. We both had the turkey and brie panini, which was fantastic. Even the house chips were good. We got the hot apple cider for a beverage, and that was delicious too. However... that one cider took forever to come, as did our food. And we never got another drink. I could see the outdoor water/coffee cart sitting there only a few feet away, but our waiter never came back to refill our beverages or offer us anything else, nor did any of the other staff. Our waiter did apologize profusely and thanked us for our patience when he gave us our bill. I'm interested in giving this place another shot, or at least checking out the Sunday brunch at the Inn, which apparently has rave reviews. Local friends of ours recommended Lambertville Station and it didn't disappoint. We didn't need reservations; we were seated at a cozy table looking out the window with a dim light over our table to set the mood for an overall homey country like restaurant. Steven was our waiter and had some great suggestions and input on the menu items. We went with a flatbread which was excellent and beats salad. My wife and I shared both and were impressed with the combination of flavors these dishes packed. For entrees I had the Elk cooked to Medium Rare and my wife had the short ribs. Both exceeded my expectations and I couldn't let anything go back to the kitchen so we polished everything off. After our dinner and as we were finishing up our wine, Steven told us a seat opened up downstairs next to the fireplace and thought that maybe we'd want to have a night cap down there. He read his customers brilliantly because it was exactly what we needed, even if we didn't know the option existed. We then had Alan finish us up with an after dinner drink and dessert and just chatted fire side. All in all the restaurant was great, prices were fair given the quality of food and atmosphere, and we'd certainly return if we are ever in the area again. read more

I love Philadelphia and am very much a city girl, but this subterranean wine bar almost makes me want to switch teams. Came here with my mom, and it was love at first sight. Stone walls and arches. Brick floor. Wine glass chandeliers. Working fireplace. Plush chairs and banquettes. Hidden nooks. Walls of wine bottles. It's all very old-world and inviting. Wine prices are very reasonable, and many varieties are available by the half-bottle. They offer flights, which are also very reasonably priced, with many under or around $10. You get 3 wines, 2 oz. each (at least that's what the menu says; my mom, a former bartender, insists that they were much more generous with their pours. Bonus!). The flights are served in these neat wrought-iron, tree-like stands that I am (obviously) having difficulty describing, but I'm a fan. Each glass is on a different level that corresponds to its place on the little flight menu, so you can easily tell what's what. Mamma Mia got a flight of San Giovese, I went with Pinot Noir, and we were both very pleased with our selections (as well as the wine glass trees). The food menu consists of various cheese, charcuterie and tapas selections. We tried an Irish Porter Cheddar, which was delicious, but the real star for us was the truffle honey that came with our bread. Truffle honey! Where have you been all my life?! The bf and I spend the night in New Hope for a little R&R. We have been a few times to New Hope, but never went to Lambertville Station. We were not disappointed. We had already had appetizers elsewhere, so we only ordered wine and a main course. I ordered their house Pinot Grogio. It's made nearby in New Jersey and it was tasty. For entree's I ordered the Shrimp and Scallop served over Lobster Rissoto and he ordered the Antelope with vegi's and mashed potatoes. The lobster risotto was to die for. It was so buttery and the chunks of lobster were delicous. The antelope was cooked medium rare. The first piece was really thick and tough to cut through but it was tender and went well with the mash potatoes. The second piece was thinner and much easier to navigate with a knife. I would like to return next time and visit the Wine Cellar and try an appetizer or dessert. The ambiance was very romantic and very fitting for the occasion. read more

I am a current college Culinary Student, I have cooked around Princeton for 3 Years and I am a bartender in Princeton now, I have been bartending for 13 years off and on as well. I am not an expert but I do expect a certain level of service and quality of food. I assure you this place is pretty streamlinded and could use some improvements. Service didn't suck but the large outside bartender looked very disheveled and was a smart ass. My waiter was nice enough but didn't try to sell this menu to me and really couldnt desribe the Gazpacho well. I had the fish and chips and the breading was soggy and my fries were mushy. The Ahi tuna salad looked great. It was busy but. I would only go back if I was paying. Maybe I went at a bad time Sunday at 12 pm, but I expect a little more especially paying 5 bucks for a coors like a 7.50 for a Yards pay Pale. Save you money and find someplace better. read more

There's already a listing for the Lambertville Station Restaurant upstairs, but "The Station Pub" deserves its own listing, because (a) it has a completely different atmosphere/persona then the white-tablecloth restaurant upstairs, and (b) the reviews made upstairs therefore cannot be applied to the Pub. I went on a Wednesday night, and in the week I've been in L'ville, that was hands-down the best meal I had. (1) Wednesday/Thursday nights are their $14.95 Prime Rib special. The same meal order upstairs would be $24.95. I obviously ordered the prime rib, and it was de-licious (Medium-rare as medium-rare should be) (2) The service was outstanding. The bartender was very attentive and always made sure my beer mug AND water glasses were full (if that's what I wanted). (3) The salad I ordered (although small in quantity - again, same kitchen as the "classier" restaurant upstairs) was very tasty. I don't think I would ever go to The Lambertville Station Restaurant on the groud floor... but you'll definitely see me underground at The Station Pub again... especially on Wed/Thur Nights. read more

I'm not so much into the Lambertville bar scene. I would much rather go across the river and hang out in New Hope. But I ended up hanging out in Lambertville because of the Shadfest. We stopped in the Station Pub at night and the experience just reaffirmed my feelings for the place. The service is fine enough, and they actually make a fairly tasty margarita. But the crowd is just...... hmm. Not sure how to put it. Boring? And there was just an atrocious cover band playing. If I'm going to damage my hearing with loud music, it better be worthwhile. With so many options in the area, I'm not sure why anyone would bother going here for a drink. read more

This place is AMAZING. What a great restaurant. We came here while visiting from out of town. Originally were gonna go to Philly for the day but with the heat wave decided to stay close by and went to New Hope for the afternoon on an adult only trip. I am so glad I got to see both these towns parked on the new hope side and got to walk across the river to this place. It is very classy inside this place, i loved it. We were seated by the windows over looking the tracks and their garden growing by it. Very nice. We were very hungry by the time we got here. So when the coconut bread came it was quickly devoured. It was tasty, although a little to sweet for a dinner bread. Would love to have this as a coffee cake for breakfast. The menu was amazing, so many options. Local wines are served here too. I didn't feel like having wine with my lunch so I didn't order any, now i wish i would have. I originally felt like a salad but when i saw the steak toasts with mashed potatoes i knew i had to have it. My order- Top Sirloin Tournedos- toasted garlic bread, with the sirloin on top with Gorgonzola cheese and mashed potatoes. It was very good the steak was cooked really well. I do have to place in here that we did wait quite awhile for all of our dishes to come out from the kitchen. The waiter checked back and stated that he pushed the kitchen to make this dish so it was talking awhile longer- even though it was awhile to wait it was worth it. I just wish he would have came back to make sure we were OK with waiting before pushing the kitchen to make it. The others in my party ordered: 1) Turkey and Brie Sandwich- this had to be sent back to the kitchen to warm the brie all the way through. But this is a forgivable mistake. and another ordered the Chesapeake bay crab sandwich. Next time we come back to PA to visit family we are totally going to go on a date night here for dinner. As a former resident of Lambertville, I adored the wine cellar of the Lambertville Station. The comfortable armchairs near the fireplace were my refuge with a book, and the wait staff got to know me as the "endless cup of coffee," although I was also quite fond of their chocolate ports which I also occasionally treated myself to particularly if they had a cheese tray with truffle oil. My experiences at Lambertville Station have kept me aware of just how carefully the chefs plan and prepare dishes. When you leave the wine cellar and eat upstairs, the meals offered are all mouth-watering just to read about. Regulars like lobster bisque, are often presented to show you the quality of your meal (for example, witht he bisque you are presented with a bowl of lobster meat chunks which they then pour the rich creamy bisque over). One of my seasonal favorites is in the Winter when they have their wild game menu (things such as kangaroo, ostrich, and my personal favorite, elk, as well as other options are available). Last year I ordered elk medallions and they came glazed in a raspberry sauce with a side of veggies and it was so good that this year I was hoping to get the same thing. However, this year they changed things again so the elk came with a pear and mushroom sauce and a size of small red potatoes and it was equally delicious and enticing. The sushi chef who is occasionally there as well (I believe it's every Sunday and Thursday though you may want to call and check). As a sushi fanatic I'm extremely picky about the quality of the fish and this professional chef never disappoints. The prices may be a little high, but it is worth every dollar, and if you're visiting town, the fact that you can park in the lot ($10 up front) are reimbursed inside is always a bonus which allows you to leave your car there and explore town after your meal. read more

My wife and a friend, who was visiting from NYC, went shopping in Lambertville. They stopped at Lambertville Station for mid-afternoon coffee. Mid-week afternoon the place was empty. They decided to share a desert -- a $10 chocolate torte. The portion size was so small that it seemed like a joke; even the waitress was apologizing. They probably used fishing line or wire to cut it that thin...and even cut the single strawberry in half...how CHEAP! With tax tip, she was spent $20 for nothing. The Wine Cellar at the Lambertville station is always a great place for light food, great service and a nice wine selection. We always have fun when we go there and it has a totally different feel than the rest if the restaurant. The upstairs has a nice outdoor patio serving decent food, but the service is always lacking to say the least. I usually find the wait staff is unattentive bordering on rude... Like they are doing you a favor. Such a shame because it could be a great place to enjoy a friendly outdoor meal. read more

My fried oysters tasted like they had been frozen and dumped into a deep fat fryer. The breading on them was rubbery and tough and even difficult to cut. The fries were undercooked and soggy. The service here was excellent. The server we had was friendly, quirky and constantly made sure we had everything we needed. The food was great! This restaurant came with good recommendations from some of our friends. My wife and I were looking for a nice restaurant for our first date night in a long time after the birth of our first child. At the first glance, it looked promising, the building itself was unique and next to water. The lighting inside was just right. We were lead to a table that were tugged away on the second floor next to the bar with cushy chairs. After we sat down, that's when my opinion of this place changed. Our waiter Jason, (Not because he told me, I saw it on his name tag) took our drink order from the next table while cleaning wine glasses and he did not recite the special of the night. After we received our appetizer, we had to ask him for bread that he forgot to bring to our table. For our entrees, I ordered the pork mignon with the smokey peach glaze, my wife ordered the chilean sea bass over salad. My pork dish was tasty, but it was a bit dry. My wife's fish was under seasoned. Overall, I was a little disappointed with the service and the quality of food. We lived about 35 minutes away, and I can say that we won't be making a return trip back to the restaurant anytime soon. read more

The beer list is actually pretty good in that there were sufficient craft beers from local breweries on tap in order to satisfy. I was hanging out with a friend from LA who loves a local beer and this was a good place to get a flavor of what we have available here. The waiter was quite good. He was excited to share his beer knowledge and we had a lively conversation about local brews and breweries in the region. He was also very attentive.
