I chose WR to hike because I have a few friends that have come and speak highly of it. My expectations were surpassed! At the moment, there is construction at the end of School Road, don't miss the small cardboard sign saying "white rock" at the first exit in the round a bout. This is one of the most beautiful parks I've ever been to. I have so far done the 6 mile creek track, it's a pretty easy track but the most challenging part is the large stairs leading up to white rock, but you HAVE to do it. The first day, I didn't actually go to the top of the rock but today I did. I was blown away by the beauty. You are literally on top of the world. I've gone around 8am both days and have seen absolutely no other hikers each time except on my way back (around 930/10am). I would recommend this beautiful place to anyone!

Curtis Falls is located on Tamborine Mountain near the Gold Coast. The hike is well marked and…read morepretty easy. There are no steep inclines, the path is wide and well manicured, and it wasn't crowded on the day we went. It was a bit chilly since it was at a higher elevation and in June. It's about 0.5km from the trail head and there is a sign that points you in the right direction. From the same starting point, you can also walk to the various shops and cafes that are nearby. There's a moderately sized parking lot that also has a small turn around area if you're being dropped off. The waterfall is far from the most impressive I've seen, but it's a nice walk if you want to go somewhere relaxing. 4 stars.

They let my partner and I know there was a koala on the ground in front. I've never seen one in the wild before. It soon climbed a tree and my partner took photos and a video. We also saw several lizards, bush turkeys and an eagle. It was nice walking along the track and thankfully was well shaded as it was very sunny and warm. There were a few look outs that didn't disappoint. A free activity for everyone.

Tingalpa Creek track is a little known but beautiful walking track that passes through Ransome, on…read moreyour way out to the Bayside. There are two walking tracks,around 850m long, so a decent trek but manageable for most people. The area is usually really quiet, with only a few fisherman to keep you company. The track itself is a great walk. Surprisingly, there is a boardwalk for a section of the way. Some of the track winds around Tingalpa Creek, which is surprisingly wide and long for a creek. The trees block out the road noise and the peace and quiet means you can hear a whole range of birds and local wildlife on your walk. The area is fairly popular with fisherman, especially on the weekend. The section of the track that is closet to Rickertt Road has a jetty, type platform structure for fishing off plus there are a few wooden carved picnic tables under a shaded area. Perfect for a quiet afternoon on the weekend.

Various trails were well maintained - not a shred of trash anywhere. We walked to the Quarry (about 2km) with the 3 kids, a friend, and a dog. A few short steeper places but nothing too traumatic. There were a number of dogs out - all leashed until we got to the Quarry and then a few were off leash but generally well behaved. A number of people also biked and the trails were wide enough to accommodate families and bikers comfortably with some awareness. We chose not to swim but watched some cliff jumping with a lot of awe from our kids.

I remember waiting patiently for more…read morethan 3 years to take a long awaited pilgrimage along the iconic Mt Warning (Wollimbin) summit trail. I really felt drawn to the stories and energy of the land up there so eagerly awaited its reopening so I could finally make my journey respectfully and connect with this great land we call home. In fact many, if not all my friends that have made this journey have done it for their own personal reasons. I have heard stories that the even the original indigenous people of the area used to make this journey as a right of passage of sorts. So I guess it makes sense that in the modern age so many people are naturally drawn to take this walk for their own personal reasons. It seems however we have all now been locked out permanently! First they said it was because of Corona, then they said it was because of safety concerns ... but they were covering something up and I'm still yet to hear directly what the reasoning is behind it's permanent closure. Please sign the partition to re-open Mt Wollumbin and share your stories of why this climb was so significant to you. Take action and let's see if we can have this iconic walk re opened. TY

Loved this hike. I've hiked a lot and this trail is moderately hard. The rock scramble is by far…read morethe coolest part of the hike. It's not technical but I recommend taking your time and go at a pace comfortable for you. The hike took us about 5 hours with multiple stops. We could have done it in about 3.5-4 hours if we didn't stop as much. Not a lot of views until you're almost to the top. Only negative: be aware of poisonous creatures along the way. Aka: don't touch anything. We did see a small black red bellied snake on the ride of the trail and stayed far away from it. Highly poisonous. Plan to hike it on a clear day so you get 360 degree views. We only had one day in our schedules for it and it was quite cloudy. We did wait for the clouds to break and were able to see all the way to Byron Bay. If you're using a GPS, the address for the hike is about 3-4 miles short. You will need to continue up the winding road to where it dead ends to start the hike. Epic hike. I'd recommend adding it to your travel plans if you're in the area.

My partner and I went up there with the intention of doing a "decent" walk and that we did. Arriving at The Gantry, a picnic area and start/finish point for several walks, we took the Somerset trail, a 13km loop passing a lookout point for views of the Somerset and Wivenhoe Dams. The views were beautiful, but walking amongst all the tall old trees swaying in the wind was just as good. The website says to allow 4 hours and this was pretty accurate. We were walking quite briskly and didn't stop to eat, so we managed it in three and a half hours. This walk was a "Level 4" with some steep, gravelly inclines and declines. Less fit or less adventurous walkers could try one of the lower level walks. Next time I'd like to check out the water falls. Getting out of Brisbane and up to Mt Mee, be sure to take the route that passes through Dayboro. There are some beautiful stretches of road where you can see all the way out to the ocean. If looking for somewhere to eat on the way home, Dayboro Bakery does a mean pie and the town itself is really cute. A great day trip from Brisbane.

We took a trip into the hinterland from the coast for a…read morefew hours and did the MacDonald Rainforest Circuit and the Cedar Creek Falls walks - both were quite easy going, taking us through rainforest brimming with nature and to scenic waterfalls and rock pools you can swim in (and which a few plucky souls were leaping into). Was less impressed with Gallery Walk, a street of cafes and shops atop the mountain said to be a must-see attraction. I just found it odd and a bit of a tourist trap, I'd give this a miss if you're not really into shopping for nick nacks or cuckoo clocks and use your time to do some more exploring. I did taste some nice flavoured fudge though!

It's a rainforesty area where you'll find swimming holes, water falls and spectacular views of the Logan Valley. I took a drive up there recently and really just went exploring without too much direction. There are plenty of places to eat, but my friend and I decided to stop for lunch at a restaurant/hotel called St Bernard's, drawn in by a huge model of a St Bernard. For those more active people, cycling up Mt Tamborine seems to be popular and there are also other sports on offer such as hang gliding. This is a great, easily do-able little escape from Brisbane. O'Reilly's Rainforest Retreat is the private business inside the National Park, making it open to…read moreall. You can park at the end of the winding road and explore all the natural wonders. There's a tree top walk nature walk to see local trees and birds. It ends with a loop of bridges that go up, with a lookout two ladders up looking over the valley below. The park is much larger than we could see on our visit. It's a gorgeous area high in the mountains and much cooler than the coast a few hours away. If you're into natural wonders, this is a must visit park near Brisbane.

Beautiful nature reserve tucked in Boronia Heights. The picnic area is quite sparse with only a few…read morecovered tables and wood fire BBQs. There is a public toilet and small playground for the kids. Winding away from the sizeable carpark are several paved walking tracks. Stay nice and quiet on your hike and you'll find out why this reserve is so special. Kangaroos, koalas, kookaburras, brightly coloured parrots and lots of other bird life are ever present. I've never visited Boronia Bushland Reserve without coming across the huge mob of kangaroos that live in the area. Sometimes they come right out into the playground area to munch on the grass.
