I went into the Lamps Plus in Chandler several times shopping for the perfect ceiling fan for my new home. Each time I was greeted with a friendly smile and a warm "How can we help?" I was struggling for sure and didn't have great info on height...(17ft) or room dimensions but they pressed on and I took a few pics home. Went back to see it again and then found the same fan in silver and black on sale. My original choice was the 60" Possini Defender in black and gold. Carlos worked with me and finally, I went with his suggestion and I'm so glad I did! It's gorgeous in my home and makes the statement I had hoped for. I bought 2 mirrored nightstands for my bedroom & BAYLEE W. in the the Chandler store was AMAZING. I met her in store to look at the items. She was pleasant, helpful and professional. Then one of the nightstands came in chipped as Fed Ex delivered the box backwards.... see photo, as they came in separate deliveries. I called Baylee and she was right on it. She even offered to see what she could to do to pick up the item for me as I was having a problem getting the broken item back to the store. That is amazing customer service. Then the item became back-ordered and I had to wait for a new shipment. Then the nightstand came back into stock & she did everything to make sure I received it timely. Stopped in here on a whim the other day while at the T-Mobile near by. We definitely need a new fan for our bedroom before summer and decided to take a look. The staff from the start was SO welcoming and helpful, answering our million questions (new home owners, new fan buyers) and the one ASM, Jacob, was especially patient with my lack of knowledge and helped us pick out a fan that a) looks great and b) is quiet! Drove over to Chandler's Lamps Plus to check out chandeliers for our home. Purchased one years ago there and wanted to see what their selection was. As we walked in, Steven Ford greeted us at the door. He listened to what we wanted and pointed us in the right direction. He was helpful, friendly and knowledgeable about their inventory. I was in the Chandler, AZ location and placed an order for exterior wall lights. When they rang me up, my card was charged twice - for my order, as well as for someone else's order. I noticed the double charge the next day and called the store - spoke to Marcos, who stated that "he didn't see anything wrong" and that he couldn't process a refund. He was rather rude and didn't apologize just said basically I was wrong. Then, he called me back, admitting that he saw they did in fact double charge me - but he still never apologized, just said "to make it clear, I see what you're saying." He said because it was a Sunday, there wasn't anything he could do to refund my order (fishy excuse). He then said that all items had shipped already, so the stuff I originally intended to order, as well as someone else's stuff I didn't even order to begin with. I'll be taking the items back to the store and I've already contacted community@lampsplus.com asking for a full refund. But if I don't receive the other cusotmer's order, how will Lamps Plus know??? And how do you charge someone's card twice for someone else's order, and then not even apologize? How many times has this happened before? Very poor customer service and I will never return. Pros: They price match, yay. Cons: The assistant manger is a younger dude in his twenties. He SCREAMED at my kid when he almost knocked over a lamp. Mind you, he is four. And, we were at the register, spending over 1k on outdoor lights. The woman helping us was lovely, but the assistant manager has NO business being in a position of power, beyond a lack of maturity. AND they couldn't find him to get his "special code" to be able to get the discount/price match. Turns out, he was sitting in his car in the parking lot, having "personal issues". Summary: manager needs to treat employees better. I usually have much better results buying online as the help in this store is usually rude, but the item that arrived was not what I purchased. I returned the errant item at the store on 9/25 (the store was not busy, only two other customers in the entire store), and the person (name started with and I), who the manager (Juan) brusquely directed to help me, was very helpful. He processed my item, and then helped me review bulbs for four other fixtures that I had purchased online and were sitting at hime. Showed me various styles and wattages, and even put candidate bulbs into the floor samples for me. Ten minutes later the manager came by and commandeered our trial asserting that "I AM A LIGHTING DESIGNER" when I spoke to the person helping me, and wasn't speaking to him. Manager was pretty rude and insulting, not just to me, but to the other employee. If they work on commission, the manager stole that, as I would have given it to the pleasant guy who actually helped me for the majority of my time there. We recently bought new lights for both of our bathrooms. We tried several styles at home and then returned the ones we didn't want. There was no hassle whatsoever with our several purchases and returns. We finally made our selections and purchased the lights. A little over a month later we received a sales brochure in the mail. There was our light fixture on sale for $95 leas than our purchase price. And we had bought two. So we would receive a discount of almost $200. I brought the brochure and receipt to the store prepared for a hard time with the amount of discount I would receive. I like this place. My girlfriend and I had been meaning to check this place out forever and finally got the chance to do so. Talk about selection! We wandered around for a little while just taking it all in. The lady that helped us (I think her name was Darcy) was delightful. She explained how everything worked and that they had an even bigger selection online. They can print out pictures of anything they have so you can take it home and think about it. I also like the fact that they have a 60 day return policy with no restocking fees. We found a couple pieces that we were interested in but we are in the information gathering stages as we aren't at the point of making the changes we want yet. I will definitely say that I was impressed and will keep this place as a contender for future purchases. It may be a little pricier but the selection is great. In SEP18, I bought a fixture to install above my kitchen island to add some much needed light. It was a floor model because it's the only light I liked and they only had the floor model available. It took me a few months to have it installed as remodels are a slow process. It worked wonderfully for about 2mos then started to flicker. I assumed it was an electrical problem since the electrician had just added an LED dimmer. The electrician tried it in numerous outlets and the problem was actually the fixture (blown transformer). I took it back to Lamps Plus, explaining the situation and was hoping for a credit towards a new fixture since I had to buy the floor model. They told me there are 1yr warranties on floor models and they would replace/exchange the fixture since it is available again. I can't wait to install the new one! read more

I work for a lighting design company and called about lights & arrival times because the needed to be ordered, needed the lights ASAP. Girl at the store said X-amount of shopping days, call the homeowner to make sure that was OK before I placed my order because we needed them at a certain time. Got one of the five lights at the end of their shipping window. Still waiting on 4 more and I'm now 3 to 4 days past when I told my client. Called up there yesterday left a message for a callback with the girl I worked with wondering where my stuff was that I spent a lot of money on and she didn't bother calling back. My fave part of this company The customer service, i'm not even sure if the employees know where they work I had one decent person there and then when my very expensive order was failing to show up on time she was nowhere to be found. Our company remodels dozens of homes and we do a ton of work in the lighting design and there are dozens of other places in the valley to find lighting and I will be going that route, I'd rather go to 12 other stores then deal with this one read more

I bought an expensive computer lamp a few (12) years ago while living in Spokane, WA. The bulbs for it for it are fairly expensive. I replaced the first one while living in Portland OR. That was about 6 years ago. I replaced the second one in February of last year and I found one at Lamps Plus on 54th. It was expensive, but not as expensive as the one that I bought while living in Portland. I needed to replace another one here the other day, found my receipt of where I'd bought it and went to get another one. I had the receipt in my OneNote note book and showed that to the clerk so he could get the part number. He looked at the receipt and said... Hmm looks like its still under the 1 year guarantee.... I tried to explain that that wasn't the case, but he wasn't having any part of that! I walked out with a free light bulb. Does it get any better than that? read more

I haven't been in one of these stores for sometime. I guess I had forgotten that "plus" meant furniture and accessories. I was pleasantly surprised, they had some really nice things and apparently more online. As I began to wonder, I was greeted by Darcy, a lighting consultant. She was friendly, honest and literally spoke about lighting as comfortable and natural as breathing. It was so refreshing to work with someone so pleasant and knowledgeable! I was very impressed and shared my feelings with her boss. I am moving into a new place and am definitely considering having Darcy come out. I normally make my selections on my own and wing it but this woman was awesome and so helpful, I feel confident she will be a huge help to me with making the right choices in regards to size and height. I like the selection and the pricing. It is easier to get help here than the big box stores. It is hard to tell what a good deal is but they can guide you into a good selection. Having a ceiling fan on at night is a great help for sleeping in the warm summer months. read more

I arrived at 7pm to choose a chandelier, the store was open til 8. the store was understaffed. I waited on line around 7:40 to receive help in making a decision and after 10 minutes of waiting was told the store was closing at 8pm. The sales person was clearly not in the mood to help me or the others who were waiting at the counter for help. I purchased a mirror from this location in mid-February. The mirror was a "close out" item as it had 2 small areas of tarnish. As I didnt mind the areas of tarnish, I opted to purchase the mirror to capitalize on the deal. The mirror was taken to the back and wrapped by a stock associate. He assisted us with placing the mirror flat in the back of my SUV. I drove 4 miles to my home and moved the mirror to a guest room where it was placed, fully wrapped, flat on a queen bed and the door was closed. I unwrapped the mirror approximately 2 weeks later to find that it had a large crack in it. Once the crack was noted, I did not unwrap it further. I brought the mirror back the store with my receipt and explained the situation to the shift/floor manager. She informed me that she could not exchange the item as I consented to buy the mirror "as is" per close out pricing. We informed her that we inspected the mirror thoroughly prior to purchase and there was no crack present. She offered to exchange the mirror but we would have to pay the difference between "close out" price and price of a new mirror. We asked to speak with her manager who was not available. She provided us with cards for assistant manager (available next day) and general manager (available in 2 days). We called and spoke with Brandon, assistant manager, the next day to discuss situation. When explaining the situation, Brandon stated "it must've cracked in your car". We informed him that is also a chance that the mirror could've cracked during the wrapping process. He offered to ask the stock associate if he caused the crack. I think everyone knows what that response would be. We explained that we would like to have the defective mirror replaced. He offered up the same deal as the aforementioned floor manager and offered to return the mirror. I placed call to the Corporate Center in California and requested to speak to a regional manager. I was informed that I could speak to an area distributor, but they do not oversee local store management. We made decision to return the mirror and we were given a full refund. While I understand the implications of purchasing a close out item, there were no cracks present during time of purchase. Somewhere during the wrapping and loading process, a crack occurred. While I know there is no way to prove who or what caused this, Lamps Plus should stand by their product. Additionally, they should respect their customers when an issue requires resolution. Asking for a replacement product does not seem like an irrational request - regardless of pricing. What happened to good customer service and "the customer is always right". I would recommend buying items from big box stores (aka Home Depot or Lowe's). It's very unfortunate that a small store/company does not believe in good customer service to make customers want to return. read more
