I arrived early; there was plenty of free parking. Receptionist was courteous and ask what I was there for. Then the student came to get me. The student made comfortable by asking my name and introducing herself. She asked what I wanted done, showed me colors then she went to work. When it was done; I didn't get the color that I wanted and the haircut. I was a little bit disappointing but for the amount I paid, I guess that's what you get for. And the student needs to learn a lot as well even though she's almost finished. The place needs a lot of revamps, make it more welcoming and stylish especially the area where they wash the hair; uncomfortable and outdated. Still, if you're on a budget and don't mind being part of the learning process, this is a reasonable option. read more

Reservations here help a lot. As seniors it saves my husband and I quite a bit of money on our haircuts. It is only $8.00 for a haircut and while the haircut is done by a student there is always supervision by a teacher. My haircuts have always been good although they take longer than at a salon. There are lots of you adult students that have yet to learn all the niceties they will learn in a salon - such as holding conversations with each other over the heads of the customers. read more

Needs a better location. (Not trying to be rude just real on my experience) a very foul smell from a homeless person was by the doors asking for money on my admission day appointment, the admission advisor wasn't there and when he was he was juggling other clients at the same time and made me feel alone...and inside the admission office there were flies. The building looks depressing and scary like it needs a paint job. It looks like a zero effort school and the students look miserable and bored. read more

Easiest haircut possible, I asked for it to be lined up in the back was literally the opposite. It looked like mountains. If that wasn't passive aggressive, ig she's not competent to cut hair, I had to ask to see the back and she got upset and said I have to hold the mirror up and do it because she's sick of holding it up for people, then she had to ask the barber next to us if it was straight enough, five times ,she got mad when I noticed an had to fix it there was still a bunch of little hairs popping out everywhere ppl have serious things going on in life and someone like this barber can really trigger somebody not realizing how serious it can get I hope she cleans herself up or gets cleaned out very soon. read more

Went here for an edge up and they ended up touching the op of my head. I forgave them and told them to just run a 3 on my head and I'll just regrow it. The issue came with Ruben the instructor, he gave attitude non stop. Acted like I was a complainer and claimed my style request was not possible (as I've done this many times). Lastly he smelled so bad and kept his attitude even tho I told him it's ok. Never returning here. They offer no refunds even if they are at fault. read more

I recently got a full set and the "new" product they are using is crap!!!!! The student has been doing nails for a long time that's why I requested her. She agreed with me that the product is no good. The acrylic would not dry. It usually takes minutes to dry this crap took almost an hr to dry and when she was filing them my thumb nail got a big hole so she had to do that nail all over. I told the instructor I'm not happy with their "new" product she did nothing. I got the full set Tuesday sept 20,22 and today sept 26,22 3 nails broke off I am not going back there ever again read more

If you are thinking about going to this school. Don't. I promise you I am trying to save you from the scum of the main office staff who just want your money. They are always coming up short on supplies for the students. They recently just added locks to all the doors and they refuse to leave them open during ours for clients. So if you're a client hopefully someone will be able to open the door for you otherwise you'll be stuck waiting outside. If you want to be a barber or a nail tech here, good luck. Because they don't have a teacher and if they get one they'll just end up quitting once they notice the bs. If you want to be a Cosmo they will only let you or teach you about haircutting. If you want to be an esthetician the office staff will not let you practice on each other and they expect you to be their receptionist for free instead of learning what you came to learn. Ms.D is always giving the students an attitude and trying to grab money from you and mr.j will talk to you like you're dumb. The school also doesn't have eyelash extensions as a service, yet they don't want the students to practice them on each other, but somehow it's ok for an office staff to ask a certified lash tech for eyelashes FOR FREE. I wish I could give 0 stars but I can't so ig the one star can go to the amazing teacher they have for the cosmetology students and the esthetician students. Other than them, it's not worth it to go here. They will make you pay a lot of money just for them to not buy products for the clients that have appointments or even have wifi for you to do your work. I decided to try this place for a couple reasons. I was interested in possibly going to this school. I had my nails filled and I was very disappointed. I understand these are new students but the Teacher should be walking around paying attention to the students when they are doing nails. Teacher should give guidance. The student doing my nails was doing her best but if the Teacher was helping her, I think the results could have been better. It was my first time and I will not return. From a student Pov. do not come here. they do not have the staff to support the students. Yet they keep enrolling new students. And they do not go over the financial aid, so you think you're not gonna owe anything, yet once it comes time for their money, they'll bring you back and demand it. The school needs revamping, it has gone downhill and I don't understand how staff can work here knowing they aren't providing any type of education for it's students. Speaking of which they don't even have teachers for some programs... they make things up as they go, anything they can do to get more money. So grateful to have Dalia as an instructor, she has cut out days working in her salon to be here with us cosmos. Dalia never lets us just "figure it out", she is always there to help when we need it & believing in us always. I would love to point out Dalia being a licensed cosmetologist for almost 10 years now. Also thanking Ms. Theresa for coming in, taking time out of her days and being the best nail instructor, really letting us all bring out our creativity in doing nails! Came in on 03/01/2017 For a wash and blow-out. This would be the first time getting my hair blown out by a practicing hairstylist so I was curious to see the results as I also suffer from extreme shrinkage of my actual hair length and have never seen it when exhaustively stretched. I was assigned Fahima and she did a phenomenal job both washing and blowing out my hair. I've had service done on my hair here before and my prior experiences were also agreeable but I never documented the name(s) of the hairstylist and barbers who provided me with service so if the job was well done again today I wanted to make sure to document the hairstylist, review them, and have a follow up with them and so I will be doing so with Fahima. read more

Savanah is a sweet girl who is close to graduating she took her time and listening to what I wanted my nails look super good! Prices are crazy good! I cannot believe this is what they have as front desk material when I worked in customer service jobs I provided my full attention and gave my friendliest customer service because that is what im being paid for!!! Even if i got attitude I still was nice and pleasent unlike the workers here! I am offended and hope they get a better attitude or new workers. This is the biggest waste of money do not enroll in this school there isn't enough teachers, extremely unprofessional, filthy and outdated. I would never recommend going here to anyone. They don't give you enough time or preparation before throwing you on the floor to take clients. The receptionist picks and chooses which students she wants to have upfront with her so there is favoritism and drama it's like a ghetto high school if I'm being honest and I've never felt so energy drained from a 5 hour day. It took over 2 weeks for me to get my whole kit so I didn't even have what I needed and had to borrow other people's things to provide services at school. It looks like it hasn't been cleaned in years and I've never seen a cleaning crew. I've gone to the owner about issues I was having and he completely ignored me and made things worse. All the office cares about is getting money which is why they charge you by the minute for absent hours and change your contract 5 times before giving it to you after asking multiple times. Worst school ever do not attend or even go in and waste your money. This place should be shut down like yesterday. They are told to work on broken machinery, a gas leak happened a while back which is not safe at all to bring students, faculty or customers inside . with all the money students and customers pay this school is not well kept at all and should have the health department and higher educational board see things through with an extreme makeover or shutdown. The students that are helping the office staff are taking advantage of their positions so when they get upset with other students whom they have relations with outside of school they are messing with their time card and attendance. If I could give negative stars I would. I was told walk ins only on Saturday's for nails. I get there at 8:15 am a clear 15 minutes prior to opening time and the female manager claimed there was no room available today for my 11 year old and her 12 year old friend. I said well how the hell did all these people get appointments when I was told Saturday's are walk ins only. She continued to give me attitude even after I paid. And was like we aren't responsible if they fall off? I'm like are you responsible if they fall off adults??? Then they take both girls back. They told me I couldn't sit back there with them. I'm like I'm their guardian. So I said short nails and light pink. I walked back after 4 and a half freaking hours later. The nails were like claws so long and she's like oh the longer the nail the stronger it will be. I'm like I'm the mom and that's not what I asked for. The nails are lumpy and cricked. I'm absolutely disgusted. I took her to a real salon for the to file them down and cut them. The new nail tech said they used MMA in the acrylic and that's against cosmetology standards. The lady who charges me 23 bucks for my mid back length hair service tried to charge my daughter who has shoulder length hair 30 bucks. The price chart says 19 bucks nowhere does it says and up. If it.s 10 bucks extra for length what is 19 bucks a pixie cut smh make it make sense. I will not be back customer service is horrible. I can go to a experienced regular salon and get a press and curl for 25 and they as a unexperienced school wanna charge regular salon prices so the "teachers" can pocket the money smh ridiculous. I schedule an appointment 3 weeks ago for a spa manicure and spa pedicure, my appointment was for 10:00 a.m. I arrived at 9:45, waited in line until 10:20, only to be told that there was nobody there that had time to perform both services. I asked if one person could do the manicure and someone else could do the pedicure after and I was told no. They asked if I wanted just one of the services so I agreed to the spa pedicure. After waiting another 15 minutes I was approached by the student and told they weren't going to have time to do it because they took a personal appointment for somebody else at the same time. When I went back to the counter and asked why they scheduled an appointment if no one can do it? The response I was given was they do not know which students will be here on what day. What kind of school does not know when their students attend? After being at the location for over an hour I was informed nobody was able to perform my services. My bangs ended up very uneven and I had to go somewhere else to get them fixed up. She was also chatting the entire time with a friend that didn't even seem to work there. I like this place because it's good for the price. Obviously this is a beauty school, so you know going into it that these are not licensed people. The prices are very cheap. $3 for a hair cut. I've gone here for haircuts, manicures, and pedicures. My haircuts have always been fine, but I am not picky and I usually don't care how my hair turns out afterwards. One time I had my hair dyed here and they missed a spot, but that was years ago. Their manicures and pedicures have always been fine. I really like the personalities of the women going to school here. They do speak English. I like that afterwards I've never been rushed to get out, or go wait up front so they could take another customer. It's really nice to be able to stay in the same spot until my nails dry. I hate trying to be careful on my way up front just so I can wait 15 minutes to dry. A lot of the girls will sit and chat with me until my nails are dry. They've always done a decent job on my nails, but I've never gotten acrylics or gels. The best manicure I've ever had was here by a woman named Marlayna (not sure how to spell it). I've never been able to find her since. If you happen to know where she's working, or if you are Marlayna please let me know I would LOVE to be your customer. Sometimes the wait is long, but usually they will be honest and tell you politely that it's an hour or more wait. They usually take their time so this is not the place to go if you want your nails done fast. There is always someone at the front desk. The decor is old, so is the school. They usually have price lists up front. The parking is a little tight but I've always been able to find a space. I used cash, I'm not sure if they take cards. I think they are closed Monday, maybe Sunday also for student class time. So if you want cheap, and are not picky this is great. If you want something specific by all means skip this place. read more
