While they advertise themselves as a full Islamic school, the reality is very different. The school is far too expensive for what it actually offers. In the middle school and high school buildings, the only subjects that seem to be taken seriously are Arabic and math. In Quran class, students are simply handed a Quran and are expected to already know how to read and memorize it, with little to no proper instruction or support. New students are not treated well, and there is little effort made to help them adjust or feel welcomed. This is not the Islamic learning environment they promote. Everything costs extra, the expectations are unreasonable, and the overall atmosphere can be emotionally draining. In general, the middle and high school environment can completely destroy a child's motivation and love for learning. It is not a healthy place for students during such important developmental years. That being said, the elementary school is a completely different story. The elementary program is actually excellent. They teach Quran reading properly, Arabic writing, and Islamic studies in a structured and supportive way. The environment is kind, safe, and nurturing, which is exactly what young children need. Teachers are more patient, and students are encouraged rather than pressured. I would strongly recommend this school only for elementary-aged children. However, the same recommendation does not apply to the middle or high school. Parents should seriously reconsider enrolling their older children here, as the quality of education and student care drops significantly after elementary school.

Full time day care was a huge adjustment and they made it seamless for us. While everyone is awesome, the people I have most closely interacted with are Miss Meghan, Miss Liza, and Ms. Nikki (the center director)... they are rockstars! They are all very attentive, approachable and have taken excellent care of my son. My son has not only developed cognitively, but he improved in his socialization and simple "life skills." They engage the parents by having open houses, take home dinners, and other events centered around family. Also if you need extended hours there are one the few (and I MEAN FEW) centers that offer late hours and Saturdays. I highly recommend the center to anyone looking for a nurturing, safe, and educational environment!

Unfortunately, they are not equipped to properly teach children with dyslexia. This resulted in our son being frustrated and thinking he was stupid. Since going to Marburn, his attitude towards school has completely turned around. He no longer dreads going and is excited to learn. We are fortunate that he is able to go there. A previous commenter, Vanessa B., mentioned that "admissions qualifications are as stringent as being accepted into an Ivy League University." I'm not sure what exactly their requirements are, but there's only room for around 300 students. Each individual class has 17 students and two teachers. Just taking that into account, there's going to be a bit of selectivity assuming that there is room available. Before they admit anyone, the child needs to spend a day at the school and sit in the class. If your child is not immediately admitted, please don't give up. I've heard it may take a couple of years to get in. We got lucky because there was an opening when we applied. Columbus is lucky to have Marburn. We were met in public school with multiple obstacles including unbelievably that public school teachers were not required any special training for learning disabilities. The pain we all went through included student and parent shaming amd other atrocities. Thankfully another parent recommended MARBURN ACADEMY.
