Great town to visit for a peaceful weekend getaway. Character abound, interesting architecture, buildings and alleys to explore in the cute little town of Lancaster. Many little art galleries with "First Friday's" where crowds gather and walk the streets to see the open galleries, live music- I want to experience this next visit. A couple restaurant/ bars with a little of everything for everyone, including live music and rooftops. Outside the center of town there are beautiful fields, landscapes, farms and Amish in horse drawn carriages along the roadsides. Villages and tours of Amish country. A little further out and in neighboring towns there are Markets, a winery, a fabulous orchard to pick fresh produce and areas to hike and canoe. If that isn't enough for a vacation - travel a little further for Hershey park and museum and the Capitol building in Harrisburg. Highly recommend for a little getaway. read more
