Our assigned time was 2 PM so we arrived 10 minutes prior and began the lineup process. If you've never toured this theater, I would highly recommend you do so. It is absolutely stunning, so many ornate details to see. We were taken into several different areas of the theater, including the main grand entrance, the theater itself where we were able to sit in one of the box seating and the French styled room where the upper level patrons rest during intermission. Not only did she cover the history, but she also covered many stories of some of their famous attendees, where people sit, including the widows area back in the day where widows couldn't be seen at social functions It's definitely worth your time!

They sell 50 minute tours of the place in English, Spanish, or Portuguese for about $20 (Spanish tours are more frequent though and occur every 15 minutes). This opera house is over 100 years old and reminded me of the old buildings you'd see all over Italy. Due to its classic look, it is definitely a very lavish looking building and is more extravagant looking than the Metropolitan Opera House in New York City.

This place is very authentic and in a very small environment where no matter where you sit, you are in the front row. There's only about 20 seats. You really feel like you're part of the show. They offer an absolutely delicious meal that includes cocktails and or wine. They also will pick you up and drop you off where you need to be. All in all this is the best tango show in Argentina. We spoke with many other tourists who watched other tango shows and when we compared notes, hands-down this was the place to be. I would highly recommend this tango show as they treat you like a person and not just a number. Also, the same people who are in the show will give you a tango lesson and interact with you at the end. Everybody is top notch, professional and extremely friendly.
