The rooms were well-maintained and everything from the bed to the bathroom was pristine. One aspect that really impressed me was the front desk staff. They arranged castle tour tickets for us. Just ask at check in and they will have them for you the next morning. As for transportation, getting to the castle was easy. Either walk, take the bus, or a horse and carriage ride. Just a heads-up, the horse and carriage only accepts cash. Unfortunately, the hotel's ATM was out of order during our stay, but there was one located close to the ticket booth. Also, I recommend making the short drive to Füssen. It's a charming spot with little shops, good food, and great views of the mountains. Pro tip: take a pretzel from breakfast and enjoy it with a view of the castle

You won't find a more convenient location than this. Close to the Germany-Austria border. Actually, you can get to 2 different countries from here in less than a 2-hour drive: Lichtenstein and Austria (Innsbruck). The room is pretty basic and outdated but what you're paying for is the convenience and the location. The same thing can be said about the bathroom. It is tiled but at least it's spacious and has everything you need. You're paying about $150/ night. You can take a day trip many different places from here. You can get to Oberammergau in an hour by car. You can rent a boat at Alpsee. Aside from the great location, they have a restaurant that has good food and lots of delicious cakes and desserts. The restaurant has a nice view of Hohenschwangau Castle. There's not a lot of restaurants in the area.

Sept. 24 and Check-out was Di. 17. Sept. 24. It stated that it was directly on the Alps, so that sounded exciting. My significant other and I checked in at the front desk. We were assigned room 8 and then given keys on a keyring. One key was for our room door and the other was for the main door of the facility. Our room was on floor 3. The room seemed a bit dated, but clean. The Doppelbett was pretty comfortable. There was a good amount of outlets in the room that I got to use. I wasn't too into the style of the Badezimmer, but it was efficient. The water pressure was good. On 17.09.2024, we had Frühstück at Gasträume, which was on floor 1 near the entrance. Our table was 8 Reserviert for us. It felt cozy inside there for sure. It was a buffet that was self-service. On my first trip up, I got an Orangen, a Filterkaffee, scrambled eggs, and bacon. The Orangen was alright. The Filterkaffee was horrible. Even sugar didn't help the taste. The scrambled eggs and bacon were both bland. On my second trip up, I got a pretzel. It was rather hard. I didn't enjoy it. I think Frühstück should have been included with my stay, especially due to the low quality. I was displeased by it and felt ripped off. There were Toiletten below floor 1. They were clean and seemed to be kept up with nicely. Checking out was fast. There weren't any issues. The service throughout my stay here was alright, but nothing to brag about. The had, buffet style: a wide variety of fresh breads (I had croissants) and locally made cheeses. Freshly cut veggies, cucumber, red and green peppers, fruit, yogurt, muesli, smoked salmon, bacon, sausage and eggs (scrambled or soft boiled). Hotel Fantasia checked all the boxes for our needs. It's in the heart of Old Town, has parking, and beautiful grounds. Parking is 5 euros per night (cheap!) and breakfast is optional for a fee. We stayed in room 5, which was the only room with its own private entrance and had a garden view. There were berries, apple trees, and rose bushes to enjoy, along with a view of the clock tower. While there was only 2 of us, this room could easily accommodate more as there are also bunk beds in the room. Highly recommend.
