Came in here for a quick bite.. it's been one of those places on my list to try since the reviews were good and the food looked good , so finally I came in . First off the AC barely works guys so if you're not good with heat don't take your food to stay and also the cashier was super dead and seemed like she didn't wanna be there and preferred to text than engaged in a customer conversation. I mean it is what it is but customer service and how you treat a customer and the vibe you give people is always what brings people back ......just saying .. as for the food it was good . Been seeing the spot for years and never went in. Honestly, I thought it was just a storefront. Anyway, after reading reviews I decided to try it. I ordered the make your own macaroni. I ordered bacon, chicken and buffalo sauce with american and cheddar cheeses. Hubby ordered ham, chicken with mozzarella and cheddar. First, the bacon needs to cooked thoroughly before it's mixed with the macaroni. Too many bites of soft, undercooked bacon. Hubby's mac was slightly overcooked. Extra crispy edges made macaroni taste burned. My macaroni was ok. My only complaints... a little too oily, soft bacon again and sauce could've been spicier! Also, no variety for 2 liter sodas. The large plate was only $10.75. Now I'm a big guy. 6.2 215lbs and I couldn't finish that. Besides the great prices, the mac is absolutely delicious. I ordered the bbq chicken mac n cheese and also sampled the mini Mexican and the hot chicken which was also tasty. The spot is a hole in a wall, but then again those are usually pretty good. I'm not a Mac n Cheese person...never was but will have on occasion. That said, I stopped in to bring some home. I ordered: 4Cheeses, Burger Mac, Bacon Mac n Vege Mac. My wife had the Vege n loved it...n she's a "one slice of pizza n out" type, but even she loved the Vege mac My daughter loved all 4 n she is a Vege hater...that says alot. Hyperboles aside, this place is so damn good its well worth it to just drop your prejudices against the most incredible borough of all NYC and make the trek - if you're THAT type of person. Yelp surfing I discovered this place. Considering I wasn't more than a 10$ Lyft ride away I HAD to give it a try. I was NOT disappointed. The mac and cheese is delicious. The fact that you can add your own ingredients and make different versions of Mac and cheese to suit your mood is great. They have other menu items as well that are probably pretty good if we judge on the merit of the Mac and Cheese! The girl at the counter wasn't very friendly. No smile and seemed like she'd rather be elsewhere But in about 7 minutes that didn't matter! I had the sweet BBQ and it was amazing. This place is one of the reasons why I say hole in the wall restaurants have the best food. They have the best mac and cheese ever! & I believe I have tried my fair share. The recipe here is just perfect, a lot of cheese and a lot of flavor. I usually get the minis so I can try a few at once. The 4-cheese is delicious but my favorite is the buffalo chicken. You can also personalize your own and they offer a good selection of toppings Prices are fair, a small pan costs about $6 and a large one about $9 - both are pretty generous portions. Ordered delivery from here , was quoted at 30 mins and it actually took 1 hour. Delivery location was only 4 blocks away and it was a small order. I ordered the small buffalo Mac & cheese, 1 steak taco , and a slice of cheesecake. The Mac & cheese tasted great I just found the portion to be too small for the price ($6.50). The taco was also very small topped with only cilantro & onion, basically rolled together in aluminum foil. I wouldn't order that again. I got the mac & cheese with the chicken, the spot is a little hole in the wall (which can at times be totally surprising) it looks like a pizza joint, as a matter fact I they sell pizza, which to me is like if you're going to specialize in mac & cheese... make mac & cheese, but I guess they figure cheese pizza, macaroni and cheese, same difference.
