    Experience at Landmark

I am only putting 2 stars because I am giving a thumbs up for my advisors (minus my very first 1 who was completely an ass), a bit of the dean of students who handles the NCOs when I needed to get out of a very toxic situation, and counselor. As for everything else was dog shit. I had been raped for a total 5 months, emotionally/mentally tortured to where I had been getting nonstop panic attacks, blamed for things that I have never done, and I had people who were trying to destroy my friendships which they succeeded since I now have worse trust issues than before. I had to relive past traumas which made more issues for me. The cost is awful. I lost both of my parents and the school knew about this which made paying for the college awful. They told me just to find places to get more scholarships which I tried and I was pushed into a corner to where I couldn't even finish getting to my bachelors. The stress alone from the cost was ungodly bad since it made me to not even do homework and go to classes. I had to work 3 jobs at the school to even survive at that damned place. I suggest to never make anyone work more than 1 or 2 jobs at max otherwise the student would be exhausted. I was also losing hours for work because of how many bad PTSD attacks that I had from my last semester there. Food is shit and it makes people sick. I happen to know how to avoid such issues since I always check when I sit down to eat, but those who can't are getting sick, don't have the proper accommodations for their dietary, and some of the dining hall staff give such bad attitude. Fireside alone has somewhat decent food and the book store also has food that students go to more than the dining hall. I was beginning to have very bad and weak ankles to where I have to be cautious on how much I use them. I use them a lot which caused my last semester at the college to be the worst since my ankles were looking horrendous. The health services didn't help accommodate to the services because they brushed it off. They kept on telling me that I was pregnant when I wasn't the entire time I was being sa'd. Resident life is also a joke. Some RD's are great, but others aren't. I have a good experience with the Alumni Hall RD who believed me when someone accused me of having sex with someone as well as when someone was verbally assaulting. I also have a good experience with the old RD for the chumley and bridges, he always made sure that I got notifications about when a fire alarm went off because I have an animal who has sensitive hearing and I didn't want him to get hurt by the sudden noise. Others were downright awful to me.

Stop using people (students and parents) to make money and not help them. Try actually helping people.

Route 2 goes right into the middle of campus where you can see a delightful range of classic New England architectural styles in a rural setting with peaceful views of the surrounding mountains. First, the mid-morning information session was well-organized with a senior associate director (who was a Williams alumna) and rising sophomore from Seattle. Second, we did the 45 minute walking campus tour with a junior from Philadelphia who was refreshingly honest about her experiences. In contrast to Amherst College (which we visited the day before), Williams had a more organized and polished information session. One could see personal and specific examples of various Williams alumni being proactive in helping current students. Finally, the campus did not impose a KN-95 mask requirement. Overall, it's a lovely campus that is worth a stop if you're in this neck of the woods in the northern Berkshires!

Professors are usually fairly great and knowledgeable and most of all, approachable. The students are typically pretty academically poised. However, the new administration does seem a little out of it, and a lot of the newer students are hell-bent into changing the school into even more of an Asperger's-infused summer camp than it already is. The school's whatever you make it to be, and there's a lot of room to explore although your work gets unreasonably hard almost by the end if you stick with it. The school turns everyone into masochists if you stick around. A few dedicated partiers keep the campus alive. Food sucks. Cabin fever rules the day. A lot of snow all the time. Campus alternates from really pretty to butt ugly frequently. Wouldn't have traded it for the world. EDIT: I've graduated with high honors and got banned from campus (precisely, I'm persona non grata), but it got me into SOAS in London without a problem and I honestly think this is the best education money can buy. I'm awestruck at how pedestrian the education my friends received at more "prestigious" schools like Berkeley and UCLA or USC or Chicago or BU are as compared to mine and I'm not ashamed to say that despite the inconsistent administration and a lot of the the trial-and-error style of much of the folks running the show seem to do their work, the education is absolutely superb, and hey, I'm not there to make friends with my dean or to kowtow to the school president, I'm there to learn, and learn I sure did, even with the kerosene spills and e. coli in the water supply and insane classmates (who never last) and everything else. Unfortunately, Tim Little won't be there anymore, but at least the school still got 2 stripper poles.
