The hotel is very large and in a great area next to the train station and many shopping stores. The room was extremely small, which is ok as I was traveling alone. The AC did not work and while I was there, Berlin was experiencing some of the hottest days of the year. The bathroom area was dirty every single day. If you stay here, do not expect a luxury experience.

This hotel in Berlin was...an experience and unfortunately a very poor one at that…read more Pros: -the room was clean -excellent location with lots of shopping and dining options nearby and close to U-bahn stations -hotel appears very nice from the outside and lobby -great view from our room; also has a nice view from the top, but you have to pay to access it even as a guest of the hotel -the new swing on top looked like a lot of fun, though didn't get a chance to partake this time Cons: -the self check in kiosks are just not it - we made it through as far as getting our key cards for the room, but right then the computer told us that something had gone wrong and to visit the front desk. It didn't even tell us our room number. We got to the front desk and the staff that helped us was rude and didn't seem to believe us when she asked what our room number was and we told her we didn't know. Ultimately, however, she got us fully checked in and we were off. -the room is small, okay for 1-2 people -speaking of sharing the room, the bathroom situation is weird at best. The bathroom was separated into a shower portion and then a portion that contained the sink and the toilet itself. The two parts were divided by one door that could be used two ways: to fully enclose the shower, toilet, and sink or to close the shower, but then leave the toilet and sink open to the rest of the room. The shower itself doesn't have a lot of space to place your own toiletries (shampoo/conditioner, body wash if you wish to bring your own), so you have to keep the door open to the sink, but then the shower water spills out to the floor. Additionally, the walls of the bathroom are like a semi-opaque frosted glass and definitely see-through to some extent. Do with that what you will. On our last night, we were awoken by the emergency alarm going off telling us to exit our room and to take the stairs down at approximately 7AM. We took 36 flights of stairs down, only to find out that it was unnecessary and we rode the elevator back up. Beyond this, there was no explanation of what happened and why and nothing done by way of apology (not even an actual apology). Would stay here again only for the location, but I'm sure there are other better hotels nearby as well.
